Chapter 33: Test[6]

After making sure no one was watching him, Asher took out the corpses of the three Gold Rank beasts he had killed today.

He placed the corpses of the three beasts on the cold stone floor. The corpse of the Three Tail Monkey had its skull pierced by a mana sword, and its shoulder was cut by a spear.

The second corpse was of a big black bear with a height of 5 meters, and the bear had one of its legs cut off while its throat was sliced by a mana blade.

The third corpse was of a giant python with a length of 10 meters. Its head had holes in it, caused by a massive arrow that Asher fired while Aria confused it. It was the hardest out of the three to kill.

None of them had their mana cores extracted or destroyed.

Asher then bent down and touched the corpses of the three beasts one by one, healing them back to their peak condition.

It took almost a quarter of his mana to heal them even though they were not that badly damaged, because healing beasts required more mana than humans due to their strong and massive physiques.

After all the corpses were healed, Asher focused his consciousness and transferred his memories, along with his WILL and a part of his soul, into the corpses.

After the whole process was done, the corpses of the beasts started absorbing mana from their surroundings, and after 10 minutes of continuously absorbing mana,

the corpses opened their eyes and then stood up and looked at Asher.

The moment the three beasts stood up, a heavy pressure filled the cave. Their eyes no longer carried the wild instincts of normal beasts and instead looked unusually calm and emotionless.

Then the corpse of the snake opened its mouth and said in a slightly irritated voice, "I don’t like this vessel. I will find a better one with limbs and store this one for when we have to fight that war. Though I hope it does not happen, but knowing human’s nature, it is inevitable. Still, even if it would not be quiet, it would still be fun."

Then the corpse of the Three Tail Monkey said, "So we just have to increase our vessels on this island and then remove ’them’ if they become obstacles in the future?"

The corpse of the bear said, "It will take about two months for that vessel’s understanding of main element to reach the master. Then our strength will increase enough that we won’t have to worry about our abilities being discovered."

Asher just shrugged and then said, "Yeah, these people are already getting scared of our strength. I just hope they won’t get in my way during this test. Even if I can’t kill them right now, I am not a pushover who will let it slide when someone gets in my way."

He then tossed the storage ring, which contained the other corpses and important items, to the Three Tail Monkey vessel.

After that, the human Asher teleported back to his room and dismissed his mana clone.

After spending some time in his room, Asher thought, ’How much longer will this life without war last? Whatever, there is no point thinking about it. Let’s just enjoy this time.’

Soon, it was his turn to keep watch, so he made his way toward the entrance of the cave, where Aria was sitting on a big stone and using it as a chair, with a calm expression on her face.

Hearing the sound of footsteps, Aria turned her head toward Asher and said, "You came earlier than expected."

Asher just shrugged and sat down on another nearby stone. "I was not tired enough to sleep anyway."

Asher then said while looking at the stars in the sky, "You should go and rest now. We will have to fight beasts tomorrow for points, so you need to be in your best condition."

Aria just looked at him for a second, then nodded and went to rest.

Asher then kept watch for two and a half hours before waking up Adam and going to sleep himself.

The night passed quietly without any unexpected incidents.

Early in the morning, the sound of beasts roaring in the distance echoed through the forest, waking everyone inside the cave.

Everyone woke up and then sat together at the entrance of the cave and ate fruits for breakfast.

Noah was completely awake since he had taken the last shift and had slept for seven and a half hours without any disturbance.

Aria and Asher also looked awake and completely refreshed.

Only Adam looked a little sleepy.

They all ate in silence and then started moving toward the center of the island because, after three days, the exit portal to go back would open there, and most of the fights between teams would also happen on the last day of the test.

The four of them moved cautiously through the dense forest while remaining alert to their surroundings.

They did not stop to fight every beast they encountered and instead focused on moving toward the center of the island as quickly as possible. Only beasts that could give decent points or blocked their path were killed.

Along the way, they also started seeing signs of battles more frequently. Broken trees, burned ground, and blood stains could be seen in several areas, showing that many teams had already started fighting each other for points.

Noah looked at one of the destroyed areas and said, "Looks like some strong teams have already started hunting others."

Adam’s expression became slightly serious. "The closer we get to the center, the more dangerous it will become."

Asher calmly walked ahead of the group while observing the surroundings with sharp eyes. "That was obvious from the start. The real test was never about surviving beasts."

Aria, who was walking beside him, added, "The academy probably wants to see how students act under pressure when points, survival, and rank are involved at the same time."

Noah let out a helpless laugh. "In simple words, they want students to fight each other."
