Chapter 150: Chapter 150: We will gladly share one room

Xiong Han lifted the heavy cooking stone as if it weighed nothing. Shui Lang carried water over and made a show of almost spilling it near Bao Xun’s tail, which earned him a cold panther glare. Ying Zhe took the higher branch perch for a moment and looked out over the tribe, his wings shifting as he checked the night paths. Lin Weishan spoke quietly with one of the guards near the entrance, still alert because of the snake beastman and now the merman threat too.

Lin Huahua yawned before she could stop herself.

It was a small yawn, but her ears drooped at the same time, and her tail curled lazily around her foot.

All three of her males noticed.

Of course they noticed.

Mu Qingyi was already standing behind her with a soft hide ready. Hu Baiyu’s hand moved toward her shoulder, wanting to steady her. Feng Yiren’s eyes softened for half a breath before he hid it with a scoff.

"Tired already?" he asked. "You talked so much even the Dream Beast God must be exhausted."

Lin Huahua glared sleepily. "You are jealous because my stories are good."

"I am jealous because people believe them."

"They are true stories."

"Of course. From the head injury god."

Lin Huahua reached for a leftover fruit pit.

Feng Yiren moved slightly out of range before she could throw it.

Bai Ruyue looked at the sky, then at her daughter’s sleepy face, and her expression softened. "It is already too late to walk back comfortably."

Lin Huahua blinked. "We can go back."

Her mother reached over and touched her cheek gently. "Why go back when you can stay here tonight? Your room from when you were younger is still prepared, and your males can stay with you. Share the room and rest here until morning."

The moment Bai Ruyue said that Lin Huahua and her males should share one room for the night, Lin Huahua’s whole face turned red so fast that even the fire in front of them seemed to lose face.

She had been sitting there feeling sleepy and warm from the night food, her white rat ears drooping softly and her fluffy tail curled around her leg, but the moment those words entered her ears, every bit of sleep ran away from her body like it had seen a predator. Her lips parted. Her small hands tightened on the fur beneath her, and for a few breaths, she could only stare at her mother as if Bai Ruyue had just calmly told her to go wrestle a wild bear with her bare hands.

Share a room?

With all three of them?

It was already difficult for her to sleep beside Mu Qingyi sometimes, because that deer beastman was too gentle, too warm, and too good at making her heart feel strange. If he breathed too close, she would blush.

If his arm accidentally rested around her waist, she would freeze like a guilty thief. If he touched her hair in the morning and asked whether she slept well, her brain would start running around in circles like a little animal trapped in a basket.

Now her mother wanted her to sleep in one room with Mu Qingyi, Hu Baiyu, and Feng Yiren at the same time.

Lin Huahua slowly turned her head to look at the three males.

Mu Qingyi looked calm, but his deer ears had already turned slightly toward her, and the soft warmth in his brown eyes clearly showed that he had heard everything and was waiting for her reaction. Hu Baiyu’s lion ears had perked forward, his blue eyes wide and hopeful, and although he sat very still, his tail behind him gave one tiny excited sweep against the ground. Feng Yiren was the worst. The fox beastman looked like the beast gods had finally handed him the greatest reward after making him run around with herbs and then scolding him in front of everyone.

His red fox ears stood high.

His red tail swished slowly.

His mouth curved.

Lin Huahua saw that smile and immediately knew this shameless fox was about to say something that would make her want to bury him under the fire stones.

Sure enough, Feng Yiren stepped forward before she could refuse.

"Yes, yes," he said at once, his tone so serious that it sounded fake because everyone could hear the joy hiding inside it. "We will gladly share one room. The night air is cold, and after what happened today, our female should not be left alone or allowed to catch a cold. We are her males, so naturally we should stay close and keep her warm."

Lin Huahua turned to glare at him.

Feng Yiren looked back at her with a bright, shameless face.

Keep her warm?

This fox had clearly forgotten that he was the same person who had just been forced to run back home to bring herbs as punishment. Now he was already climbing onto the next opportunity with both hands, both feet, and probably his tail too.

"You are really thoughtful," Bai Ruyue said softly, but the smile on her face showed she was not fooled at all.

Shui Lang, the otter beastman, almost choked on his water.

Xiong Han gave Feng Yiren a long look, as if judging whether this fox was pretending badly on purpose.

Ying Zhe’s hawk eyes moved from Feng Yiren to Lin Huahua and back again, clearly entertained. Bao Xun said nothing, but the slow movement of his black panther tail showed that even he found the situation funny.

Lin Huahua’s ears flattened from embarrassment. "I did not say I agreed."

Feng Yiren immediately looked at Bai Ruyue, then at Lin Weishan, then back at Lin Huahua with a sorrowful expression that was so fake it almost became impressive. "Did you hear that? She does not want us to protect her. After she nearly got dragged underwater by a merman today, she still wants to sleep alone like nothing happened."
