Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 131 - 130: The Scent of a Scheme
"How did you make these bean sprouts? They’re so delicious!" South Grant asked curiously.
Nathan Foster looked at her and smiled without saying a word.
Then, dish after dish was served, filling the table with vegetarian dishes.
Every time South Grant took a bite, she was amazed.
Even better than meat!
"Where did they hire their chef? How come the dishes are so delicious?"
Nathan Foster called a waiter over at this moment, a faint, inscrutable smile on his lips as he said:
"Ask your kitchen staff to come over and explain how the dishes are made."
The chef came quickly and respectfully called out "Commander Foster" upon seeing Nathan.
South Grant was taken aback; it was obvious Nathan frequented this place, even the chef knew him.
The chef then began explaining the dishes.
"This sweet and sour bean sprout is made by carefully extracting the core of the sprout with a needle, then boiling it with eighteen different spices to make meat, which is then dried and ground into a powder and inserted into the sprout. This Snow Pear Drop is made by peeling and coring select snow pears, boiling them to a pulp, and then..."
As the chef explained, the piece of Snow Pear Drop that South Grant was holding with her chopsticks dropped onto the table.
Oh my gosh!
She didn’t need the chef to state the price; from the complexity of the preparation, South Grant could already guess that these dishes were worth a lot.....
Nathan’s mood was exceptionally good, observing her expression at this moment.
Just now, her way of pointing at the menu and ordering dish by dish was quite impressive.
South Grant lifted her head to look at Nathan, gritting her teeth in frustration.
Foster absolutely did it on purpose!
She had actually ordered dish by dish just now!
"...This cabbage is..."
As the chef continued to speak, South Grant interrupted him:
"Okay, I get it now. There’s already more than enough on the table; let’s not bother with the rest of the dishes."
The prices here are definitely beautiful, but that would make her mood not so beautiful, so she decided to prevent such beauty.
"Apologies, here we only serve one portion of each dish per day, and once sold, it cannot be canceled or refunded."
South Grant: "..."
When all the dishes were finally served, South Grant looked at the table and realized it was basically piles of money!
With each bite, South Grant felt like she was consuming money.
By the time the meal, which felt like cruel torture, ended, the waiter handed over the bill, and Nathan pointed at South Grant.
"She’ll pay."
Looking at the numbers on the bill, South Grant regretted it so much she wanted to hit her head against the wall.
Forget about her monthly allowance; her entire year’s budget wouldn’t cover this meal!
Nathan stood up at this moment, speaking leisurely:
"I’ll wait for you outside."
"..." As she watched Nathan leave, South Grant quickly trotted over obsequiously, "Uncle, between us, it doesn’t matter who pays."
"Sorry, I’m quite stingy." Nathan threw back the words South Grant had said earlier.
"..." Small-minded! The money South Grant had wasn’t even enough for one dish, and now, seeing that she was about to embarrass herself miserably, she could only soften her voice and say:
"Uncle, I spoke wrongly earlier. You’re not stingy at all. You’re very generous, very grand, very handsome, very dashing, very..."
"Agree to do one thing for me, and I’ll cover the bill." Nathan interrupted her insincere words.
"Tell me whatever it is, I’ll do anything for you, short of going through fire or over a mountain!" No way!
Of course, the last sentence was said in her mind.
"I haven’t thought of it yet. I’ll let you know when I do," Nathan said, a slight curve lifting his lips.
South Grant couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of her mouth. Why did she smell a scheme?
She had dug her own grave and had to endure it.
"Fine!" She agreed with gritted teeth.
Back in the car, South Grant was still regretting not packing up the food she just paid for because of the bill!
Once she came to her senses, realizing they weren’t on the way to school, South Grant asked Nathan: 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Where are we going? I have classes in the afternoon."
"I found out who set you up with Chester at the banquet the night before last," Nathan said with a slightly cold voice.
"Who is it?" South Grant asked tensely.
"You’ll know soon. I’ll feed you well so you can enjoy the show," Nathan raised his eyebrows with a hint of menace.
