Master Of None
Chapter 2895. Another Council
The continent whale seemed to grasp a lot more with Walker’s words and actions. It had been arrogant before and forceful, but because it knew it had to be so that those on its back would survive.
It had never truly intended to enter the world and put themselves at risk as a weapon that would crush and harm others. Instead, it had planned to leave the races it protected behind in a place that it knew the gargantuan squid could not even approach safely. It had been ready to perish in the end alone.
"I will go and meet them, you can relax a bit now, whatever is coming this way can be handled by myself. I will also work out a deal if I can. I would prefer that your two races stopped killing one another if possible."
While he would not act as a diplomat for every race, Walker couldn’t let two races face one another in a life and death battle on his doorstep. It just didn’t sit right with him.
He did feel like this was an awkward situation. He had already made it back to the water elemental plane without a plan. He literally was letting others dictate his movements.
Yet, he allowed himself to make the choice to take on this battle. To take in these races if he could. He decided it because he knew that he had the power to do so. Maybe wandering like this was the best path to take for the future. He could still explore, still discover new aspects of all that was.
But even if he wandered, he would be able to return home. He would grow stronger and see the overall reality much better. He just needed to let himself flow with fate for a change rather than trying to go somewhere with intentions to change and help. Maybe that was the issue, he had become smaller minded only focusing on the world because he had the intention to help the world.
When in reality, he should intend to be part of everyone and everything.
His step forward came with teleportation again. It was still a shorter distance than what his goal was overall, but he was feeling it was more and more possible. The elemental planes were welcoming to him. He felt that they were so.
He also sensed that the water mana held tightly with the space mana making up the water elemental plane’s foundation allowed him to teleport freely with less pressure in resistance. If this was the case, he could figure out teleporting through to the elemental planes from the world more easily sooner than later. He would need to practice much more.
As he looked down from his new spot above the continent whale, a new sight came in to view.
Buildings covering its back. Some seemed natural like coral or rock. Others seemed to be materials cut and carved. One even appeared to be the bones of defeated monsters that made up homes. Skulls that had been carved and shaped to be roofing materials. It was full of various styles and they expanded outward from the center. It also most felt reminiscent of Genesis.
However, they all fell in to the shapes that fit the continent whale. Proving that these races had made their homes and living related to the whale as it grew. Their people grew with the continental whale, only expanding when they could do so in relationship with the whale. It was symbiotic.
They had always traveled with it, able to get new resources without needing to fight monsters within a singular territory. They were brought from danger and to safety. They would just need to live and keep the continent whale safe as well. Parasites, smaller monsters, and even other races could be handled by them if necessary.
The continent whale was like their guardian in a way. Maybe that was the most accurate way to describe them too.
Several figures moved quickly. Their strength in water mana was clear, but they lacked the overall power that Walker would expect from them. They also appeared differently, but all still humanoid.
"I stand as the warrior of the dolphin folk."
"I represent the hammerhead people."
"I stand as the wave rider tribe."
"I am a member and king of the glacial goblins."
"I am of the coral treants."
"I am the greatest fighter of all the sea sheep people."
"I am a scholar of the tidal current sprites."
Each had different shapes and forms. The first looked like a demi-human with dolphin monster traits. The same for the hammerhead race that held traits similar to hammer head sharks. The wave rider race looked like the merfolk but held larger fins that might catch wind or water with their larger fins.
The glacial goblins were icy bodied goblins, Walker looked at them wondering if they had fled from the world in the past. Or if they could have developed here. He truly wished to bring them to Genesis to meet the various forms of goblins that gained their acceptance as a race after so long.
The coral treants were similar to the monster treants, but they clearly had intelligence. The sea sheep people looked more like slugs, but they filtered water through their bodies creating mana based sounds that made up their words. The scholar of the tidal current sprites was actually the largest of all of these races. Their wings were larger fins that seemed the same as the small sprites but they clearly used them to follow the currents within the water elemental planes.
These different races all had a lot going for them. Different but united. Clearly their cultures developed differently before they came here and kept their past while building a new future. All in all, Walker felt that they would all be able to meet and accept Genesis relatively easily. They already lived very much like how Genesis wished their people to grow and live together.
"Looking at how you all act, I have a feeling you could join your council with the Genesis council easily. You all stand for your people just as those who live in the world and have united. We have various races from the elemental planes as well. Some who fled for safer homes, others that trade and travel between their elemental plane and the world."
"We can offer trade, cultural exchange, safety, and various other benefits. Every single person no matter their race stands equally. Dragons that are considered royalty, or monster races that recently gained recognition as intelligent races. All are equal there."
As he spoke, Walker flexed his mana manipulation a little creating ice that mirrored the view of Genesis from above. He slowly explained them and then finally introduced himself. "My name is Walker, a true hero title holder and a member of the Origin race. I could tell you more if you would like, but I wanted to be clear with you and all of you as leaders."
"I will either fight or make an arrangement with the gargantuan squid coming to fight your home and ally, the continental whale. You could all flee or you could trust me to handle this and witness why you may wish to form an alliance with myself and the home I assisted in building."
He’d done this in this way because he wanted to see if they would allow him this trust. He could tell they all knew their poor situation and how the continent whale was going to sacrifice themselves for them.
If they decided to flee no matter what, he would not be happy with them joining Genesis and recommend that they find themselves a safer home within the water elemental plane. If they stayed, he would ensure that he kept them all safe while handling what he needed. It was up to them.
He saw them nod, but also understood that they would be speaking the moment he turned around. That was a good thing though, he was already seeing that they would not make separate decisions and fight themselves in the face of danger. They would consider one another and move forward together.
This could be the result of them needing to learn to work together to survive or it was just how their people had grown in the time that they were together. They had different representatives within their own alliance and it appeared that they enjoyed seeing that others of entirely different origin shared the similar ideals.
Regardless, Walker was more focused on the larger mass of mana approaching. He knew exactly who it was and what it was. He could sense it and he had been waiting. The gargantuan squid was almost here and he would be stopping it to speak. If he could, he would also end some of the natural conflicts that always happened between them and the continent whale race.
