My Supernatural Girlfriends Spoils Me Rotten - Chapter 389: Lies or Truth?

Translate to:

Pantheon could hear the loneliness in his voice. Genuine.

Maybe R wasn't planning to kill them after all. Not yet.

(Do you know how to escape this place?)

R smiled. "Yes, I do. But it will only work if both of you grow stronger. The energy needed to break out of this place is huge—much more than either of you have now."

(Can you help us, Senior? You're strong enough… right?)

Shaking his head, R let out a short breath. "This place was built to hold me. Anything tied to my power would just makes it stronger. If you want out, you'll have to earn it yourselves."

Pantheon paused, thinking. The entire place was made of bones, and the only energy around was thick with bloodlust and death.

Taking in that energy would drive them mad—turning them into beasts fast

It was even a miracle that someone could remain so calm in this place for an extended period of time.

Maybe the evil inside R ran so deep that this kind of environment felt no different than breathing. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Then it hit him—the Genesis Crystals.

He hadn't seen the crystals when they were thrown around. Maybe Asher stored them in his space bag before passing out.

However—

Pantheon couldn't open the bag without Asher's permission. He'd have to wait for him to wake

(Senior, I don't think this place is good for my friend's recovery. Is there somewhere with less bloodlust?)

R touched his chin for a moment. Then he raised his fingers.

Golden light formed a barrier around them. The sea of bones changed into grassy land, and the air grew clearer and more refreshing.

"It costs a lot of divine energy to maintain this place, but I can keep it up until your friend wakes."

(Thank you, Senior. You've done too much for us. I don't know how to repay your kindness.)

"Don't mention it. I'm just glad to have visitors after such a long time. By the way, can you tell me your story? I'm curious how you ended up here."

Seeing no reason to refuse, Pantheon started his story. He was an Ancient Dragon who once served Gregory, the Dragon Monarch.

R didn't recognize the name, which meant either he was older than Pantheon or time flowed differently in this place.

There were many possibilities. After all, time and space weren't as simple as most believed.

They twisted and bent in ways that defied common sense.

What seemed like the past to one could be the present—or even the future—to another. In a place like this, where reality itself felt unstable, those rules mattered even less.

But one thing was certain: R was even stronger than the SSS+ Rank Pantheon knew.

If he lived in Pantheon's time, everyone would have known him—especially since he wielded both divine and demonic powers.

Someone like that would be famous, feared, or at least remembered across the universe.

But no records of him came to mind—at least none Pantheon could remember.

Both of them kept talking. For two people who had been living for who knows how long, there was no shortage of stories to share.

After a while, Pantheon leaned forward, his voice quieter now. "Mind if I ask something?"

R tilted his head. "Go ahead."

"How did you end up here?" Pantheon asked. "And who could possibly trap someone like you in a place like this?"

"That's a long story," he said. "But since we've got time, I'll tell you what I remember."

He didn't dramatize it—just laid the facts bare, one after another.

"I didn't lose because I was outmatched," he said, eyes fixed on the ground. "I just... stopped fighting."

Pantheon narrowed his eyes. "You gave up?"

R nodded slowly. "After countless years of nonstop battles, something in me broke. It wasn't fear. Just exhaustion. Fighting became meaningless."

(So, who exactly sent you to this place? ) Pantheon asked, his voice low.

"You're better off not knowing," R said as he stood up, ending the conversation without another word.

Respecting his decision, Pantheon stayed silent and closed his eyes, focusing on recovering his energy.

Right now, he was at SSS Rank—but if Asher really had the remaining Genesis Stone, then reaching SSS+ wasn't impossible.

Once Asher caught up and reached SSS Rank too, they would have a real chance at breaking out of this place.

Pantheon noticed faint distortions in the air, proof that teleportation wasn't completely sealed—he just needed to find a way to open it wide enough.

Just as he was thinking about his next plan, Asher began to wake up.

"My head hurts," he grumbled.

(Brat, you're finally awake. Can't believe you passed out just like that. You need more training,) Pantheon said with a grin, slapping Asher's back.

Asher didn't say anything at first. He was still groggy and feeling weak.

When his vision finally cleared, he discovered that he was in the middle of a grassland, with hills rising in the distance.

What he didn't know was that this place was just an illusion—created using divine power.

"Who are you?" Asher asked, turning toward R, who now stood in his angel form.

Asher hated angels. Just sensing the divine energy radiating from R was enough to put him on edge.

(Brat, stop staring at your savior like that. He helped you recover,)

"Help me?" he repeated, still feeling suspicious.

R calmed things down by explaining,

"Your soul contains a mark made of void energy. Since you were growing strong too fast, it couldn't keep up, and you ended up in a comatose state. Don't worry, I didn't change anything—I only strengthened what was already there. Whoever put that in you is very powerful, so even if I wanted to, I couldn't change it."

"What mark?" Asher stood up, eyes narrowing. The only person he knew connected to the void was his wife, Index.

R tapped his chin, hesitating. "Do you really want to know what it is?"

"Of course I do. We're talking about my soul here," Asher demanded, his voice higher than he intended.

Unlike Pantheon, he couldn't feel how powerful the being in front of him was.

R glanced at Pantheon. Since this was a personal matter, it wasn't easy to reveal.

(Tell him, He has the right to know.)

With the ancient dragon's approval, R began, "Your soul was created artificially using Divine Energy. It's basically a copy of another soul. Without the mark placed later, the original personality would have taken over. But the mark slowed that process just enough for you to grow stronger, so you don't need to worry about being consumed."

Asher listened quietly, half expecting this already.

What surprised him was realizing that Index did something he didn't know about.

"You said whoever left this mark is very powerful. What exactly do you mean?"

A brief silence fell as R considered how to explain it clearly.

"Like I said before, your soul was made from Divine energy. But now, because of the mark, you don't rely on that energy anymore. For this to happen, the one who put the mark on your soul has to be much stronger than the person who created your soul in the first place."

(Brat, if my guess is right, the person who created your soul is at least SSS+ Rank. So you get what that means, right? Index is—)

"Shut up!" Asher snapped, cutting him off.

"Index? Are you talking about that girl with purple hair?" R said casually.

Both Asher and Pantheon turned toward him. Even Pantheon didn't know what she looked like.

"You know her?" Asher asked, eyes narrowing.

R let out a laugh, shaking his head. "Fate has a twisted sense of humor. What goes around really does come back around."

"Stop playing games with me. How do you know my wife?" Asher's aura rose up from his body.

"Relax. I don't know her personally. But I once fought a being in the void that warned me about a certain existence. That thing was so powerful, it forced me into hiding for countless years before I got strong enough to face and destroy it. So you can imagine my shock when it told me someone even stronger was out there."

"Your so-called wife is dangerous. You should count yourself lucky you got separated from her."

"You're lying…" Asher clenched his fists, anger rising.

Pantheon stepped in before things could get worse.

(Brat, do you want to die? He is stronger than SSS+ Rank. Watch your mouth.)

Instead of listening, Asher glared at the ancient dragon.

"You told him about Index, didn't you? So you could stop me from rescuing her from the void!"

Asher expected Pantheon to talk back, but R was the first to break the silence.

"Young man, I advise you not to do that. There's a reason certain beings are trapped in the void. You're gambling with the fate of the entire universe."

"Shut up. I don't believe you."

Asher was so blinded by love that the idea of Index being a danger to the universe didn't matter to him at all.

R sighed. "I see. Maybe this is why you two were sent to this place. The universe is giving me a mission to atone for my sins."

A golden sword materialized in his hand, and he pointed it at Asher.

"Young man, I must kill you here to stop you from doing something irreversible."

Asher sneered "So you finally showed your true colors,"

Dragon scales appeared on his skin as he prepared for battle.

(Brat, stop. You don't stand a chance against him.)

"I'd rather die trying than let this stranger accused my wife."
