Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 834: Finn Chandler’s Nervousness
To meet Mrs. Ford, Finn Chandler specifically went online to find information about the Ford Family, but not much was available, so she called Anna Morgan to ask about Mrs. Ford’s preferences.
Anna Morgan said that when Mrs. Ford was young, she was a well-known beauty and socialite in Solaria.
But she maintained a cool demeanor; you rarely saw her smile.
After hearing Anna’s words, Finn Chandler was very nervous and spent a long time picking out clothes. She originally wanted to call Serena Sullivan for help, but worried Serena might be too tired from shopping.
Once she had selected her outfit, she went to the mall to pick out a gift.
Around four or five in the afternoon, Julian Ford came to pick up Finn Chandler. Seeing her in an outdated, dark-colored dress, he smirked.
Finn Chandler got in the car and, noticing Julian Ford was still smiling, asked anxiously, "Isn’t this outfit okay?"
It wasn’t her original choice, but she didn’t dare wear her usual bright red or flamboyant clothes. She was also afraid Mrs. Ford wouldn’t like a white dress.
After trying on different options, she had the store clerk bring her a conservative outfit. It looked kind of ugly but at least appeared as proper for a noble lady.
"When meeting the family, you have to dress formally," Finn Chandler continued to say.
"Formal is one thing, but it’s just too ugly," Julian Ford commented.
Finn Chandler knew it was ugly; she bowed her head anxiously.
"Will Aunt like the way I’m dressed?"
Julian Ford smiled and shook his head.
Seeing his reaction, Finn Chandler became more flustered, "Is there still time to buy new clothes?"
Perhaps she should go back to the mall to buy something new.
Julian Ford held Finn Chandler’s hand and softly said, "It’s okay even if it’s ugly."
"If she doesn’t like it, that’s her problem."
The smile on Julian Ford’s face deepened, "You’re my wife; as long as I like it, it’s nobody else’s business."
Julian Ford’s words immediately calmed Finn Chandler’s heart, even if he was just trying to soothe her, it was very comforting to hear.
"As for clothes, as long as you think they’re nice, that’s what’s important."
"Besides, I’ve seen you at your most beautiful."
Finn Chandler leaned closer and asked Julian Ford, "Which outfit do you think was the prettiest?"
"Hmm..." Julian Ford smiled, drawing out his response, as Finn Chandler looked up at him, waiting for his answer.
Julian Ford answered seriously, "When you’re in bed."
Finn Chandler’s face flushed red, her ears felt hot, and she glared at him angrily, "You scoundrel."
Julian Ford chuckled, pulling Finn Chandler into his embrace, planting a kiss on her, "You’re the only one who’s ever looked good to me."
Many women had climbed into his bed naked, but his thoughts were only occupied with the one in his arms now.
After hearing this, Finn Chandler’s heart raced rapidly, feeling as if she might burst with happiness.
And just like that, she nestled in Julian Ford’s arms until they arrived at the hotel where they were to have dinner with Mrs. Ford.
As they neared the private room, Finn Chandler became nervous again. Julian Ford reversed the grip on her hand and gave her a reassuring smile.
The door to the private room opened, and Finn Chandler followed Julian Ford inside. Mrs. Ford lifted her head, seeing her son, her expression was cold without the hint of a smile.
This demeanor made Finn Chandler even more tense; she forced a smile, trying hard to appear elegant and composed.
Normally, as Young Master Chambers, she was quite carefree, except she couldn’t reveal her identity as a woman. Unlike Serena Sullivan, she didn’t like to disguise herself with a smile. After all, she was the general manager of The Chambers Corporation, very powerful.
"Mom." Julian Ford held Finn Chandler’s hand and called out to the expressionless Mrs. Ford, "This is Chloe, my wife."
