Chapter 716: Chapter 715: I’m Sorry, I Don’t Want to Get Involved

The First Mrs. Sterling said, then turned around and went inside to talk to Serena Sullivan.

The First Mrs. Sterling knocked on Serena Sullivan’s door and spoke to her about Felicity Sterling coming again.

"If you don’t clarify things with her, she’ll probably keep coming."

James Sterling agreed to let Felicity Sterling meet Serena Sullivan, partly out of pity for Felicity, and partly to stop her from constantly visiting.

Serena Sullivan nodded and replied.

"I’ll freshen up and then go out to see her."

The First Mrs. Sterling came in to help Serena Sullivan change clothes and wash her face.

Ethan Grant went to work early, unwilling to disturb Serena Sullivan, letting her sleep in at home.

The First Mrs. Sterling and James Sterling were not comfortable leaving her alone at home, these days going to the restaurant much later.

Serena Sullivan changed into a dress and came out. She sat in her wheelchair and saw Felicity Sterling in the living room.

In two days’ time, Felicity Sterling had become a lot thinner. When she saw Serena Sullivan, her eyes turned red.

"Serena."

She called out, her eyes brimming with tears.

Serena Sullivan spoke calmly, "I haven’t had breakfast, hope you don’t mind me eating while we talk."

Felicity Sterling nodded repeatedly, as long as she could talk to Serena Sullivan.

She walked over to the dining area and sat across from Serena Sullivan. The First Mrs. Sterling went to the kitchen to bring out breakfast and placed it in front of Serena Sullivan.

The breakfast had a variety of delicacies, each one exquisitely made, showing the care of the person who prepared them.

Felicity Sterling looked at the delicious food and swallowed hard.

Due to the issues with June Kane, she hadn’t slept or eaten properly.

She usually didn’t feel hungry, but seeing a table full of food now made her suddenly hungry.

Serena Sullivan asked the First Mrs. Sterling to get utensils for Felicity Sterling, and the two started to eat and talk.

Serena Sullivan was hungry too but was eating slowly.

Felicity Sterling was very hungry and wanted to quickly talk to Serena about June’s issues, so she ate just a few bites before putting down her utensils.

She said sincerely, "I didn’t know my mom wanted to hurt you."

"She did it all for me."

Serena Sullivan did not respond, slowly continuing to eat her breakfast.

"I know it’s impossible for you to forgive her."

"But can you give her one more chance, for my father’s sake?"

Felicity Sterling looked at Serena Sullivan with reddened eyes, her heart aching at the thought of June Kane’s future in prison, tears falling again.

"You should go to Simon Sterling."

Serena Sullivan opened her mouth, looking at the crying Felicity Sterling as she spoke.

"I’ve looked for him."

Felicity cried and replied, "You know, he feels he owes you too much, he won’t give mom a chance."

"Serena, I’m begging you, let her go this time, okay?"

"She tried to hurt you because she feared my dad would abandon her, and she wanted me to marry Ethan Grant."

"I swear, I won’t bring her around you again, and I won’t pursue Ethan Grant anymore."

Felicity Sterling said, raising her hand to swear.

Serena Sullivan shook her head and replied, "Felicity, did she really hurt me just for you?"

"I don’t think so!"

"She wanted you to marry Ethan Grant—isn’t that just for herself?"

June Kane wasn’t thinking about Felicity Sterling’s future, only her own.
