Chloe Reed was taken to the police station. In the interrogation room, she sat on a cold chair as two officers across from her conducted a routine questioning.

Her gaze remained lowered, and she didn’t say a single word.

The two officers exchanged a look but said nothing more.

It would take time to retrieve the surveillance footage, and Sunny Reed was still unconscious.

She was left in the interrogation room. Everyone else was gone.

She closed her eyes, her expression growing a little more weary.

After a long while, she told the police she wanted to see Walker Grant.

Time ticked by, second by second.

An unknown amount of time passed before the interrogation room door opened. It wasn’t Walker Grant who walked in, but Autumn Linton.

Her eyes were red and swollen from crying, and she glared furiously at Chloe.

Chloe Reed looked up to meet the furious gaze. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she tilted her head slightly. "You’re so furious. Don’t tell me Sunny Reed died?"

"Chloe Reed, you’ve gone too far!" Autumn Linton lunged forward, raising her hand to strike her.

"Do not get physical!"

A police officer’s sharp rebuke crackled through the speaker.

Autumn Linton’s hand froze in mid-air.

Chloe Reed said coolly, "You think that’s too far? I can do far worse."

Tears streamed down Autumn Linton’s face. "Why would you do this? She’s never hurt you. She lets you have your way in everything. Why do you insist on making things so hard for her?"

"There’s no reason. I just can’t stand the sight of her." Chloe Reed’s eyes were devoid of warmth. "When I get out of here, I’ll hit her every time I see her."

"You!"

Autumn Linton’s face was livid with anger. She clutched at her chest. "You break my heart! She’s your sister! You’ve been together for more than ten years. How can you be so cruel...?"

Chloe Reed closed her eyes and said, "If that’s all you came here to say, you can leave."

’I wanted to see Walker Grant, not her.’

"You think Walker would still come to see you?" Autumn Linton glared at her. "You’re so vicious, pushing someone down the stairs. Walker is furious. He said to leave you locked up in here to reflect. He’ll come see you when you finally realize you were wrong."

Hearing this, Chloe Reed’s hands instantly clenched into fists. The calm composure in her eyes shattered. "Is that what he said?"

"That’s right." Seeing Chloe lose her composure, Autumn Linton’s own expression softened a little. "Chloe Reed, you did something wrong, and you need to admit it. Apologize to your sister and give the Vance Group partnership opportunity to her. Then, this whole incident will be over."

’So that’s what this was all about.’

Chloe Reed’s eyes turned red. "I’m the one who negotiated with the Vance Group to partner with the Reed Group. Isn’t that also for the family’s benefit? Why is it okay for her to contribute, but not for me? What do you people really mean? Is Sunny Reed your actual biological daughter or something?!"
