Master Of None
Chapter 2944. Advancments and Teasing
"The nutrient potion that Remey helped make was perfectly made for me. Alice, I am telling you that it is the single best potion I have ever had." The raving about Remey’s work to make a person specific potion went on and on.
"It feels like my body has everything I need and even the harder aspects of my job feel less stressful because I am in my best condition. It is critically affecting my productivity." Alma just kept going and showed the slightly energetic brightness that came with generally feeling amazing.
Alice knew more about the potions than what she let on though.
There had been various healers, alchemists, and nuns working together to ensure that there were sets of potions for those expecting children. They did this because it was always hard for some races to carry them or it was generally rough on the mother’s body. Therefore, this aspect of care was extremely important to them.
Not to mention extremely important to Genesis. It was growing in population, that had to be focused on too. The people needed to know that they had health as a focal point for their leadership.
Not just to expand the alliance, but to make sure people lived safe and happy lives. It went a long way.
Not to mention that there was the fact that the potion had been brought to another level.
The nutrient potions were perfectly aligned with Alma’s affinities and her needs. Then they were increased in the amount necessary for any elf, let alone a high elf that may need more nutrition, to help her grow a literal child within her. It was like she was both utilizing healing and buffing potions at the same time.
"There are so many people working on those potions, but many of the merchants and nobles with a lot of funds are paying alchemists to make specific potions for people. But we also have some issues with that." Alice started to explain the issues.
Many people had taken potions made for specific people. While a health potion might be a health potion no matter what in some people’s eyes, that was not always the case.
For the nobles who asked for potions to be made for their bodies specifically, there were stipulations. One being that they would potentially cause adverse reactions to those who were not the individual intended for the potion.
This was because the body weight, mana affinity, and various other forms of information were taken so that the potion could be adjusted. More of this herb or that herb. Additional mana use in the preparation or less mana. There was also the fact that some people might have unique resistances meaning that they could handle more toxic herbs that would cause damage to others while having a healing effect on some.
The nobles who had expected this form of potion had run in to others using their potions foolishly causing some illnesses and other issues. No one had perished because of this but it was important to ensure that these potions were treated with care.
"Yes!" The shout wasn’t Walker or Gil but it caught Alma and Alice’s attention. They looked up and realized that it was a group of healers who had been isolating the mana and now had stopped entirely to run to the one cheering and jumping about.
Walker and Gil looked like they had stopped too and were stunned that they were interrupted. But they seemed to catch on that the healer had made a valuable breakthrough in their training. Enough so that they gave their own shouts of cheer too.
"What happened?" Alice had some worry on her face even though she had some surety that this would be good news. That didn’t mean that she didn’t take any changes in a healer as something that deserved her care.
She had trained so many of them that she felt like some would be called her children or disciples at this point. Not to mention her hand in guiding the lessons for the healers as a whole. There were so many high healers, priests, or even nuns who have shown immense growth in their leadership and teaching skills.
Some even trained healers in the guards for other kingdoms!
"I just gained the mana freeze spell. It’s a debuff that lasts for three seconds, but it will stop the mana in an entire area around the target for three seconds so that they can’t use mana. I can become a battle healer now!"
The other healers appeared to understand that this was a major goal for the healer in question. They knew that for her, this was an immense gain that was a step toward her goal for her future.
"It’s similar to the mana slow debuff skill I got. It causes mana to move slower and harder for mages to use it. It would be perfect for you and I to coordinate." Another healer was talking about the skills they gained.
However, this presented an interesting set of ideas.
The debuff skills that were being used to help people which was amazing. But if the debuffs that healers used could be trained in this way, it could present new forms of training for some people focused on their physical might. Especially warriors who were always training their weapons skills and general physical strength as a whole.
It also presented the path of becoming a healer who had more strength in support for others. An increase in supporting skill sets for those in adventuring parties, explorers, and even the guards that protected merchant roads would be massive.
It could help fight off bandits which inevitably would appear. It would help combat stronger monsters that relied on mana. It also would help in those who were supporters as a whole and needed to increase their variety of support for those they helped. They didn’t need to be healers specifically.
They could do more with more options.
But this also presented a unique path.
A class that might develop to combat mages specifically. Or those who utilized mana in destructive ways.
For the guards, it would be an amazing asset. They could handle criminals who used powerful magical mana based skills. It would ensure that those I divisible could not cause more harm to anyone when in an altercation.
"Wait, did all of you advance or learn new skills?" Alma spoke up catching their attention and Gil and Walker moved closer forgetting their training out of interest for what was happening.
"Yes! I learned the advanced skill called high mana isolation. It should help me remove decaying dark mana from any injuries easily!" The excitement was palpable.
Another two raised their hands in agreement since they also gained the skill.
"I actually gained a skill called dual debuff. I was using two skills while we switched healers and managed to gain it accidentally."
Walker widened his eyes at this. "I gained a skill called multi buff by using multiple buff related magical skills at once. You can most likely progress that to a multi debuff skill. It might be a weaker debuff but it would still work well. And it would have more variations when taking in to account the different debuffs you use."
This seemed to ignite more interest in the healer and also made Alice smile softly. They both saw it as a beneficial chance to encourage others and grow themselves.
"I know some classes focus on debuffs, but you might also be pushing people toward new classes based on debuffs as a whole. It might be an awesome way to encourage new healers-"
"Yes! I can try and become a teacher in the academy!"
They were all shocked at the sudden burst of energy, but they could perfectly understand it. This healer clearly had the energy and potential to care for students. But seeing someone realize they had a path to follow to achieve that goal was enlightening.
No, it was more than that.
It was inspiring.
"And you two? Was the training worth it?" Alma already had a slightly telling smirk on her face. One that said she already knew that they had benefited.
Gil and Walker were energized by the excitement from the healers too, so they were ready to explain a bunch. They did hold back though. They started to both speak at the same time causing even the healers to be stunned.
After a few moments, they both took deep breaths and burst out laughing. Clearly, the two were prepared to tease everyone a bit before they actually explained things clearly. Yet, everyone fully understood that this form of training was beneficial enough that even the people considered the strongest would call it ideal.
"You two can just explain it to us on paper then." Alice joked while Alma backed her up. They could tease a bit too. Plus the healers around were enjoying the atmosphere here after working so hard.
