Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 181 - 180: An Unusual Meal
In the morning, Chester Lynch had just helped South Grant in a fight, so she couldn’t really refuse. She nodded in agreement.
Chester was treating, so naturally it wouldn’t be in the school cafeteria.
After Chester and South walked out of the school, he turned to South and asked, "What do you want to eat?"
"Anything’s fine." South wasn’t fussy about food.
Hearing her say "anything," Chester took out his phone, opened the map, and checked for nearby good eats.
South leaned in, glanced at Chester’s phone, and suddenly recalled some places from her past life where she wanted to go but couldn’t.
Like street food stalls, or those tiny yet delicious skewer soup shops.
Back then, she was a celebrity, a public figure, with every move being watched.
Seeing Chester still scrolling, South said to him:
"Come on, let me take you to a place."
Soon, South led Chester to the entrance of an alley.
There was a noodle shop there, which South remembered from a previous life when she needed to shoot a commercial here.
There was a long line at the shop’s entrance, all waiting to get in. The shop was tiny, with only seven or eight tables inside, always full.
The shop was run by a couple. Even though business was good, they had never considered opening a branch or franchise.
Once, South wore a mask, a trench coat, and a hat to the shop, disguising herself well enough that no one there recognized her.
Back then, South asked them why not consider opening a franchise. She remembered clearly that the owner said their purpose for opening the shop was out of passion, to enrich their lives, not to pursue money.
In today’s world, such people are rare, so much so that South still remembers the owner’s words now.
Chester, led by South through several twists and turns, thought she was looking for some gourmet meal, not expecting such an inconspicuous noodle shop.
After sitting down, Chester asked South with a smile, "Are you saving money especially for me?"
"Who says spending more money guarantees better food? Spending less doesn’t mean eating poorly," South replied with a playful raise of her eyebrow.
Chester paused for a moment, looking at South, her eyes lively, unable to stop himself from being a little bit entranced.
After a while, he nodded and said:
"You have a point."
The purpose of earning money is happiness. If driven by money, it becomes counterproductive.
When the noodles were served, Chester realized why South had brought him here — the noodles were quite authentic.
The owner then brought over a plate of deep-fried chicken bones, looking very tempting in their golden-brown hue.
South took a pair of disposable plastic gloves, put them on, and grabbed some, savoring the delicious taste.
Chester’s appetite was piqued by South, and he joined her in eating.
There was no air conditioning in the shop, just two fans spinning on the ceiling, the steaming noodles and golden fried chicken bones making Chester feel like he had one of the most unique meals of his life.
Just then South Grant’s phone rang, and he went out to take the call. South noticed oil on her hands, and as she went to wash up, she overheard Chester on the phone saying: 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Withdraw from that stock for now, there will be fluctuations soon."
South, listening, found it odd. Chester, still in high school, was involved in stocks?
