Richard Sheffied’s voice and expression changed due to his anxiety: "Stop it now! Do you have any idea how much these paintings are worth?! Can you afford to pay for them?!"

The group of men in black laughed at his words and continued their destruction even more recklessly.

Richard was about to call the police when he received a call from the school, saying he had violated the ethics of teaching and revoked his teaching qualifications.

The store employees didn’t want to be caught in the conflict, so they left the mess behind and walked out.

Customers who had previously placed orders for the paintings also called to cancel.

Even students who had enrolled came over to demand a refund of their tuition...

Richard, who initially felt his career was taking off, suddenly felt his future was utterly shattered and slumped helplessly onto the floor.

He had lost the grace and dignity of the past, his eyes hollow like a puppet devoid of a soul.

Richard realized that Vanessa Sterling couldn’t possibly have done this alone, and he belatedly understood that Vanessa was close to Shane Warner’s wife.

If he had offended The Warners because of this, then his future was truly doomed.

Thinking of this, Richard immediately got up from the floor, went upstairs to grab his car keys, and drove straight to Vanessa Sterling’s doorstep.

He naturally entered the password into the lock, but it said the password was incorrect, only then did he realize Vanessa had changed it.

Richard anxiously rang the doorbell frantically, pressing it repeatedly, showcasing the urgency in his heart.

Watching the screen from inside, Vanessa hesitated upon seeing Richard outside the door.

Richard’s fearful and anxious face showed, with the doorbell buzzing repeatedly. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Miles Sterling, in the neighboring house, viewed this scene through the surveillance and worried Richard might be here to retaliate against Vanessa, hurriedly got up to open the door.

When Miles stood outside, he saw Vanessa opening the door from within.

Before either could react, Richard dropped to his knees with a "thud" before Vanessa, his voice trembling and urgent as he pleaded, "Vanessa, I’m at fault, I shouldn’t have said those things to you, I’m not worthy of you. Please, stop tormenting me?"

Vanessa was utterly stunned, completely unsure why Richard suddenly acted this way.

Miles stood indifferently by the door, somewhat surprised that this man surrendered so quickly.

Vanessa glanced at Miles, uncertain if he had gone to trouble Richard.

But she didn’t feel any sympathy for Richard, coldly watching him plead on the ground, saying, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about, please don’t disturb me again."

Then, Vanessa closed the door without a second thought.

As far as she was concerned, Richard’s temperament was no different from Miles’s in the past.

Once his trigger point is touched, he loses his sanity and turns into a demon.

She simply couldn’t sympathize with such a man.

Richard got up, intending to ring the doorbell again, as if unable to leave peacefully without Vanessa’s forgiveness.

But before Richard’s finger could land on the bell, Miles grabbed his arm, saying coldly, "Get lost."

Richard turned to look at Miles, irritated, and cursed, "It’s none of your business!"

Miles couldn’t be bothered to explain, warning, "If I see you bothering her again, I’ll make sure you can’t even hold a brush."

Upon hearing this, Richard guessed that the man in front of him was responsible for those incidents, unsure of his background, but he’d assumed anyone with such connections wasn’t to be messed with, and he immediately caved, saying while retreating towards the elevator, "I promise I won’t come again, please show mercy and spare me."
