Lord Game: I Have 100 Million Talents
Chapter 282 - 32: The Path of a Billion Talents
The entrance to the Magic Array chamber was so narrow only two or three people could pass. Qin Feng made a snap decision to defend it himself, plugging the gap with a one-man defense.
The others quickly divided their tasks, forming a tightly coordinated battle formation.
The Extraordinary Soldiers and heroes with Ranged Attack capabilities quickly seized the high ground inside the chamber. They used this vantage point to set up a crossfire, ever vigilant for potential threats.
Meanwhile, the Transcendents with only melee abilities tacitly stood by behind Qin Feng. If he grew exhausted and could no longer hold the line, they would immediately take his place, doing everything in their power to buy precious time for Amilia.
This deployment was somewhat similar to a "PVP deathmatch" between Lord Players, where both sides would build a defensive line at a key chokepoint to stop the enemy army from steamrolling their Lord’s Hall.
But the core difference between the two was extremely obvious.
In this type of chokepoint defense, ordinary players would typically send their well-trained Divine Chosen Soldiers to hold the gap, not the Lord Player who served as the supreme commander.
Even the King of War players, who had the greatest individual combat strength in PVP, mostly acted as backline supports providing buffs, not disposable tanks on the front line.
Then, the situation changed in an instant. The enemy attack was upon them.
Qin Feng stood at the narrow passage like a descended War God, his aura terrifying. His attacks were incomparably fierce, stopping all Extraordinary Level enemies who tried to charge into the chamber. No matter how they assaulted his position, they could not breach the iron defense forged by a single man.
As for the enemies who had not reached the Extraordinary Level, their fate was even more miserable.
The Burning Aura of the Flame Envoy Sielo Knight already enveloped the entrance. The scorching energy formed an invisible wall. Any grunt soldiers who stepped within the aura’s range were roasted by the flames and collapsed, never even getting the chance to rush the front line to draw fire or serve as cannon fodder for their Extraordinary Level allies. Their corpses littered the corridor outside the chamber.
Unfortunately, even though Fire Fox, which maintained the Wing Connection Enchantment, had successfully advanced to the Extraordinary Realm, the damage from the Burning Aura still fell short of expectations. It was unable to inflict significant damage on Extraordinary Level enemies.
Compared to its previous state of being almost completely ineffective against Transcendents, it could now barely inflict continuous damage akin to normal Bleeding or Poisoned effects. Its lethality was, in the end, limited.
However, against Mortal combat units that had not reached the Extraordinary Realm, the Burning Aura was a terrifying method of wiping out entire groups in an instant.
Once caught within the sweep of its scorching energy, a Mortal body stood no chance of resisting.
Theoretically, of course, there were tactics or preventative measures to counter it.
Things like Magic Resistance Equipment and Magic Resistance Potions, for example.
But these imperial soldiers, having only just thrown in their lot with the Evil God and been rushed into battle, had clearly made no preparations for dealing with Magic. They could only fall helplessly within the flames of the Burning Aura.
And having lost the ability to use charges from their massive number of cannon fodder soldiers to tie him down, the Evil God Faction was completely deprived of any effective means to drain the Magic Power and stamina of Qin Feng, the guardian of the pass.
As a result, all the Extraordinary Level Evil God Soldiers were forced to face Qin Feng directly.
Before this Powerful barrier who stood like a towering mountain they could not hope to cross, they no longer had any buffer.
"This isn’t working!"
"Lord Abby!"
"Our men can’t break through at all!"
"That Lord Player, Tingfeng—his strength is too terrifying!"
"His realm... it’s exactly like Lord Nesia’s! He has reached the highest level of the Extraordinary Peak! In terrain this narrow, he’s practically Invincible!"
As a seasoned veteran among the Evil God Believers who had witnessed centuries of change, Abby knew better than anyone the weight behind the two words: Extraordinary Peak.
If these Powerful individuals chose to just stand and trade blows, their combat effectiveness was not fundamentally different from that of ordinary Extraordinary Creatures. At best, their higher Attributes and converted Ability Values might let them endure three or four extra hits.
In other words, it might take me only two or three hits to kill you, while you would need six or seven to kill me.
But once you factored in the overwhelming Combat Experience, nimble movement, and exquisite techniques of an Extraordinary Peak expert, plus the boost from all sorts of powerful skills... even when outnumbered ten to one, it was entirely possible for them to eliminate all enemies with ease, emerging completely unscathed.
In short, the core of the word "Peak" in Extraordinary Peak was never about maxing out one’s Attributes. It was about the ultimate mastery of Combat Skills and a perfect command of combat mechanics.
This was the key to what set them above ordinary Transcendents.
’Why is Lord Nesia so formidable?’
’The key is his mastery of various forms of Instant Magic, especially his Flash Magic, which can be cast an infinite number of times. With that alone, he can easily handle being outnumbered a hundred, a thousand, or even ten thousand to one.’
’And the Flame Emperor, Galukasa, and his Extraordinary Dragon Cavalry—why are they considered Invincible?’
’It’s because Galukasa and his men are some of the world’s few Flying Units, and they have mastered the unique One-Strike Evasion Combat Skill.’
’Enemies can neither shoot them down nor trap them on the treacherous ground. It’s naturally difficult to contend with them. You can only watch as they pick off your soldiers and commanders one by one, like a game of Whac-A-Mole.’
