My Streaming Life With SSS-Rank Girls With Want My Kids
Chapter 91: Possession
The morning after the bed started calmly.
Bram was on the kitchen ceiling when the three came down. He watched them arrive with the posture of someone who has been waiting a while but is in no hurry.
Kai made him some breakfast with what was in the house’s abandoned kitchen — the residents had left provisions that were still usable.
Bram watched him cook.
"Yesterday you moved my bed," Kai said.
"Yes."
"I kept sleeping."
"I noticed."
Kai served the plates.
Bram watched them eat with the expression of something that is making a decision.
Then he disappeared.
---
Lira was in the main room when Bram reappeared behind her.
And entered.
---
The first thing that changed was the posture.
Lira’s shoulders broadened — not physically, in the way they carried themselves. Her aristocratic vampiric posture replaced by the bearing of a B-rank hunter who had spent twenty years carrying heavy gear on missions.
The second was the voice.
"Well." Lira looked at her own hands — Lira’s hands, with the black gloves, which Bram-in-Lira examined.
"This is weird."
Serah looked at her from the entrance of the room.
"Lira?"
"Not exactly." Bram-in-Lira looked at Serah. "Hey, you’re the wolf, right? I’ve heard of the primordials. Never seen one up close."
Serah processed what she was seeing.
Her markings pulsed.
Then pulsed in another way.
"Bram?"
"Yes. This works better than I expected." Bram-in-Lira looked at the mirror in the room — the standing mirror the residents had left — and saw Lira’s reflection. "Ah. The vampire has a good appearance." A pause. "Why does she wear gloves inside the house?"
---
[DraconicLegacy: BRAM POSSESSED LIRA HAHAHAHAHA]
[Warwolf: "this works better than I expected" — Bram discovering bodies]
[Per_Sudin: "why does she wear gloves inside the house?" — Bram has valid questions]
[Udo_Ehmen: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂]
[Jack_Moore: Serah processing that Bram is in Lira. the markings pulsed in another way. that other way.]
[John_Bentley: viewers: 5,200,000. went up in thirty seconds.]
[Drakeking12: Lira’s posture changed completely. from eight hundred years of aristocracy to a hunter carrying a backpack.]
[Kalgarth: Serah has a face like she’s enjoying this more than she should.]
---
Kai came in from the kitchen.
Looked at Lira.
Looked at Serah.
"Bram?"
"Yes," Bram-in-Lira said.
"Hey, your human friend. The one who slept when I moved the bed."
"Yes."
"How do you do that?"
"Sleep?"
"Stay asleep when someone moves your bed."
"I was tired."
Bram-in-Lira processed this.
"Makes sense." He looked at Lira’s hands again. "This vampire has interesting strength. It feels different from the other bodies I tried before." He flexed the fingers. "The gloves are unnecessary. She has nice hands."
Serah covered her mouth.
Not entirely.
---
[DraconicLegacy: SERAH COVERED HER MOUTH SO SHE WOULDN’T LAUGH]
[Warwolf: "the gloves are unnecessary. she has nice hands." — Bram assessing Lira’s body]
[Per_Sudin: Kai answering questions from a ghost possessed in Lira with the same calm as always]
[Udo_Ehmen: 😂😂😂 SERAH TRYING NOT TO LAUGH 😂😂😂]
[Jack_Moore: "she has interesting strength. it feels different." — Bram not knowing he’s describing eight hundred years of SS existence]
[Drakeking12: Kai said "I was tired" when asked how he slept with the bed moving. correct.]
[Kalgarth: Bram taking off Lira’s gloves. that’s going to have consequences.]
---
Bram-in-Lira took off one glove.
Looked at the hand.
"The rank markings." He examined them with genuine interest. "In the Valdris guild, hunters have rank tattoos. I’d never seen the vampiric ones up close."
"They’re engraved," Kai said. "Not tattoos."
"Do they hurt?"
"I don’t know. I’m not a vampire."
"Right." Bram-in-Lira looked at Serah. "Do you know?"
Serah was actively processing several simultaneous emotions — the amusement of seeing Bram in Lira asking about vampiric rank engravings, the discomfort of Bram being in Lira in general.
"No," she said.
"Hm." Bram-in-Lira put the glove back on. "Well. This has been interesting."
And he left.
---
Lira’s body became Lira again in the same second Bram left — the posture, the bearing.
Lira looked at her own hands.
Looked at the glove Bram had taken off and put back on.
Looked at Serah.
Serah didn’t cover her mouth this time.
"Don’t say anything," Lira said.
"I didn’t say anything."
"Your face said something."
"My face didn’t say anything."
Serah’s markings pulsed.
Lira sat in her chair.
She didn’t say anything for ten minutes.
---
[DraconicLegacy: "your face said something" / "my face didn’t say anything" — SERAH]
[Warwolf: Lira looking at the glove Bram took off and put back on. processing.]
[Per_Sudin: forty seconds of possession and Lira doesn’t speak for ten minutes. proportional.]
[Udo_Ehmen: 😂😂😂 Serah’s markings holding something back 😂😂😂]
[Jack_Moore: Kai looking at the ceiling where Bram probably is. neutral face.]
[John_Bentley: viewers: 6,100,000.]
[Drakeking12: the most awkward moment on the stream.]
[Kalgarth: Bram was polite. took the glove off and put it back on. has manners for a ghost.]
---
Bram reappeared on the ceiling of Serah’s bedroom mid-morning.
Serah looked at him.
"No," she said.
"Just a moment."
"No."
"To see how it feels."
"No."
Bram considered his options.
He entered anyway.
---
The first thing that changed was the markings.
Serah’s silver markings pulsed with the completely irregular rhythm of something that didn’t know how to handle the system it had entered.
The second was the voice.
"Alright." Bram-in-Serah looked at her own hands — the claws partially out because Serah’s primordial instinct responded to her emotional state and Bram didn’t know how to deactivate them. "This is substantial."
Kai reached the door.
Lira reached it behind him.
Both looked at Bram-in-Serah.
"Hey." Bram-in-Serah raised a hand — the claws he hadn’t expected. "Are these normal?"
"In Serah, yes," Kai said.
"And can they be controlled?"
"Normally, yes."
"How?"
Kai looked at the claws.
Looked at the markings pulsing irregularly.
"Breathe."
Bram-in-Serah breathed.
The markings didn’t stabilize because Bram didn’t know how to stabilize them, but they dropped one degree of irregularity.
"Better?"
"A little." Bram-in-Serah looked at Lira. "You’re the vampire?"
"Yes," Lira said, with the tone of someone deciding whether they find this amusing or not.
"I saw your rank engravings before."
"I know."
"Do they hurt?"
"No."
"Good." Bram-in-Serah looked at the room. "This one has a lot of energy. It feels like being inside something that’s always working." A pause. "Like an engine."
The markings pulsed.
Then Serah returned.
---
[DraconicLegacy: THE MARKINGS PULSING IRREGULARLY IS THE WEIRDEST THING I’VE SEEN ON THIS STREAM]
[Warwolf: "it feels like being inside something that’s always working. like an engine." — Bram describing Serah perfectly without knowing it]
[Per_Sudin: Kai told a ghost in an SSS’s body to "breathe." it partially worked.]
[Udo_Ehmen: (°ロ°) (°ロ°) THE IRREGULAR MARKINGS (°ロ°) (°ロ°)]
[Jack_Moore: Bram asked if the engravings hurt. Bram has consistent questions about the two bodies he used.]
[John_Bentley: viewers: 7,300,000. each possession raises the number.]
[Drakeking12: Serah regained control faster than Lira. SSS vs SS in possession resistance. correct.]
[Kalgarth: Kai looking at Serah-Bram with the same calm. asked if the claws were normal. answered. moved on.]
---
Serah recovered her body and stayed still for a moment.
She looked at her hands.
The claws retracted on their own.
The markings returned to their steady pulse.
Then she looked at Lira.
Lira looked at her.
"Engine," Lira said.
"Aristocracy with gloves," Serah said.
The two looked at each other.
---
[DraconicLegacy: "engine" / "aristocracy with gloves" — the two using what Bram said as insults]
[Warwolf: HAHAHAHA they’re insulting each other with a ghost’s observations]
[Per_Sudin: this escalates in three seconds]
[Udo_Ehmen: 😂😂😂😂😂]
[Jack_Moore: the ghost they should be exorcising just provided fight material for both of them. well done Bram.]
[Drakeking12: Kai looking at the ceiling where Bram probably is. face of someone who knows exactly what’s going to happen.]
[Kalgarth: Bram watching this from somewhere. quite entertaining, as he said.]
---
The argument lasted twelve minutes.
Kai listened to it from the main room with the low fire.
Bram appeared beside him — not on the ceiling, beside him, sitting on the floor the same way Kai had the day before.
Both listened to Serah and Lira in the upstairs bedroom.
"Are they always like this?" Bram said.
"Mainly, yes."
"And you’re in the middle?"
"Mainly, yes."
Bram processed this.
"Doesn’t it bother you?"
Kai considered it.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because both are right about their own thing and both know it and that’s why it doesn’t end." Kai looked at the fire. "If one were right and the other weren’t, it would end."
Bram looked at the fire too.
"That’s more philosophical than I expected from a rankless hunter."
"I’m not a rankless hunter."
"I know. That’s why it’s more philosophical."
---
[DraconicLegacy: BRAM SAT BESIDE KAI]
[Warwolf: "doesn’t it bother you?" / "no" — Kai in two words]
[Per_Sudin: "if one were right and the other weren’t, it would end" — Kai describing Serah and Lira’s dynamic perfectly]
[Udo_Ehmen: ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ KAI ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ]
[Jack_Moore: Bram and Kai sitting on the floor watching the fire while Serah and Lira argue upstairs. this is the best Chapter of the arc.]
[John_Bentley: viewers: 8,200,000.]
[Drakeking12: "that’s more philosophical than I expected from a rankless hunter" — Bram has respect for Kai now.]
[Kalgarth: the ghost and the rankless human sitting watching the fire. two people who don’t fit where they are but are there anyway.]
---
He tried to possess Kai twenty minutes later.
Not with malice — with the same curiosity with which he had entered Lira and Serah.
He reached the edge of Kai’s resonance Qi and stopped.
Not because Kai was blocking him — because something in the space Kai occupied didn’t yield.
Bram pulled away.
"I can’t."
Kai looked at him.
"Why?"
"There’s something inside that doesn’t move." Bram gestured vaguely in Kai’s direction. "Like the space is already occupied even though it seems like it isn’t."
"Is that normal?"
"I don’t know, honestly. I guess you’re strange." Bram looked at him.
"And the high-ranking entities?"
"The SSS ones, yes. The wolf has something similar but different — more like a wall. Yours is more like..." Bram searched for the word. "Noise. Like static on a frequency that prevents entry."
Kai looked at his own hands.
"The resonance Qi."
"I don’t know what that is."
"Neither do I, entirely."
---
[DraconicLegacy: (°ロ°) THE PASSIVE RESONANCE QI BLOCKS POSSESSION]
[Warwolf: Bram described Kai’s Qi as "static on a frequency that prevents entry." that’s the most precise description it’s ever had]
[Per_Sudin: "I don’t know what that is" / "neither do I, entirely" — Bram and Kai at the same level of information about Kai]
[Udo_Ehmen: ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ]
[Jack_Moore: SSS entities have something similar but different. Kai’s Qi is unique even compared to SSS entities.]
[Drakeking12: Bram has more information about Kai’s Qi than the system in some respects. interesting.]
[Kalgarth: @Drakeking12 a ghost that has tried to possess an SSS and an SS and Kai has unique comparative perspective. correct.]
---
Serah and Lira came down when the argument ended.
They found Kai and Bram in the main room.
Sitting.
Watching the fire.
Serah looked at them.
Lira looked at them.
"Are you talking?" Serah said.
"Yes," Kai said.
"With the ghost?"
"Yes."
Lira looked at Bram.
"Didn’t you try to possess him?"
"Yes," Bram said.
"And?"
"I couldn’t."
Lira processed this with the expression of someone assessing whether what they feel about it is what they should feel.
"Engine," Serah said quietly, without taking her eyes off Bram.
"Gloves," Lira said without looking at her.
Both lunged at each other — Serah with her claws and Lira with her blood threads.
Kai looked at Bram.
"Is this entertaining for you?"
Bram considered.
"Quite."
---
The fire died down through the rest of the afternoon.
At six, when the northern sector light came through the closed windows at the angle of something ending, Kai asked Bram the direct question.
"What’s the matter?"
Bram didn’t answer right away.
He looked at the fire.
Looked at his own translucent hands.
Kai waited.
Serah waited.
Lira waited.
"I promised someone I’d come back," Bram finally said.
No one answered.
"From the eastern sector mission. I told her I’d come back." A long pause. "I didn’t come back."
The fire made its sound.
"And that person," Bram continued, "never knew what happened."
---
[DraconicLegacy: (╥_╥)]
[Warwolf: there it is. the unresolved business.]
[Per_Sudin: two months in that house waiting because he can’t leave without that person knowing.]
[Udo_Ehmen: 。゚(゚´ω`゚)゚。]
[Jack_Moore: Bram didn’t tell them in two days. he told them when Kai waited long enough sitting on the floor.]
[John_Bentley: viewers: 9,100,000. no one left.]
[Drakeking12: the ghost who moved Kai’s bed and possessed Lira and Serah and yawned at all the exorcists has been waiting two months for this.]
[Kalgarth: "I promised someone I’d come back. I didn’t come back." — eight words that explain the two months.]
