Chapter 219: Allies and Threats

"If the Prince of Pride becomes Demon Lord, it could spell the end of the demon race and every other race that isn’t human," Rin explained calmly. "At best, the survivors would become slaves beneath his rule."

"That’s why everyone placed their hopes on Lin," Racheal added quietly, her voice carrying traces of lingering doubt. "They believed he would be the one capable of stopping his brother. That was why we suspected him first when Lin died."

Damian silently observed the fear lingering within his wives and Rin, yet he himself remained strangely calm.

This was not the calmness born from ignorance nor was it the confidence of someone blind to danger.

Deep within him existed a crawling instinct that whispered one thing repeatedly.

I can kill him.

With everything hidden inside his arsenal, Damian truly believed he possessed the potential to defeat this monster one day.

He was not afraid. Only curious.

"What is his name?" Damian finally asked.

Buzz!

Every head in the room snapped toward him instantly, terror flooding their expressions.

If Sol ever found them even if Damian somehow survived, Hazel, Ruby, and Racheal knew with absolute certainty that they would die.

"Just write it on the board," Damian said indifferently. "I won’t say it aloud."

"No..." his wives gasped almost together.

But it was already too late.

Under Rin’s control, the marker floated upward and slowly wrote a single name boldly across the whiteboard.

Sol.

Damian’s eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at the three letters.

"...That doesn’t sound American," he muttered slowly.

"Of course not," Rin replied calmly. "Once someone achieves godhood, their true name is revealed to them. That revelation comes with countless other benefits and changes, but explaining all of them right now would take forever."

Damian nodded slowly while trying to process the concept.

A person possessing a true name they remained unaware of throughout their entire mortal existence...

And somehow, merely discovering that name granted strength.

The idea itself felt surreal.

For several moments, Damian simply sat there thinking before finally lifting his gaze toward Rin again.

"How much of a threat is he to me?" he asked directly.

Rin answered immediately, almost as though it had anticipated the question long before Damian voiced it.

"Little to none. For now, your greatest priority should be Greed."

Hazel nodded firmly in agreement before speaking.

"He’s a monster. Once he marks someone as prey, he never stops hunting them until they die. Greed needs to die before you can truly live freely."

Racheal and Ruby nodded as well, though unlike with Sol, their expressions showed annoyance more than fear.

Clearly, Greed did not terrify them. He simply irritated them.

"After that," Rin continued, "I suggest you eliminate your weaker siblings one after another. The more inheritances you accumulate, the greater your advantage becomes during the final confrontation between you, Pride, Wrath, and Gluttony."

"You need to become as strong as possible before then."

Damian found himself strangely satisfied after hearing that. At the very least, once Greed died, the balance would finally shift.

He would no longer remain the hunted. Instead he would become the hunter.

And honestly, that was a transition he welcomed wholeheartedly because he was already tired of constantly looking over his shoulder.

"Do you have any information on Greed?" Damian asked.

Rin sighed bitterly and shook its head.

"Unfortunately, all I know is that he belongs to an insect race."

Damian slowly nodded in understanding, a faint smile lingering on his face. It was already incredible enough that he had managed to learn so much about Sol.

But then...

Fighting someone from an insect race. For some reason, the idea fascinated him.

Fighting creatures from an entirely different evolutionary path sounded strangely exciting. And honestly, it wasn’t just the insect race itself that intrigued him. The existence of completely different worlds where humanity occupied entirely different positions from Earth captivated him deeply.

Truthfully, Damian had always dreaded the inevitable day he would be forced to leave this planet behind.

Yet now it felt oddly comforting knowing the universe beyond Earth might actually be worth exploring.

"Now," Rin continued, "that brings us to the recommended survival methods available to you."

Damian’s attention immediately returned to the fox.

On the floating whiteboard, the marker rapidly scribbled down two words.

Sol Or Conquering the Dukes of Hell.

"In this war, there are only two paths that guarantee your survival," Rin explained calmly. "The first option is submission to the Prince of Pride."

The moment those words left its mouth, Hazel, Ruby, and Racheal instantly sat upright with murderous expressions darkening their faces.

Damian frowned slightly at the suggestion, yet he did not interrupt. Instead, he waited patiently for Rin to fully explain itself.

"I know you’re wondering how this could possibly make sense," Rin continued. "But think about it carefully. Pride is radically pro-human. As the Sin of Pride, he would naturally be delighted to see someone he considers a younger human brother willingly submit beneath him."

"If you choose that route, then until the final succession battle for the throne begins, absolutely nobody in the underworld would dare touch you."

Rin paused briefly before continuing coldly.

"But naturally, such protection comes with a price."

"Your wives would die."

"So would every demon connected to you."

"Even the twenty-four legions we’re currently trying to gather would be slaughtered."

"If you stand beside Sol, then every demon around you becomes a target for extermination."

Damian silently absorbed the information without immediately reacting.

Rin had presented the advantages and disadvantages fairly without obvious bias, so Damian considered the proposal seriously.

And honestly from a purely logical perspective, siding with Sol was not a terrible option.

Not only would it rid him of the demons constantly complicating his life, but it would also place humanity under his protection.

Under Sol’s shield, Damian could safely focus on developing his Lust and Abyss inheritances without interference. Those two powers alone already granted him terrifying potential beyond most of his siblings.

By the time he eventually chose to break free from Sol’s shadow...

Perhaps even the Prince of Pride himself would no longer be capable of suppressing him.

In truth, it sounded far safer than openly opposing Sol while simultaneously provoking the Dukes of Hell.

"Let’s skip that option," Damian said calmly as he shook his head decisively. "It’s a good plan, but I can’t afford to lose my wives."

For him, the discussion ended there.

No matter how practical the option appeared, Damian could not entertain the thought of watching any of his wives die.

Not even for survival.

Rin released a defeated sigh.

Though honestly, it had expected this response already.

Damian was not the type of man who casually abandoned those he considered his own.

He could be cruel. But the people he accepted into his circle mattered to him deeply.

"Then your only remaining path is the original plan," Rin continued. "Build your personal army and overthrow the current system entirely."

Its voice became colder.

"It will be exhausting. Stressful. Dangerous."

"Which is exactly why you cannot afford distractions or unpredictable variables capable of ruining years of preparation through impulsive behavior and poor communication."

Rin’s eyes slowly shifted toward Hazel, Ruby, and Racheal.

"Regardless of which side you choose in the future, removing these three women from your life remains absolutely essential for your survival."

"Bastard!"

"Fuck you!"

"You wanna fight?!"

The three girls erupted instantly, glaring murderously at the fox while hurling insults without restraint.

Meanwhile, Damian merely rolled his eyes and leaned back against the bedpost, pretending the chaos around him no longer existed.
