Chapter 2018: Chapter 1986: God Subduing Swamp

This swamp is very peculiar. Normally, swamps would be teeming with poisonous insects and all sorts of toxic creatures that thrive in such filthy environments.

However, this swamp is surrounded by silence, complete silence without a sound, not even a little bug can be seen.

There is only silence, a death-like silence.

The brilliance of Li Chen’s eyes shone bright as he activated the Eye of the Dao once more. Despite his cultivation being suppressed to the Domain Realm here, the Eye of the Dao itself had grown more profound than before. Lines constructed by various laws appeared in Li Chen’s vision.

In front of him, the swamp completely disappeared, leaving only a world constructed by countless lines of laws.

Li Chen slightly bowed his head, looking towards the bottom of the swamp.

Through the densely packed lines, he gazed into the deepest part of the swamp.

He wanted to know what exactly was at the bottom of the swamp.

After a long time, the brilliance of Li Chen’s Eye of the Dao dimmed slightly, and he finally had some answers in his heart.

"Netherworld, Bai Shi."

Li Chen’s voice suddenly rang in the minds of Bai Shi above the high sky.

"Boss." Bai Shi looked down at Li Chen, unable to restrain his confusion.

"I have some matters to deal with here, you guys go explore on your own," said Li Chen. "Oh, Netherworld, Yang Xin—your Aunt Yang whom you met in childhood—is here. If you encounter her, you can join her."

"Okay, Dad." Netherworld nodded.

Although Li Chen seemed to be deeply embroiled in the swamp now, he was able to converse with them in such a tone, clearly indicating that there was no problem.

They had absolute confidence in Li Chen.

Such a perilous land wouldn’t be able to trap him!

After the two left, Li Chen turned again to Christina: "I want to go down and take a look. Are you interested in joining me?"

Christina looked at Li Chen with a complex expression in her eyes and finally whispered, "The God Subduing Swamp, according to legends, was a famous dangerous location during the era of the Seven Realms. Ancient records state that many Gods and Demons lost their lives here."

"Of course, the term Gods and Demons doesn’t refer to the current Divine Realm and Demon Realm races but rather the three thousand Innate Gods and Demons from the Chaotic Era, when heaven and earth initially formed and evolved into the Ten Thousand Races," Christina said slowly. "Every one of these Gods and Demons was born with incredibly powerful might and divine skills. Legend has it that the God Subduing Swamp was their burial ground. And so, countless experts have come to the God Subduing Swamp to explore."

"But all who entered the God Subduing Swamp ended up trapped deep within, never to emerge, correct?" Li Chen said casually.

"You’re right, but it’s said that once, someone did emerge," Christina replied. "In the Four Realms, there are some ancient beings who have lived from the Ancient Times to the present. In our Demon Realm, there is such a figure, who is said to have entered the God Subduing Swamp during the era of the Seven Realms, and returned alive, bringing back the inheritance of the Innate Gods and Demons, attaining supreme might."

"He is now the Demon Emperor of our Demon Realm," Christina said, glancing furtively at the sky, as if wary of something.

Li Chen nodded nonchalantly, "Seems like you know quite a bit."

Christina’s face reddened slightly, understanding Li Chen was mocking her previous secrecy.

Li Chen had long figured out that Christina had her own motives for coming to this place, far from her claim of feeling inadequate and wanting company in exploration.

Anyone who discovered such a secret realm would likely first think of claiming it alone, even if it meant risking death there, since people might die for riches and birds for food. It’s unlikely anyone would behave like Christina, sharing the location.

"Alright, alright!" Under Li Chen’s piercing gaze, Christina finally surrendered.

"I admit, I did hide something. Before I met you, I’d already explored to this point. But I was worried that you might harm me," Christina said helplessly.

Li Chen smiled and nodded, "So after I saved you, you were still concerned?"

"Want to hear the truth?"

"Well, initially, I aimed to bring you all to the God Subduing Swamp, ideally finding a few compensations. But after you saved me, I couldn’t bring myself to do that, so I came alone," Christina confessed.

"And then you got trapped here?" Li Chen said, half-smiling at Christina.

"You! Can’t you leave some room for negotiation when speaking? Aren’t you trapped here too?" Christina retorted loudly.

"I’m not quite the same," Li Chen laughed.

"What’s different?" Christina scoffed. "Aren’t you also trapped by the God Subduing Swamp, no matter how skilled you are? Planning to fly out straight away?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Li Chen nodded with a smile, "Certainly."

Christina remained silent, turning her head defiantly away, clearly thinking Li Chen was boasting.

Li Chen wasted no words, proving himself with actions.

The God Subduing Swamp’s pull is indeed strong, that terrifying suction would be impossible to resist, not just for Domain Realm cultivators, but even Soul Realm experts would likely struggle. They were only at the swamp’s edge; deeper in, the suction intensified, and those desolate vibes grew stronger. Eventually, cultivators found all their power seemingly vanish, unable to be used.

In the era of the Seven Realms, even Daoist Lord Level experts ventured into the depths only to be forced to sink.

Suddenly, radiant energy blossomed from Li Chen’s body. With a snap of his fingers, he enveloped himself in a unique power.

Under Christina’s shocked gaze, Li Chen moved in an exceedingly strange manner, retreating directly into a space gate, reappearing above the firmament.
