My Secret Billionaire Husband
Chapter 2969 - 2488: Making Full Use of Everything
The style of the jewelry was simple and elegant, yet extravagant. It was distinctly his style.
However, this time it was different from before. The previous set of jewelry he gave her had been rather understated.
This set of diamond jewelry in the box was flamboyantly blatant.
Especially the diamond embedded on the ring was somewhat... astonishingly large.
Compared to the dove-egg-sized diamond ring in the box, others were merely trifles.
The diamonds on the necklace were also astonishingly large, each of them.
The moment the box was opened, the light refracted from the diamonds nearly blinded Joanna Lawrence.
"Hmm, do you like it?" Ashton Heath stood behind her, leaned in, and held her narratively from behind. His masculine scent immediately surrounded her. His low and sexy voice dropped beside her ear, "I spent a lot of time selecting each of these diamonds."
"I... I like it..." Joanna turned around, reached for his neck, and gave a peck on his thin, sexy lips. "The jewelry is beautiful, I really like it. But..."
"Hmm? But what?" Ashton lowered his head to make it easier for her to kiss him.
"Isn’t the diamond on the jewelry too big? And, you must have spent a fortune on this set, right?"
Just the diamonds on the necklace, each one was almost as big as a dove egg.
Joanna recalled a certain female celebrity who had married into a wealthy family. The dove-egg-sized ring she wore then was widely reported by the media, claiming it to be a sky-high expensive diamond.
That ring, she remembered was priced over twenty million.
And now...
Her necklace alone had more than a dozen dove-egg-sized diamonds.
The diamond mounted on the ring was several times the size of a dove egg. And then there were the earrings adorned with dove-egg-sized diamonds. Joanna didn’t even dare to guess the price of this set.
She wasn’t wearing them yet but it felt as if her neck was already laden.
"Price is not an issue, as long as you like them." Ashton gently rubbed his fingers through her soft black hair, picked up the diamond ring from the box, and slid it slowly on her slender, fair finger.
Following an icy touch, the diamond ring comfortably rested on Joanna’s finger.
Ashton held her hand and admired it. The longing in his eyes was palpable. "Beautiful. I used to think, that this diamond would always be locked up in my safe and perhaps would never see the light of day."
Joanna blinked her eyes, curiously asked, "Why?"
Why would such a beautiful diamond be kept in a safe forever?
Ashton smirked, bent down to kiss her lips before explaining, "I bought this diamond in an auction. The purity was so high and it was so big that I had to buy it."
"No matter how good a diamond is, without a purpose, it would only be a waste. If I hadn’t met you, this diamond would have stayed in the safe for the rest of its life."
"Now it has served its purpose in making you smile."
Romantic words always had a way of melting hearts.
Joanna, thoroughly pleased, felt sweetness all over her heart, yet she spoke, "Even if you hadn’t met me, it wouldn’t necessarily have stayed in the safe forever."
"Hmm?"
"Even if you hadn’t met me, you would have gotten married eventually. So, it might have been worn by another woman."
"No." Ashton rejected the notion instantly, "If I hadn’t met you, it would never have been worn by another woman."
