In the central zone of God Valley, Rocks D. Xebec walked out, crunching the shattered gravel beneath his boots. His wild black hair thrashed violently in the wind. Dark red Conqueror's Haki boiled in the air around him like bubbling asphalt. The cloud layer above was forcibly torn into a massive vortex by the sheer magnitude of his power.
The surrounding temperature plummeted, and every breath of air carried the pungent, stinging scent of blood.
The overlord of the old era, a man with a bounty topping 4 billion Beri, was utterly enraged. He had planned to trap the Celestial Dragons and the Marine's highest forces in one fell swoop, stepping over their corpses to claim the Empty Throne. Yet, before his grand scheme could unfold, his four strongest combatants had been turned into mud at the bottom of a pit.
Rocks stopped. He stared at the Marine Vice Admiral still picking his nose in the distance, and the other Marine standing atop the Buddha's head rubbing his smooth chin. A cruel, sadistic curve warped Rocks's mouth.
"Garp. Sengoku. You two Marine lapdogs have really opened my eyes today."
Rocks's voice wasn't loud, but every word slammed into the hearts of everyone present like a sledgehammer. The Marines watching from afar felt as though they were suffocating under the pressure. Even the young Admiral Kong felt a tightness in his chest.
Garp flicked his booger away and burst into a loud laugh. "Yo. If it isn't Rocks. And here I thought you were hiding in some rat hole, too scared to come out."
Garp dusted off his hands and shouted back toward Sengoku. "Take a break, Sengoku! This big guy is mine. I'm going to beat the crap out of him today."
Standing on the wooden golem's head, Sengoku rolled his eyes. "Hurry up and finish him. My experience is ticking away by the second. I didn't pay two hundred million Beri just for you to have all the fun."
Listening to their exchange, the veins on Rocks's forehead throbbed violently. These two Marines were treating him like prey to be casually divvied up. He was Rocks! The most terrifying man on the seas!
"Arrogant fools!"
Rocks let out an earth-shaking roar. He drew his sword from his waist, instantly coating the blade entirely in pitch-black Armament Haki. Advanced Ryuo formed an incredibly dangerous, dark red halo along the edge.
He didn't waste any more breath. His legs exploded with force, the ground collapsing beneath him into a crater dozens of meters wide. Rocks transformed into a black bolt of lightning, crossing a distance of a thousand meters in an instant, appearing directly above Garp's head.
"Go to hell!"
Rocks gripped his sword with both hands, bringing it down with a terrifying force meant to cleave the entire island in two. The slash carved a visible vacuum fault into the air. The piercing sonic boom forced the observing Marines in the distance to cover their ears.
Garp didn't even attempt to dodge. He didn't even use Armament Haki. He simply raised his right arm, cloaked in green Sage chakra.
Clang! A massive crash rang out. Rocks's blade hacked heavily into Garp's arm, sending a shower of sparks flying. A violent shockwave expanded frantically outward from the point of impact, peeling yet another layer of topsoil off the earth.
Rocks's pupils contracted sharply. He felt as though his sword had just struck an unshakeable block of divine iron. The immense recoil sent a numbing shock through the webbing of his hands. This was a full-power strike! Even Whitebeard wouldn't dare block it with his flesh. What kind of monster was this Marine named Garp?!
Garp grinned. "Not bad strength. A little better than that Newgate brat. But that's all it is."
Garp's left hand suddenly shot out, grabbing the blade of the sword. The terrifying physical strength of his Sage Body fully erupted. Rocks desperately tried to wrench his sword free, only to find the blade completely immobilized, as if clamped in a steel vise.
"Now it's my turn!"
Garp ripped his right fist back to his waist. Blue electrical arcs danced across his fingertips as he activated his Lightning Chakra Mode. Immediately after, a blinding white light gathered over his fist. The power of the perfected Tremor-Tremor Fruit was pushed to its absolute limit, combined with the terrifying amplification of the Eight Inner Gates' Seventh Gate. This single punch coalesced every cheat Garp had paid for.
"Fist Bone: Sage Art: Thunderous Great Atmospheric Quake!"
Garp threw the punch. The speed of the strike was so immense that even Rocks's Observation Haki couldn't fully track it. The air was blown apart, and space itself caved in over a massive area. White tremor cracks spread frantically through the air like a spiderweb.
Rocks barely managed to focus all of his Armament Haki into his chest in time.
BOOM! Garp's fist slammed solidly into Rocks's chest. Rocks's proud advanced Armament Haki defenses were torn apart like wet paper. The violent forces of lightning and vibration flooded into his body simultaneously. Rocks heard the sickening crunch of his own ribcage shattering. A massive spray of blood erupted from his mouth as he was blasted backward like a fired cannonball, flying even faster than when he had charged in.
Rocks's massive body left an afterimage in the air, smashing through countless hard rocks along the way before finally slamming heavily into a massive mountain peak at the center of God Valley. The entire mountain let out a painful groan, snapping in the middle and collapsing. A sky full of dust completely buried Rocks from sight.
The battlefield plunged into deathly silence once more. Everyone stared in utter disbelief. That was Rocks! The strongest man on the seas! And he couldn't even handle a single punch from Garp.
Young Admiral Kong swallowed heavily, feeling his brain failing to process the situation. Garp was just a troublemaker at Marine Headquarters. How did he turn into such an unreasonable monster in God Valley?
Standing on the wooden golem's head, Sengoku curled his lip. "Go easy on him, Garp. Don't kill him in one punch. I haven't had my fill yet."
Garp shook the lightning from his hand and shouted toward the collapsed mountain. "Hey! Rocks, stop playing dead! I know you won't go down that easily! Hurry up and crawl out so we can keep fighting!"
A violent fit of coughing echoed from the ruins. A massive boulder was blown away by a surge of black air. Rocks stepped out from the billowing dust. He looked miserable—his chest was heavily caved in, and blood soaked his clothes.
Yet, the aura radiating from him was even more terrifying than before. Dark red Conqueror's Haki intertwined with an unknown black energy, and his eyes were overflowing with madness and murderous intent.
