My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 637: Not Interested
"Harold" came Chloe Summers’ voice, slurred with intoxication from the other side.
Leon Rivers furrowed his brows and reminded her, "Take a closer look before you call; I’m your brother Leon."
"Oh, it’s Dr. Rivers," Chloe seemed genuinely drunk, "I’m at the bar entrance now, I’m really drunk, can you get Harold to come pick me up? Tell him if he doesn’t come, I’ll end up sleeping on the main road, and who knows, I might even get picked up by someone."
Leon Rivers instructed, "Wait there for me." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
But when he turned around, he discovered Harold Chapman and Jared Quinn had already left.
"Oh man," Leon grabbed his coat and rushed to the bar.
In the car, Melody Thorne received a call from Kiki Sutton, "Melody, where have you been? Why haven’t you come to the hospital these past few days?"
As she asked, Kiki raised her eyes to look at Hans Montrose on the hospital bed.
"I’ve been pretty busy these days," Melody Thorne leaned against the window, "Didn’t Leon Rivers go to the hospital today? He said Hans Montrose could be saved, so I’m relieved."
Kiki hesitated, "Are you really that busy?"
"Of course, today Jared and I went to try on wedding dresses," Melody Thorne smiled slightly, "We’re planning to have another wedding, although the date isn’t set yet. Maybe after Hans recovers, you can all come."
The petite woman spoke in a light and boastful tone on the phone, while Jared Quinn drove steadily, a barely perceptible curve at the corner of his lips.
"You went to try on wedding dresses with Jared?" Kiki’s voice increased by several decibels on the phone, unable to hide her happiness for her,
"Yes, so I probably won’t be going to the hospital in the next few days," Melody Thorne smoothly brought the topic back.
"Then you guys stay busy, stay busy," Kiki hung up, looked at Hans Montrose on the bed, and her voice held a vague sense of excitement, "Melody said she’s busy preparing for the wedding these days and might not have time."
As she spoke, she clearly saw a change in Hans Montrose’s eyes, almost forgetting his feelings for Melody Thorne,
"I’m sorry," Kiki began.
"It’s okay, I’ll wish them well," Hans Montrose replied with a warm smile, though it didn’t reach his eyes.
"Hmm," Kiki also smiled, "Do you want some supper? I can go down and get it now."
"Kiki," Hans suddenly interrupted her, "There’s something you should know: it’s impossible between Melody and me, but it’s just as impossible between you and me. I regard you as a sister."
If Kiki hadn’t grown up with Melody Thorne, perhaps he wouldn’t even notice her.
Kiki’s body trembled slightly, forcing herself to stay calm, "Don’t worry, I’m not interested in you either. If we weren’t friends, do you think I’d have so much free time to come here?"
Hans looked at her thoughtfully, "That’s good."
"Do you want supper? If not, it’s getting late, and I should go back," Kiki pointed toward the door.
"No, thank you," Hans closed his eyes.
"You’re welcome, then I’m leaving," Kiki left the ward, covering her chest with one hand, where it was constantly aching,
He probably didn’t realize that her so-called return to the room was actually returning to her room, the adjacent ward.
At night, Kiki couldn’t sleep, fearing Hans would discover her feelings, and then they couldn’t even be friends.
