Mage Manual
Chapter 1613 - 1184: Devil’s Bargain_3
She pulled out the box from her bosom, opened the lid, and inside was a dim "Dark Diamond." The Dark Diamond is the highest specification container for sealing Technique Spirits, but now lying inside the Dark Crystal is merely a Two-winged Technique Spirit.
Seek Sun.
Half a month ago, Azura mysteriously spread an urban rumor: anyone who brings the Seek Sun Technique Spirit to Azura can make a wish with a Devil. At first, Sesilia didn’t care about it, but after several mages appeared, having gained power from the Devil, she gradually grew restless. Until the Messenger Agency began to search far and wide for the Seek Sun Technique Spirit, alongside numerous confusing rumors and refutations surfacing online, Sesilia realized the Devil wasn’t just an urban legend; it was real.
She put the box away, raised her head, and looked toward the brightly-lit, bustling two-level city of Azura as if it were daytime. It was said that the ’First Witch’ Hanna rose from Azura, achieving the Holy Domain at an unfathomable speed, stepping into the Legendary realm, while wielding the authority to rule over the Gospel, even the current Empress Yisu was merely Hanna’s puppet. Whether it was personal might or authoritative feats, she reached the pinnacle... Did she really make a deal with the Devil back then to achieve what she has today?
As Sesilia’s imagination ran wild, the train swiftly entered Azura’s city district. Sesilia initially planned to wait until the train stopped, but suddenly noticed someone in the distance spreading their wings, flying into the train station, sending alarm bells ringing in her mind. Without hesitation, she jumped off the train, rolled on the ground several times, and with the sword tube in hand, dashed wildly toward the city center!
She reached the parking lot and saw a Raven Vacant motorcycle, didn’t hesitate to hop on, her metal fingers cracked open to reveal the electromagnetic universal key inside, twisting it repeatedly in the keyhole, and before the Two-winged Mage could fly closer, she successfully started the motorcycle. The engine roared like a giant beast, flames spewed from the tailpipe, carrying her with a roar as she smashed through the parking lot’s barrier!
"Don’t let her escape!"
"The Seek Sun Technique Spirit is on her!"
"Quick, stop her!"
Sesilia sped through the unfamiliar city streets on the motorcycle, surrounded by neon signs and light screen advertisements, yet felt as though she was navigating the most treacherous and dangerous forest. The street corners, skies, and highways seemed ready to unleash mages with greedy eyes on her from all directions, every passerby’s gaze felt like shooting covetous looks, the calls of greed ringing as if an alarm clock had awakened the yet-to-sleep city, a web of electrical signals spreading throughout the night sky.
She thought she was a lucky explorer with a key to the treasure vault, but now she felt more like a sheep willingly placed among wolves.
"Hand over the Seek Sun Technique Spirit!"
With the sound of a gunshot, the Raven Vacant exploded into fragments in an instant. Sesilia clasped tightly to the sword tube, was flung out, and barely stood up when she saw an Elf riding a motorcycle and charged at her head-on. He raised the bike high, attempting to crush Sesilia directly under the wheels!
Sesilia stepped forward, pulled out a straight sword from the sword tube, held it high, her slender frame taut to the fullest, her metal arm releasing scorching steam and emitting a piercing scream, slashed down fiercely, the crescent moon blade light cleaving the Elf along with his motorcycle in two, the steel mixed with flesh crashed onto the shops on either side, shattering the glass walls on the street front!
But the straight sword also snapped directly. Her modified metal arm could unleash terrifying power instantly, yet the swords could not withstand such brute force confrontation, hence the most desired item she wanted to buy is a Space Ring, so she wouldn’t have to carry the sword tube around everywhere... Sesilia threw away the broken sword, turned, and ran into the nearby alley attempting to shake off her pursuers, but all around the alleys were shouts and footsteps; she was surrounded.
These guys could even afford to use the Gospel Book for positioning... Sesilia now realized, the craftsman couldn’t have transmitted her information to Azura’s local agency, so only the mages from Azura could have used Merit to consume the Gospel Book to lock onto all Seek Sun Technique Spirits entering Azura territory.
But doing so consumes a lot of Merit and might not be effective. For the sake of the Devil’s wish, are they seriously willing to pay such an enormous initial cost?
According to urban legends, the Devil haunted Azura’s Litai District; one only needs to reach Litai District to transact with the Devil, and she was... 600 meters away.
Seeing mages blocking the small alley ahead, Sesilia took a deep breath, drew a straight sword from the sword tube, her bare metal legs tread on the rugged, sewage-filled ground. A light rain began to fall from the sky; summer’s cool breeze brushed through the city, many wonderful stories were about to unfold—delicious food, dates, fireworks, love... but those were all unrelated to her.
The moment she equipped the metal prosthetics on her hands and feet, when phantom limb pain and neural pain tortured her day and night, when she had to exert several times the effort with her frail body compared to others just to enter the Void Realm, she was destined never to lead an ordinary, mundane life.
Life was already so painful; if it weren’t thrilling and glamorous enough, wouldn’t her entire existence be a tragedy?
"Hand it over, or die."
Steel legs heavily stomped on the sewage, the burgundy-haired metal doll silently rushed through the rain curtain, swung the straight sword to slash down the first mage blocking her path. The second, the third... When she broke out of the alley, bare five swords were left in the sword tube, and she was 550 meters from Litai District.
Outside the alley on the main street, dozens of mages stood in a row, like a wall blocking her way, holding guns aimed at her.
