The next evolution of these tactics was multi-front cooperative combat.

The Undead Army would serve as the main assault force on the front lines, tearing through the enemy’s ranged defenses on the city walls.

The skies would be left to the Extraordinary Dragon Cavalry, who would use harassing and suppressive tactics to disrupt the enemy’s deployment and prevent their fragile ranged units on the walls from attacking comfortably.

Underground, a secret commando team composed of Elite Extraordinary Heroes and Elite Extraordinary Soldiers would launch a surprise attack through tunnels dug by Steel Ant Demon Beasts.

Finally, there was the "nuclear bomb," Arthas, who would be airdropped into the enemy’s core to unleash Land of Corruption, using the swarm tactics of Undead Magic to snowball out of control from within their ranks.

Imagine: in a conventional siege defense, the defenders only need to focus on protecting the four walls.

But against such a multi-pronged assault full of unpredictable moves, they would have to be wary of enemies from seven directions at once: the sky, the ground, from underground, and the four walls.

This would cause the enemy’s attention to be severely divided, crippling their defensive firepower and making it impossible to withstand Qin Feng’s massive offensive.

"It’s fine."

"None of what you mentioned is a problem."

"Let’s set out now."

Seeing Qin Feng’s confident tone, completely unshaken by these terrible risks, Amilia immediately knew she hadn’t misjudged him.

So, she nodded obediently.

"Okay."

Afterward, the group set off at once.

In this team, besides Qin Feng and Amilia, there were all the Sielo Knights in their Wing Connection state with the Fire Foxes, as well as many top-tier Extraordinary Level Heroic Units.

However, Arthas, the Clone Unit, did not accompany them.

The reason was simple.

The Hero Talents he acquired by killing enemies outside of the Divine Descent State belonged only to his current body.

If this Clone were to fall in battle, even if Qin Feng used his Great Pioneer ability to summon a new Arthas, the new Clone would not inherit the Talent Abilities this current body had accumulated over the past few days by slaying enemy heroes.

But the Talent Effects Qin Feng gained from personally killing enemy heroes were not only fully enjoyed by him, but could also be completely inherited by Arthas while in his Divine Descent State.

That was the difference between the two.

Of course, Qin Feng had another option.

He could have stayed at the camp and used the Divine Descent Mechanism to remotely control Arthas, having him assist Amilia in disabling the No-Fly Magic Array.

This way, any Hero Talents Arthas gained from killing enemies en route would not remain with Arthas, but would instead all go to Qin Feng himself.

The problem was that Arthas couldn’t use Qin Feng’s Professional Skills. He could only use the over-the-top Lord Skills, which would greatly reduce his combat effectiveness.

Therefore, to ensure the mission was foolproof, Qin Feng ultimately decided to go into battle himself.

It was also a chance to let his long-unseen Ranger Form and Sigmar Combat Priest Form stretch their legs and rediscover the pure joy of those early pioneering days.

...

A damp scent, thick with the smell of earth and rotting wood, drifted out from the darkness of the secret passage.

As the strongest combatant, Qin Feng walked at the head of the group.

His footsteps were extremely light, making almost no sound as his boots crushed the fine gravel underfoot. The Sielo Knights followed close behind him like shadows, their Wing Connection with the Fire Foxes glowing with a conspicuous warm red light in the dark, like clusters of burning flames.

Amilia walked by Qin Feng’s side, her hands unconsciously clutching the hem of her skirt.

Water dripped from the ceiling of the passage from time to time, hitting the dusty stone steps with a TAP that sounded exceptionally clear in the silence.

She remembered the origin of this passage not because her father had told her, but because her gentle older brother had revealed it to her when they had snuck out of the city to play as children.

Back then, the stone walls of the passage still bore the childish graffiti her brother had left behind.

It had been so vibrant and lively.

But looking at it now, there was only mottled moss and patches of dark brown stains. It was impossible to tell if they were from years of neglect and erosion or if enemies had already trod here, leaving behind ominous marks.

As this thought crossed her mind, Amilia lowered her voice, her breath brushing past Qin Feng’s ear.

"There’s a fork in the path around the bend ahead. The left path is a dead end. The right one leads to the palace’s underground warehouse, which is the exit of the secret passage."

"There are usually only a few guards in the warehouse."

"But now..."

Before she could finish, the faint clang of metal suddenly came from up ahead. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Qin Feng, who had already sensed it, immediately raised his hand. The entire team froze in place, their breathing slowing to a crawl.

He then drew the shortbow from his back, took out the Plague Arrows he hadn’t used in a long time, and gazed in the direction of the sound with eyes as sharp as a hawk’s.

Two imperial soldiers who had defected to the Evil God Faction were leaning against the stone wall at the fork, chatting idly. The Bone Spikes on their armor glinted coldly in the dim light, and their longswords were stuck carelessly into the ground, the kicked-up stone dust not yet settled.

’So, this place has been discovered!’

’But the enemy’s guard seems pretty low.’

’Aren’t they worried someone might sneak into the Royal City from here?’

Qin Feng couldn’t figure out the reason, nor did he bother to waste time pondering it.

He simply raised his bow. Two arrows left the string almost simultaneously, so fast they were just a blur, felling the two ordinary imperial soldiers in the blink of an eye. They didn’t even have a chance to resist.

Then, Qin Feng sheathed his bow and gestured for the team behind him to follow, his own steps never ceasing as he continued forward.

The group proceeded along the secret passage, successfully exiting the tunnel and passing through the warehouse, finally setting foot inside the royal palace.

But the vast palace was eerily quiet; not a single soul was in sight.

There were no patrolling guards, nor any servants coming and going.

Amilia’s heart skipped a beat. She subconsciously slowed her pace, her eyes filled with vigilance, and she couldn’t help but whisper to Qin Feng beside her:

"It’s too quiet. Something’s wrong... Could this be a trap set by the enemy?"

Qin Feng, who possessed the Eagle Eye skill, scanned their surroundings with his piercing gaze, taking in every corner with perfect clarity.

"No."

"They must have all gathered on the city walls."

"As long as they rely on the walls for defense, these Mages can easily annihilate any enemy, whether they’re outside or have snuck inside."

"That’s why they didn’t assign many people to guard this secret passage."

Then, Qin Feng offered another possibility:

"Alternatively, they might not have even realized that this secret passage connects directly to the outside of the city."

"That’s also possible."

Amilia nodded.

"Alright."

"Then let’s just ignore them."

"We’ll go and shut down the Royal City’s No-Fly Magic Array first."

Soon, the group proceeded along the empty palace paths without meeting any resistance and smoothly arrived at the central hub of the No-Fly Magic Array.

The massive Magic Array before them floated in mid-air, its flowing runes emitting a faint blue glow.

Amilia took a deep breath and stepped forward. Following the emergency shutdown procedure from her childhood memories, she gently pressed her fingertip against the array’s core and began to initiate the deactivation sequence for the No-Fly Magic Array.

BOOM!!!

Instantly, a tremendous sound, like the heavens falling and the earth cracking, erupted from the central hub of the Magic Array. In just a few breaths, it spread through every street and tower in the Royal City.

The defenders on the city walls instinctively stopped what they were doing, pedestrians in the streets and alleys halted and looked up, and even the few remaining guards within the royal palace turned their heads to look.

They saw the enormous Magic Array barrier stretching across the sky of the Royal City slowly beginning to fade from its edges. The flowing lines of energy grew sparse. The sight shook everyone to the core as they instantly understood that the no-fly barrier was being deactivated.

Amilia’s fingertip was still pressed to the Magic Array’s core, her voice tinged with a barely perceptible tension.

"Your Majesty."

"This is the last risk we must face."

"If I am to shut down this No-Fly Magic Array completely, it will take at least an hour."

"During this time, enemy reinforcements could arrive at any moment. I must ask you to lead the others and hold them off for a while to buy me enough time."

Qin Feng glanced around the secret chamber that housed the Magic Array, his eyes quickly taking in every detail.

The only exit was narrow and cramped, forming a natural chokepoint that was easy to defend and hard to attack. In the corners stood several high platforms suitable for ranged attacks, from which one could easily lay down suppressive, concentrated fire.

He made an instant judgment. This place was just like the inside of a Lord’s Hall meticulously designed by a Lord Player. Every part of its structure screamed "perfect for defense." It was an ideal spot to block enemy reinforcements.

OK!

’This is in the bag!’
