My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!
Chapter 109- Brianna Luthor
Chapter 109- Brianna Luthor
After eating lunch together, the two went back to their classroom as usual. There, Elio found Brianna had already sat back where she was initially, and she looked quite impatient, waiting for him to come back as she stared at the door every other second as if she was unable to sense his presence without looking.
When she saw him, her eyes lit up as she smiled and waved at him. Elio pursed his lips and approached her.
"Did you eat your lunch, Elio?" She asked.
"Yeah, you?"
"Of course. I hope that girl didn’t bother you." Brianna said. "I know you don’t like being around people like her."
"Well, I always eat lunch with Fiona, so it isn’t that big of a deal. I feel at ease around her."
’At ease?!’ Brianna flinched, hearing that. She forced a smile on her face. ’I’m going to kill her. I’m definitely going to kill her. Who does she think she is seducing my Elio?!’
It took a lot of mental power to calm herself and her overwhelming jealousy. This was arguably the worst situation for Brianna. Of all people Elio could’ve become close with, it had to be Fiona Vaylor.
As much as she hates that girl and as much as their past hasn’t been that great, she would be lying if she didn’t say that Fiona was an amazing woman by every metric.
She was beautiful beyond belief, incredibly smart, strong, rich, and very influential. She was the ideal partner for any man in the world. Trying to rival her wasn’t going to be easy, especially when Brianna came around very late after the two got to know each other and potentially developed feelings.
’From the way she looked at me earlier. She doesn’t just see him as a tool. I can tell, but knowing her, she probably isn’t aware of it. I need to take the opportunity of that and make my move.’
Brandishing herself, Brianna looked at Elio. "Hey, Elio. Can I ask you something?"
"What’s up?"
"Can we go to the mall after school?" She asked.
"Hmmm, I honestly don’t think I can today. I will be busy after school. Can we do it another day? I will tell you when I’m free."
"... Yeah, I understand." Brianna nodded her head as she forced a smile. She felt sad that she couldn’t go with him, but since he was busy, she couldn’t really force him to come with her.
In the end, he at least didn’t turn down the offer, which was good enough for the time being.
With that, the class started as usual. Brianna was able to remain next to Elio the entire time, sharing the book with him since she didn’t have hers yet. She was also able to talk with him every now and then, which made her really happy.
Eventually, the day came to an end, and she had to be separated from Elio even though she wished to spend more time with him. Bidding him farewell, she left the school and took a taxi.
Moving to the other side of town, she reached her apartement which was located in a very good neighborhood. Even though she wanted a more humble apartment, her father refused to budge and only accepted that she move to this city on his terms.
So, she had to accept that she would live in a rather luxurious apartment for the time being. Perhaps in the future, she could move out of it to a location closer to Elio.
Entering her apartment, Brianna put her keys and bag aside and threw herself on her bed in her room. She sighed as she buried her face into the pillow.
"Well... This didn’t go as badly as I expected..." She muttered. "I was so nervous when I finally saw him that I didn’t know what to do. I might’ve creeped him out. You idiot, Bri!" She cursed herself for her stupidity.
She knew that being this direct might make Elio feel off and would potentially harm any attempt to establish a friendship with him again. But she simply couldn’t resist after seeing him again for the first time in years.
She simply couldn’t stop herself from hugging him, smelling him, and feeling his warmth again. This was her Elio, alive and well, before her; how could she resist?
"He looks so handsome... He really grew up into such a fine man." She muttered under her breath, her face blushing faintly. "Aaaaaaah, I’m so embarrassed! I can’t! I can’tttt!!!" Kicking and punching her bed, she tried to forget about the embarrassing situation.
Then, she remembered another face that made her stop and rise from the bed.
"That wicked woman, Fiona Vaylor! She is laying eyes on my Elio! I won’t let her steal him from me, not on my dead corpse!" She said. "You will have to kill me to get him, Fiona. You will never love him as much as I love him. I dedicate my life to him, while you’re just a girl obsessed with being the protagonist!"
All her encounters with Fiona had been nothing short of disastrous. She just hated Fiona for everything about her. She hated how brilliant she is, how she captures the attention of everyone wherever she goes, and how she lives that ’hero’ life.
’She thinks she’s the main character, and she can get anything she wants. Hmph! I will show you the reality of things! Not everything can be taken simply because of who you are.’ Brianna said as she clenched her fist.
After that, Brianna stood up and walked into the shower. She usually takes her showers in the evening; this was something she did every single day for years now. The reason for this habit was that she used to shower before going to see Elio as kids. She wanted to always smell good for him. That habit stuck with her till now.
After the shower, she changed her clothes and sat down to do some work. As the daughter of the Luthor Corp, she had many responsibilities. She even had a clear role in the company from a young age.
Field Hunter and Inspector. Her role was to hunt Vampires and to investigate any situation within her area of work, which was now this entire city. Her company didn’t have enough presence within it as it was fully controlled by Vaylor, and they refused to spare any territory for any other clan or company.
’Luckily, my dad wanted to find someone for the role, so he accepted it more easily.’ She giggled. She hadn’t spared her dad a day ever since she knew where Elio was. She wanted to move here as soon as possible, and he initially refused, but being his little princess, he could never resist her desire, so he eventually accepted.
"Hmmmm... Let’s see now."
Turning her computer on, she logged into a particular app. Upon opening it, a map of the city appeared before her and the map had particular red dots in it that kept pulsating like radars.
These were small Blood Energy detectors she had planted secretly in key locations in the city to detect any Vampire Hunter presence. Since they were small, they didn’t clash with the main detectors Vaylor uses, and they wouldn’t really mind it, as there were many other such detectors planted all across the city.
"Hmmm, the city is quite eventful these days. The attacks have particularly increased lately." She muttered as she took a bite of her snack. ’But, Vaylors seem to be controlling the situation somewhat decently.’
Brianna knew better not to try to cross paths with Vaylor in any way because that would put unwanted eyes on her, and that was not good. She had to choose her moves carefully, and luckily, she was the best in her field, so she knew how to work around such restrictions.
"Now, let’s see..."
Then, she started registering her logs as a standard procedure before sending the data to the main headquarters, where they could keep track of every major city. Luthor Corp wasn’t merely a company for Vampire Hunters, it was also specialized in potion-making, swordcraft, and even pharmaceuticals.
The data they gathered was crucial for their work and their partners. As Brianna was doing her work, she noticed something rather odd.
One of her detectors suddenly went off out of nowhere and made her look up.
"Hmm?"
It started ringing slowly, indicating that someone with Blood Energy within their body was nearby. That was not that uncommon, and she was about to simply write it down and move on.
Then, the detector started beeping faster and faster with every passing second.
"What is happening?" She muttered. "This isn’t one person... A group of Hunters? No..."
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
The beeping only increased, and then, out of nowhere, it spread to other detectors. Brianna’s eyes widened for a second.
This was far from something normal.
Most of her detectors went off out of nowhere. That meant one of two things...Either they were all bugging or...
’Vampires are appearing everywhere around the city?’
