Chapter 210: Shadow Heart Pendant
Andrey’s eyes locked onto the pulsing spot beneath the hydra’s scales. "Everyone, focus your attacks on its chest! We need to break through the scales and destroy the heart!"
Sein’s flames roared as she launched herself forward. "Crimson Cataclysm!" Her fist slammed into the hydra’s chest, the explosion of fire cracking the scales.
Sarah raised her wand, pink energy gathering. "Heartstorm Apocalypse!" A torrent of pink hearts rained down on the same spot, widening the crack.
Hope’s greatsword swung in a powerful arc, golden light blazing. "Radiant Judgment!" The blade struck the hydra’s chest, and the scales shattered, revealing the pulsing heart beneath. It was massive, dark, and throbbing with corrupted energy.
Lisa’s hands glowed as she reinforced the barrier around the team. "It’s exposed! Hit it with everything you’ve got!"
Andrey stepped forward, his staff extended, Ki flowing into the weapon. "Overdrive!"
His body surged with power, his hair turning white as the energy blazed around him. He leaped forward, staff raised high, and drove it into the exposed heart with all his strength. A shockwave of pale blue and white energy erupted from the impact, tearing through the hydra’s body.
The Black Hydra let out a deafening roar, its massive body convulsing as the corrupted heart shattered. Dark energy burst from the wound, and the creature’s regeneration stopped. Its remaining heads let out one final, desperate hiss before going limp.
The hydra’s body collapsed, its massive form crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact. The dark energy around it flickered and faded, and the creature’s scales began to crumble, turning to ash.
Silence fell over the chamber.
Andrey stood over the fallen hydra, his white hair slowly returning to its normal color. The Overdrive faded, and exhaustion washed over him, but he stayed upright.
"We did it," Sarah breathed, lowering her wand.
Sein let out a long breath, her flames dying down. "That thing was tougher than I expected."
Lisa’s barrier flickered and faded, her shoulders sagging with relief. "Is everyone okay? I can heal any injuries—"
Hope sheathed her greatsword, a tired but genuine smile on her face. "I think we’re all still in one piece. That’s what matters."
Andrey turned to face the team, his staff resting on his shoulder. "Good work, everyone. That was a coordinated effort. We couldn’t have done it without each other."
A holographic screen materialized before them.

System: Item obtained!
Shadow Heart Pendant – Rare Accessory
Description: A pendant crafted from the heart of the Black Hydra. The gem within pulses with residual dark energy, but it has been purified by the team’s coordinated strike. Grants the wearer increased resistance to dark and poison-based attacks.
Effect: +25% resistance to dark and poison damage. When HP drops below 30%, the pendant activates a minor regeneration effect, restoring 5% HP every 5 seconds for 15 seconds.
Andrey held the pendant up, its dark gem catching the faint light. "This is a good piece. It’ll help with survivability."
Sarah peered at it, her eyes wide. "That looks valuable. You should keep it."
Andrey nodded, securing the pendant around his neck. The gem rested against his chest, warm and steady. "I will."
The team gathered around the ornate chest, its dark surface gleaming with veins of silver that caught the dim light of the chamber. The carvings of serpents and flowers seemed to shift subtly, as if the metal itself was alive.
Andrey crouched down, running his fingers along the edge of the lid. The silver veins pulsed faintly under his touch, and a low hum emanated from within. "This one feels different," he said quietly.
Sein crossed her arms, watching with interest. "Open it. Let’s see what’s inside."
Andrey lifted the lid.
A soft, warm light spilled from within, illuminating the chamber. Inside, nestled on layers of dark velvet, lay several items, gleaming with enchantment.
[Circlet of Verdant Grace – Rare Accessory]
A silver circlet with a pale blue gem that pulses with protective energy.
Effect: Grants a passive shield that absorbs up to 150 damage. The shield regenerates out of combat. When broken, reduces incoming damage by 15% for 10 seconds.
[Chained Moonlight Bracelets – Rare Accessory]
A pair of silver bracelets connected by fine chains, inscribed with glowing runes.
Effect: When worn by two people, they share 10% mana regeneration and can sense each other’s location within 50 meters.
[Blossom of Tranquility – Rare Accessory]
A flower-shaped brooch with pale green crystal petals that radiate calm energy.
Effect: Grants 10% resistance to fear and confusion. Once per day, restores 15% mana and removes one negative mental effect.
Crafting Materials:
• Shimmering Silver Thread – A coil of enchanted silver thread, perfect for creating light armor or accessories.
• Stardust Powder – A pouch of fine, glittering dust that can be used to enhance enchanting or alchemy.
• Golden Nectar – A small vial of glowing liquid, likely a rare alchemical reagent.
Andrey read the descriptions and turned to Lisa, offering the circlet, bracelets, and brooch.
"These are all for you, Lisa," he said, his voice gentle but certain. "They’ll enhance your support abilities and keep you protected."
Lisa’s eyes widened as she stared at the items. "All of them? But—these are so valuable..."
Hope smiled warmly, stepping closer. "They suit you perfectly, Lisa. Your barriers and healing have kept us alive. You deserve them."
Sarah nodded, a grin spreading across her face. "Yeah! Without your shields, we would’ve been toast back there. You’ve earned it."
Sein gave a short, approving nod. "Just take it."
Lisa’s cheeks flushed, her fingers trembling as she reached for the circlet first. "Thank you, everyone... I’ll wear them with pride."
The circlet settled on her head, the pale blue gem resting gently against her forehead. The moment it touched her skin, a soft, warm light rippled across her body. She gasped softly, feeling the surge of protective energy flowing through her.
Her hands moved next to the bracelets, their delicate chains chiming softly as she clasped them around her wrists. The runes along their surface glowed once, briefly, before settling into a steady, warm hum. She could feel the amplification immediately, her healing energy sharper and more responsive.
Finally, she pinned the brooch to her outfit, its pale green petals catching the light as a gentle warmth spread from it. A soft sigh of relief escaped her lips as her mana began to flow more freely, the brooch already working to keep her reserves topped up.
Lisa looked down at herself, a soft smile spreading across her face. "Thank you..." she said again, her voice full of emotion.
Sarah gave her a playful nudge. "Now you’re even more unstoppable."
Sein cracked her neck, already turning toward the passage ahead. "Alright. We’ve got the loot. Now let’s go free those trapped heroes."
System: Congratulations on conquering this dungeon. Would you like to exit the gate immediately, or investigate a hidden room located nearby? Warning: Hidden room contains high concentrations of residual dark mana. Proceed with caution.
Andrey exchanged glances with the others. "Hidden room. That might be where the trapped heroes are being held."
Hope’s hand rested on her greatsword, her expression serious. "If there are heroes trapped in there, we’re not leaving without them. That’s why we came here in the first place."
Andrey turned to the System. "Take us to the hidden room."
A shimmering portal opened before them, its edges crackling with faint golden light. The team stepped through, and the world twisted around them.
When their vision cleared, they found themselves standing in darkness. The air was cold and damp, carrying the scent of rust and stagnant water. Their footsteps echoed as they moved, splashing through shallow puddles that covered the uneven stone floor.
Andrey raised his hand, summoning a faint Ki light. The glow pushed back the shadows, revealing their surroundings.
They were in a large, underground chamber. The walls were lined with rusted iron bars, forming a series of cells that stretched into the darkness. The bars were thick, coated in layers of corrosion, and many of them were bent or broken.
Water dripped from the ceiling, pooling in shallow puddles on the floor. The air was heavy with the smell of damp stone and decay.
Sarah’s voice echoed in the space. "This is a prison."
