Riley Raines lingered in the shop unwilling to leave, and Vanessa Sterling didn’t want to waste time with him here, but was helpless.

"I say Vanessa, why do you work so hard all day? If you come with me, I won’t let you down."

Vanessa smiled and responded, "Thank you, Young Master Raines, for your attention, but I dare not climb such a high branch like yours. I’m afraid your countless girlfriends would come and cause me trouble."

Riley confidently said, "Don’t worry about that, they wouldn’t dare. Besides, I’m just playing around with them. Since I’ve decided to marry you, I’ll never let you suffer grievances."

If she were an inexperienced young girl, she might have believed Riley Raines’s nonsense.

She might even think of herself as the lucky one who makes the playboy settle down.

But Vanessa, first of all, wasn’t interested in Riley Raines, and secondly, she always believed that a leopard can’t change its spots.

However, to get Riley Raines to leave, Vanessa replied, "Young Master Raines’s promise is indeed tempting, but marriage is no joke. Give me some time to think about it."

Seeing that Vanessa no longer outright rejected him, Riley Raines felt he had made some progress.

He nodded with satisfaction and said, "Alright, I’ll give you three days to consider it. I’ll come back for your answer in three days."

Vanessa nodded with a smile, and saw Riley Raines out the door.

Thinking, three days of peace is still three days.

Riley Raines stepped outside under the eaves and turned back to look at Vanessa, asking, "You’re really not going to keep me here?"

"It’s getting late, Young Master Raines, you should rest sooner."

Riley laughed and said, "Alright, I’ll take care of you."

Vanessa smiled silently, gesturing a "please" with her hand.

Once Riley turned away, Vanessa immediately shut the shop door.

In the heavy rain, no one noticed the black sedan parked by the roadside, nor the man smoking at the driver’s seat.

Vanessa went upstairs, dove into the bathroom, and after showering and changing out of her rain-soaked clothes, finally felt a bit warmer.

Vanessa paid no mind to anything related to Riley Raines.

Thinking about tomorrow’s lessons, she soon fell asleep amidst the day’s exhaustion.

The next day, after the rain cleared, the sky was bright.

After several trips back and forth, she noticed the black sedan parked by the roadside, but she paid it no mind.

In the afternoon, after the children’s class was over, she saw the black sedan again.

The car’s position had slightly changed, but she was sure it was the same car as before.

She had been in this area for some time and had not seen this car before.

Could it be a new resident from around here?

"Teacher Sterling, would you like to go out for dinner tonight?" asked a teacher from the calligraphy class, approaching Vanessa.

Vanessa politely declined, "I need to organize the studio tonight, so I won’t join you."

"Alright then, we’re heading out now."

"Okay, see you tomorrow."

The teachers gradually left after making their plans, and as the students finished school, Vanessa closed the shop early and went to the upstairs studio.

The studio’s windows faced the street. As she was tidying up halfway, she suddenly noticed the black sedan parked by the roadside had left.

It was just a regular sedan, and Vanessa didn’t understand why she suddenly took note of it.

While lost in thought standing by the window, the black sedan unexpectedly appeared in Vanessa’s view again.

She watched as the sedan slowed down and stopped at its previous parking spot.

The driver’s door swung open, and upon seeing the man stepping out of the car, Vanessa froze on the spot.
