When Sunny Reed saw her, she grabbed Chloe’s hand and pulled her toward the stairwell.

Chloe’s face immediately turned cold. "What are you doing? Let go!"

But Sunny held on for dear life, her face contorted.

Once they were in the stairwell, she finally let go of Chloe’s hand. With red-rimmed eyes, she asked, "Sister, did you deliberately rush to meet Preston Vance before I could?"

Chloe crossed her arms and scoffed. "What do you mean, ’deliberately’? It’s a matter of skill. You’re going to blame me just because you couldn’t get it?"

Sunny bit her lip. "Walker already promised me he’d let me be the one to contact Vance Group and facilitate the partnership between them and Reed Group. Sister, how could you stand in my way?"

As she listened, Chloe’s expression grew colder, and a look of disgust crept into her eyes.

"Then you should go find Walker Grant and ask him why he’s so useless that he couldn’t even secure a simple partnership for you," she said coldly, turning to leave.

She was in no mood to listen to Sunny’s nonsense.

But Sunny grabbed her again. "Sister, why do you always have to compete with me? I’m just the adopted daughter. I just want to repay Mom and Dad for raising me. Why can’t you even give me this one opportunity?"

"Let go!"

Chloe yanked her hand away. She was disgusted by Sunny’s touch.

"Ah!"

But to her surprise, Sunny suddenly cried out, followed by the sound of a body tumbling down the stairs. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Chloe whipped her head around just in time to see Sunny tumbling down the stairs!

Sunny lay in a heap on the landing below, her face pale and twisted in agony.

"Holy shit, what happened?"

Someone happened to walk in from downstairs, looking for a place to smoke. He saw Sunny lying on the ground and rushed over to check on her.

Sunny pointed a trembling finger at Chloe. "You... why did you push me..."

With that, she closed her eyes and passed out.

The man stared at Chloe in shock, then quickly pulled out his phone to call for an ambulance and the police.

Chloe shook her head. "It wasn’t me. I didn’t push her."

But the man retorted, "If it wasn’t you, then what? She just rolled down by herself? Is she an idiot?"

Chloe: "..."

The situation escalated, and even the company’s boss showed up. Ken Jacobs scratched his head, completely flustered. This was beyond him; his only choice was to contact Walker Grant.

The ambulance and Walker Grant arrived at roughly the same time.

When he saw the unconscious Sunny, Walker Grant’s sharp brows furrowed. "What happened?"

The bystander immediately pointed at Chloe and said, "She’s the one who pushed her down."

Walker Grant immediately turned to her. "Chloe, did you do this?"

Chloe shook her head, her expression cold. "This is too stupid. I would never do something like this."

’Even if I wanted to deal with Sunny, I’d do it out in the open. How could I possibly resort to such a cheap trick?’

’Sunny, on the other hand, loved using tricks like this.’

’She’d pulled this kind of stunt countless times growing up.’

’And every single time, it worked.’

Just then, the police arrived.

Since the case involved assault, Chloe was taken away. Charles Reed and Autumn Linton soon found out, and both were livid.

"She’s completely out of control! That little brat has no respect for us at all anymore, daring to bully Sunny like this. Let her stay at the station for a few days. It’ll teach her a lesson!" Charles Reed roared.

Autumn Linton was wiping away tears. "Will Sunny be alright? Falling down all those stairs... it must have hurt terribly."

Walker Grant stood to one side, his handsome face grim. He didn’t stop the police from taking Chloe away. He had already sent someone to pull the security footage; he would watch it before making any judgments.
