Chapter 1033

After the initial clash, Mada and Jay leaped away in time as they stared at Lucien who was awfully composed as if he were staring at a bunch of pests.

Unhesitatingly, Kael blurred forward, closing the distance in a single second.

His lightning sword lashed out at Lucien who just tilted his foot and an earthen wall burst upward— snapping in place as the lightning sword struck with a dull boom that almost shook the wall.

That wasn’t all, Alba pounced forward and quickly leaped over the tall wall with her blades crossed in front of her.

Swinging her hands outwardly, a crossed crimson slash of Ki burst forth with incredible speed.

Lucien just glided backward.

It was like the earth shifted with him as he moved backward while the slash smashed into the earth where he stood a second ago.

It cleaved into it like hot knife through butter.

Mada skid forward and in a few heartbeats, he was before Lucien and quickly exploded into a flurry of slashes and strikes towards the man.

Even though he didn’t have the protection of ki nor knew any martial arts, Z2 still tried his best to avoid each of the slashes by the skin of his teeth.

Those he couldn’t avoid, earth defences were mounted, blocking each and every one of them.

Screeech! Bang!

A lightning spear hurtled towards the man with blazing speed.

At the right moment, Mada leaped backward giving the spear enough space for it to reach Lucien.

Unfortunately, an earthen hand rose into place grabbing a hold of the lightning arrow, snatching it mid air and holding it in place.

"Have you forgotten? Lightning is weak against earth."

The hand twirled around and the arrow was hurled forward with double the speed.

However, a shadow portal just yawned in front of Kael swallowing the arrow into its depths.

Simultaneously, another portal appeared directly behind Lucien and the same arrow was hurled out.

Jay sent spears of water flying forward but Lucien just sighed.

The earth rumbled and trembled beneath his feet and the next second, he was shot forward with devastating speed.

He cut through the air with the same speed as someone who used Ki.

Mid dash, he avoided all the water spears.

Then vaulting into the air, he swung his hand downward calling upon a torrential of fireballs.

Hundreds of it rained down like meteors from space.

The group stared at it in confusion and almost immediately, Kael spread his hands all around and shadows rippled beneath the feet of his allies and his own.

Within a second, they all sunk into the shadows just at the right moment as the fireballs smashed into the earth instantly melting it as if acid was thrown on it.

Lucien twisted and turned with a scowl on his face.

"Come on, don’t be cowards you all. Come on out already!"

"...."

He was met with only silence as he looked around with a twisted look on his face.

The sound of the distant battle raged on in his ears but he paid it no attention.

"Hm? Did they run away?" He wondered silently as he looked around then slowly landed back on the ground.

’... No! Kael would rather die than run away from a fight like this. He is crazy. He won’t run.’

"Nope. Why would I run?"

The voice came from beneath his legs.

Lucien swiftly manipulated the earth to shift him away just in time as Kael could be seen rising out of the shadows alone.

"... I needed time to figure out how to take out one of my father’s former surbodinates."

He paused for a moment as a smile crossed his face.

"For years, I had looked up to you so I think I should have been able to tap into my knowledge of your abilities in order to defeat you."

The corner of Lucien’s mouth twitched as he looked around to no avail could he see the other trio.

"Really? So tell me, how do you want to defeat me?"

"...."

"By handicapping you." Kael replied with a wide grin as the world suddenly went dark instantly.

Vince landed in a roll and used one hand to stop himself from sliding on the rough earthen battlefield.

As drops of blood fell from the corner of his mouth where Scarlet had struck, he clenched his jaws in blazing anger as he could see Greg and Raze bolting towards him with literal lightning speed.

Springing to his feet in time, his hands was swung outwardly sending long, deadly spikes of metal flying in all directions like a porcupine.

Mid dash, Raze and Greg created lightning swords they swung in unison, deflecting the spikes with almost minimal effort.

But that was just a distraction as Vince had exploded forward.

His target?

Scarlet.

In his hand was a gleaming longsword.

Scarlet was ready. She wasn’t backing down as flames coiled all around her hands while she shifted into a firm stance.

Within moments, Vince was upon her with a descending slash from above that forced the female mage sidestep the attack in time.

Before the sword could strike the earth, Vince snapped his hand around and swung the longsword around.

Scarlet was quick to crouch down as the sword sliced through the space where her head was a moment ago.

The flames around her hands blazed brighter as she thrust it forward causing a tunnel of fire to roar out.

Yet, Vince leaped backward as the flames crashed into where he stood, scorching the whole thing.

Bang! Bang!

Greg and Raze quickly flanked him in a jiffy.

A metal dome quickly encased the mage in their embrace as Greg and Raze punched the whole thing with all their might while their speed was amplified by their lightning affinities.

Aside from a loud ring that sounded like when a gong was struck, the dome seemed to hold incredibly well.

But as the dome trembled, it seemed to ripple like a body of water disturbed by a stone.

Then, spikes fired out at the duo with tremendous speed.
