Serena Sullivan didn’t have a heart of a saint. After her legs were crippled and almost drowning in the sea, she couldn’t just forgive June Kane as if nothing had happened.

After saying those words, Serena picked up the chopsticks and continued eating her breakfast.

Felicity Sterling looked up at Serena with tears in her eyes. She choked with a sob, more tears welled up and spilled over.

"I know! I know."

Felicity sobbed as she spoke.

"She shouldn’t have laid a hand on you!"

"You returned to The Sterling Family and became the Eldest Miss Sterling. Grandfather and grandmother pampered you, uncle and aunt treated you as their own daughter, even dad has eyes only for you as his daughter!"

"And what about us?"

In just a few months, her world and Serena’s world had turned upside down.

Serena became the high and mighty Eldest Miss Sterling; she and June Kane were kicked out of The Sterling Family, and now, she was about to lose her mother as well.

"If you want to stay at The Sterling Family, Simon wouldn’t oppose."

Serena replied indifferently.

Simon had raised Felicity for many years. If June Kane were truly convicted and imprisoned, returning to The Sterling Family would be best.

"No!"

Felicity shook her head, looking down at the tears that had fallen onto the table.

Rather than returning to The Sterling Family, she wished more for June Kane to be unharmed.

Seeing Serena’s firm attitude, Felicity bit her lip, stood up, and walked over to Serena.

In the living room, First Mrs. Sterling and James Sterling immediately walked over, worried Felicity might do something in her agitated state to Serena.

Felicity turned to see First Mrs. Sterling staring at her and let out a mocking laugh.

"Serena, look at you, so many people protecting you!"

"I’m begging you!"

After she said that, Felicity knelt on the ground in front of Serena.

"I’m begging you, spare my mother this once."

"She won’t dare again in the future."

Crying as she spoke, Felicity sounded more emotional, and she truly kowtowed to Serena.

Though Serena and her were peers, this gesture, Serena dared not accept.

Serena moved her wheelchair aside, avoiding Felicity’s position.

"Mom, help Felicity up."

Serena said to First Mrs. Sterling.

First Mrs. Sterling also felt it was not appropriate for Felicity to kneel and beg.

"Felicity, please get up for now."

First Mrs. Sterling reached out to help Felicity, "Your mother brought it upon herself, you should live the rest of your life well."

June Kane had dealt so cruelly with Serena, not only Simon and Mr. Sterling, but First Mrs. Sterling also harbored resentment.

Even if it was because of what Claire Sullivan did to June Kane twenty years ago, June bore a grudge; the wronged parties should be Claire, not Serena.

No matter how innocent or helpless Felicity made June Kane sound, it was attempted murder, an unforgivable crime!

"That is my mother!"

Felicity was indifferent to First Mrs. Sterling’s persuasion. She stood up straight and replied coldly.

She pushed First Mrs. Sterling away, stepped back two steps, and her eyes turned cold as she stared at Serena having breakfast at the dining table, speaking loudly.

"Serena, you’ve got your way! You’re happy now!"

"My mother will be in prison, never coming out to be a bother, and I won’t step into The Sterling Family again."

"You’re already the Eldest Miss Sterling and found a wonderful man like Ethan Grant. Why still not be satisfied!"

"Why won’t you let my mother off, and give her one more chance! You’re not dead, are you? You were saved, weren’t you?"

A plea and a kneel could not get Serena to nod, and Felicity got angry.
