Feeling a bit shy under Ashton’s unwavering gaze, Joanna bit her lip and, lifting her skirt, walked toward him. "What do you think?" she asked knowingly. "Do I look good?"
Ashton swallowed hard several times before he managed to respond, his voice hoarse with emotion. "Yes, you look great."

"I think it’s beautiful too," Joanna agreed without reservation. "I really love this wedding dress. After our wedding ceremony, I want to keep it safe and pass it down to our daughter someday."
"That’s a great idea. I’m on board with that," Ashton said as he stood, holding Joanna’s hand. His gaze was deep and full of emotion. "If we have a son, he can pass it down to his future daughter-in-law."
"I overheard them saying that you designed this dress yourself. Is that true?" Joanna asked, thinking of Ashton’s alternate persona as she sought confirmation from him.
"Yes," Ashton admitted without hesitation.
"So you can design wedding dresses too?" Joanna was struck by how little she knew about this man she called her husband. Intrigued, she inquired further, "Did you study fashion design as well? When did you learn it?"
"I took some courses during college," Ashton said with a smile. "It was just a hobby, similar to my interest in jewelry design. After graduation, I started taking over the Heath Group, and these hobbies faded into the background."
"So I was a bit worried before designing this dress."
"What were you worried about?"
"I was worried that you wouldn’t like it." For one so self-assured, it seemed Ashton had lost his confidence in the face of his beloved. "You’ve just told me that you love it, so I feel much better now."
"Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?" Joanna wondered, upset that she’d learned of her soon-to-be husband’s efforts from someone else.
"I wanted to give you a surprise," Ashton said softly, his eyes brimming with tenderness. "I wasn’t sure if you would consider it a surprise or not."
"Of course, it definitely is a surprise," Joanna replied, her eyes shining brightly. "Ashton, I truly appreciate this amazing surprise and will cherish it always. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me."
With her single expression of gratitude, Ashton felt that all his efforts had been worthwhile.
He had spent so long preparing, all for a simple "thank you" from her.
