Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 741 - 740: Ethan, You’re Really Foolish
On the day of the surgery, The Sterling Family arrived, along with Finn Chandler and Anna Morgan, who had rushed over from Solaria.
Serena Sullivan glanced at the crowd, unable to hold back her laughter, "It’s just a regular surgery, why is everyone here?"
A regular surgery?
Everyone here knew well that, for Serena, the outcome of the surgery dictated her future.
If the surgery was successful and she woke up, life would return to normal.
If it failed or she didn’t come back to consciousness, she would lose her life or spend forever on a hospital bed without waking up.
"No matter the size of the surgery, of course Anna and I would come."
Finn Chandler smiled as he replied to Serena. Back then, when Serena was so helpless and miserable, they stayed by her side.
Now, even though she didn’t need them, they had to be there.
"Serena."
Ethan Grant’s hand landed gently as he stroked Serena’s cheek. He gave her a slight smile, "Relax, there’s nothing to fear."
"Seems like you’re the one who’s scared!"
Serena replied with a laugh.
"Yeah!"
Ethan admitted, he had been so scared that he couldn’t sleep for several nights.
"The worst outcome is just a failed surgery, nothing more."
Serena smiled, half-joking as she spoke.
"What nonsense!"
Ethan’s voice dropped as he scolded.
He rarely spoke to Serena so harshly, and after he did, he realized his moment of lost composure and softened his tone, "Sorry, I’m tense."
"But Serena, you’ll be fine."
Serena chuckled, Ethan was not only thick-skinned but also had a wonderful way of lying.
"I believe I’ll be okay."
Serena replied, though believing or not might not change the surgical outcome.
Everything in the operating room was ready, and the nurse came out to wheel Serena inside.
Ethan watched as Serena’s eyes turned red, his fingers slowly unclasping from the wheelchair.
After unclasping, he tightened them again, gripping the wheelchair.
"If you don’t let go, it’ll be dark soon." Serena smiled and reminded him.
Only then did Ethan release his hands and watched as Serena was wheeled in by the nurse, watched the door of the operating room slowly close, and he stepped forward.
As the door closed, Serena’s voice came from inside.
"Ethan Grant, you’re truly silly!"
The voice finished as the door completely shut, making it impossible to hear each other or see her.
Ethan stood there, unmoving.
The surgery should start soon, yet he stood there, unsure of what to do!
As Serena also entered the operating room, when the door closed, she closed her eyes, and the faces of everyone, including Ethan, danced in her mind.
Sadness! Suffering! Pain! Anxiety!
Everyone’s eyes held these emotions.
Ethan’s, even more so!
Perhaps he himself hadn’t noticed, but everything in his eyes revealed his thoughts at this moment.
Ethan Grant, you’re truly silly! Knowing the chances of me waking up from this surgery are slim, why hide it!
Wake up or never wake up, having gone through so much, she had made peace with it.
She only hoped for the ones she loved to be well in the future!
Serena was sent into the operating room, and everyone didn’t leave immediately, waiting for the end of the surgery.
Old Master Sterling and Madame Sterling sat together, eyes full of pain and regret.
If they could choose again, they would have brought her back four years ago, no, at Serena’s birth, they should have brought her into The Sterling Family.
No, when Claire Sullivan encountered such a big incident, and Simon Sterling offered himself in exchange, they should have opposed it to the end.
