Ding!

[One of your "Undead Skeletons" has been killed.]

And less than a second after, another notification followed in quick succession.

Ding!

[One of your "Undead Skeletons" has been killed.]

Then a third notification appeared, but this one was different and completely unexpected.

Ding!

[Your "Undead Skeleton" has killed "Imperial Army Guard (Level 100)"]

Leon’s expression turned cold as he saw that, and he didn’t even hesitate for a single moment to process what had happened.

He went on to grab onto Alphox and without even saying goodbye to Violet, he teleported out using his [World Map], disappearing in a flash of light without any explanation.

Violet was kind of shocked to see Leon leave out of nowhere, but she assumed he had to do something urgent based on how fast he had left without any explanation.

Fwoosh!

After only a second of weightless travel through the magical currents, Leon and Alphox appeared outside of the moon crescent inn, the familiar building looking quiet from the outside.

He noticed dozens of guards standing around the inn, something that hadn’t happened before and was clearly unusual for this time of night.

"Hold on, who is that guy?" one of them asked as he pointed at Leon.

"We blocked the area, this guy just came out of nowhere!"

Leon ignored them as they approached, and while still holding onto Alphox, he jumped up toward the floor where they had taken their rooms, his body moving with practiced precision and urgency.

As soon as he arrived at the window and looked inside, a strange sight appeared before him that made his blood boil with rage.

Around a dozen guards were in the room, Emilia and Celeste both standing on the bed with panicked expressions, their weapons raised defensively.

The guards had entered their room at night, and thankfully, thanks to Leon’s skeletons, they had managed to protect them long enough for them to wake up and prepare for battle.

"DO NOT RESIST THE IMPERIAL ARMY’S COMMANDS," a general of the army roared, bigger than the rest of the guards, his voice carrying authority and menace.

"Fuck off," Celeste roared back, grabbing her spear and ready to use her [Darkness Ember] to defend herself.

"You do not stand a chance, woman," the guards mocked them, "We killed all your skeletons, you’re next!"

Indeed, Leon’s skeletons had all been killed by the guards, leaving the two girls completely vulnerable and outnumbered.

But it didn’t matter now, because Leon was here, and he wasn’t about to let anything happen to them.

SLASH!

With one powerful slash of his sword, he cut through one of the guards standing with his back to the window, the man dropping before he even knew what hit him.

The moment they saw that, all of the guards tightened their hands on their weapons, turning to face the new threat that had appeared behind them.

"HE’S HERE," one of them shouted, "ITS THAT HUMAN!"

"Interesting," the general laughed, "Level 90, but able to slice through one of my level 100 guards..."

It seemed like none of these people knew that Leon had managed to defeat their army’s commander, AKA Zarek, in the arena just moments ago in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators.

If they knew, they would likely cower in fear, knowing that they stood absolutely no chance against someone who could defeat their leader in combat.

But since they didn’t know, it helped Leon, as it meant he would simply be able to kill them all quickly.

Alphox jumped out of Leon’s arm, landing on the floor and facing the guards, his small form surprisingly intimidating, allowing him to grab his staff properly.

"Leon," Celeste sighed in relief as she saw him appear, "T-These guys, t-they—"

"Yeah," Leon nodded, his expression cold and dangerous, "I didn’t expect anyone to attack, but looks like you can’t be too careful in here."

"The two annoying bitches who spend their time helping in the left wall, and now a human which my subordinates told me humiliated them earlier, how tragic," the general said with a sneer.

Appraisal!

---

[Alvec, Imperial Army General]

[Level: 100]

[Talent: None.]

[Combat Power: 7,500,000]

[Details: One of the generals of the "Imperial Army" with many soldiers/guards under his orders, there is a faint godly essence within him.]

---

"I don’t even know who you are," Leon groaned, unimpressed by the display, except for the "godly essence" part.

"Pests like you who try to act high and mighty, or those that help those nasty insects attempting to save this kingdom will all fall," Alvec’s expression turned cold and menacing, "The [God of War] seeks violence, and we shall grant it to him."

"Oh wow."

Leon didn’t expect to find yet other servants of the [God of War] in [Higher Domain #1], but here they were right in front of him, revealing their true allegiance.

It seems like that god was extremely present in this domain, too much for Leon’s taste actually, and that was a problem he would need to deal with.

Hearing Alvec talk, Leon guessed that a section of the [Imperial Army] actually aimed for the kingdom to fail by being overtaken by monsters, weakening it from within.

"We have gone through hundreds of your kind, and we shall continue until no one remains to save this place," Alvec grinned with malicious satisfaction.

Many players who fought with the guards against the monsters were tracked and killed in their sleeps, or ambushed when they were alone and vulnerable.

The same was likely for members of the army themselves who tried to protect the kingdom.

And as time passed, and the numbers of loyal guards decreased, there would be no one left to save the kingdom from the monsters that threatened it.

That was the plan, orchestrated by the [God of War] himself, using these servants as his instruments of destruction.

’But why?’ Leon thought to himself, ’Why would that god even care about this domain, or even this kingdom specifically?’

Gods only cared about strength and trying to recruit powerful servants to their cause, so if Leon had to guess at the motivation behind this scheme...

"Trying to recruit the [Imperial Queen]," Leon mumbled aloud.

And as a response, Alvec’s grin grew wider, confirming his suspicion without a word.

"She will make a fine servant in the [God of War]’s army, one of the strongest when granted his powers and allowed to grow."

All of the guards in the room began to channel their aura around themselves, preparing for battle with eager anticipation.

"And once we prove ourselves... the [God of War] will grant us his powers too," Alvec added, his voice filled with fanatical devotion.

Dozens of other guards surrounded the inn as well, aiming to fully ambush them from all sides and prevent any escape.

But no matter what they did or how many of them there were, Leon’s expression didn’t budge, in fact, a vortex of aura appeared in his gaze as his killing intent rose to dangerous levels.

Because to him, the worst thing in [Eternal Ascension] beside the gods themselves... were their devout servants who did their bidding without question.

And Leon would make sure to annihilate all of them without mercy.
