Lord of All Gods
Chapter 1939 Abdication
After Ye Liuyun finished stating his demands, Mu Changtian was also very puzzled at his real intentions.
"You won’t become the Emperor after taking down the South, and you want me to get more information at the central - are you trying to take it down as well?" Mu Changtian retorted.
Swoosh!
The glint of a blade flashed by in a sudden. Ye Liuyun slashed out a strike before Mu Changtian. He was beyond the point of resistance, and his left arm was severed by Ye Liuyun.
"Ah!” Mu Changtian yelled out, his face ghastly pale.
In that strike, Ye Liuyun had utilized both the Flame Force and Devil Qi. There was no way for him to recover his injuries now.
Although practitioners could use their genuine energy to heal themselves, if a severed limb wasn’t restored over a long period of time, it would be difficult to recover afterward.
It was clear that Ye Liuyun had purposely left him a mark to remember this lesson by.
"This is not a chat. Do you think that you’re qualified to question what I want to do?" Ye Liuyun coldly stated.
Mu Changtian was in so much pain that he was covered in sweat.
By this time, Ye Liuyun had already drafted a soul contract, waiting for him to sign it.
Upon the slightest hesitation from Mu Changtian, Ye Liuyun merely lifted his hand.
Immediately, Ye Tiandao readied to land a slash, one hand keeping Mu Lianqing in check.
"I’ll sign, I’ll sign!" Mu Changtian, gritted his teeth and signed the soul contract with Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun continued to order after the contract was signed, "Get Mu Lianqing to open the defense formation, and announce to the public that a ceasefire agreement has been signed with the Dark Legion."
The agreement stated that Emperor Nanfu would abdicate his throne to Mu Lianqing, who would henceforth be known as Emperor Nanyong. Mu Lianqing would continue to oversee the southern territories. Mu Lianshi and Ye Liuyun accepted their positions as the chief commanders of the Southern Royal Management.
Mu Lianshi was appointed to command the praetorian, whereas Ye Liuyun was entrusted with the border defense, the garrisons in the cities, and the Dark Legion.
Ye Liuyun casually tossed the royal seal on the table to Mu Lianqing.
"From now on, you are Emperor Nanyong! As for how to relay orders, ask your father for advice! I’ll be leaving the city first to bring away the Dark Legion."
After finishing his words, Ye Liuyun healed Mu Changtian’s wounds and gave him a healing elixir to speed up his recovery.
Then, he opened up the formation shutting the palace, and confidently left the city with the Blade Legion. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
The city’s guards stared in disbelief.
"Since when did the enemy entered the city? And how are they walking away so arrogantly now?"
In the palace, after a slight recovery, Mu Changtian instantly used his genuine energy to broadcast to the entire city, spreading Ye Liuyun’s words.
It was then that the city’s guards and citizens realized the battle was over.
"The ruler has changed, but at least it’s still someone from the Mu Family! There shouldn’t be any major changes!"
People began guessing, but others thought Ye Liuyun’s efforts were likely not just for the sake of the position as a chief commander.
But no one knew the specifics of the negotiation.
Mu Lianqing summoned the commander of the praetorian and ordered him to bring the troops back into the city.
After Ye Liuyun left the city, he released Mu Lianshi and told him the result of the negotiation before sending him back to assist Mu Lianqing in rule. Then, he instructed the southern army at the border to return to their stationed positions.
Ye Liuyun then returned to the Dark Legion, led his troops to seize the nearest large city and settled in it, and instructed Pei Yong to take the time to rearrange his troop.
He also ordered Yu Xiaofeng to recruit and train another reserve army to perfect the ladder formation. In the future, it could also be used to supply the Dark Legion with new troops anytime.
Xiao Yunfang led her troops to crush the rampant bandits around the regalty and maintain the safety in the outskirts. Afterwards, she headed north to take over the military power of the northern border.
This time, because the northern border did not send any troops for aid and there was no movement at all, Ye Liuyun was worried that those people might not be willing to be ruled.
His clone immediately informed the Devil Clan and asked them to advance to the Dormir as soon as possible to end the war early.
Only one tenth of the border guards at the Dormir were left there, while the rest were transferred to the eastern border.
Ye Liuyun’s next target was the battle at the eastern border.
The battle on the western border were guarded by the army of Necropolis, along with some of Pei Yong’s army, waiting for order.
After these soldiers were integrated, it was enough to hold the western border.
On Ye Liuyun’s side, the entire power transfer was very smooth, with his large army suppressing the scene, no one dared to oppose.
With the threat of the large army gone on the Devil Clan’s side, dealing with just a few city guards was much simpler. Within a few days, they marched all the way to outside the Dormir.
The cities they conquered would be their territories in the future, so they did not destroy anything. They just reappointed the city lord and replaced the human soldiers with the Clan’s own.
Despite things going smoothly at first, the Clan was getting drowned with these effortless victories.
Their leader and most of the generals advocated for crossing beyond the Dormir and looting some resources from the southern cities.
After all, they didn’t plan to occupy such a large territory. It would be easy for them to take down but hard to defend with their military power.
Ye Liuyun urged the witch to dissuade the clan, but not all of them were as woke as her. Eventually, under the support of the chief, the Devil Clan audaciously advanced into the Dormir.
The fort here was manned by twenty thousand greenhorns, not expecting an invasion from the Devil Clan. They lost the fort almost immediately.
They left only twenty thousand soldiers to guard the fort, with the rest of the troops split into three routes, charging for the Sapien Tribe Cities, wreaking havoc and pillaging.
"I’m really sorry, I couldn’t do anything to help at all!" The Witch apologized profusely to the clone.
"Are we in place?" Ye Liuyun contacted He Lianxiu.
"We’re in place, ready to attack at any moment!"
"Give me the coordinates, I’ll bring the Blade Legion there too!"
He gathered the Blade Legion, took them into his Spatial World, and used the Black Tower to appear near He Lianxiu’s battleship.
They had just arrived recently and was hidden in the deep forests.
"Let’s go, straight to the Dormir!" As soon as Ye Liuyun arrived, he led his troops forthwith.
Ye Tiandao led the Blade Legion to strike the city.
The soldiers of the clan were likewise looting and killing.
What they did not expect, however, was the fierce resistances from the martial practitioners here.
The soldiers who entered the city were unable to get into their battle formations, hence having their power reduced.
Both sides suffered heavy casualties.
Finally, in a fit of anger, the Vice-chief ordered the soldiers to massacre every person in sight, leaving no one alive.
When Ye Tiandao and his men attacked the city, they had just finished fighting and were collecting loots.
When Ye Tiandao saw this gruesome sight of the Devil Clan dominating the city, he wouldn’t be polite enough to spare them and went straight for the kill. When Ye Liuyun and the rest of the army arrived, they engaged in another fierce battle, slaughtering all of these twenty thousand Devil soldiers.
"Clear the battlefield, pierce every fallen devil soldier’s body with weapons and display them outside the city." Ye Liuyun ordered outright.
