Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 183: I Hate You
"Walker Grant!"
Chloe Reed stared at his back, her voice hoarse. "Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill her once I get out of here?!"
’He cares so much about Sunny Reed. He’d do anything for her. How could he possibly let anyone hurt her?’
Walker Grant’s steps faltered. He turned his head slightly, his tone exceptionally cold. "You don’t have the guts."
With that, he pushed the door open and walked out.
"Come back! Get back here!" Chloe Reed screamed, emotional tears streaming down her face. "A divorce! I want a divorce! Walker Grant, I hate you!"
Her anguished voice echoed from behind the door.
Walker Grant stood in the hallway, a vein throbbing on his temple, his expression grim.
He wanted to check the security footage, but he learned there were no cameras installed in that stairwell. That was why people went there to smoke.
But he also knew Chloe Reed would never do something like that.
She hated Sunny Reed and had always been direct with her aggression. She would never resort to such underhanded tactics behind someone’s back.
And yet, she didn’t defend herself, essentially admitting to it.
She was pressuring him again, demanding a divorce.
To divorce him, she was willing to throw everything away—even her own reputation.
The suffocating feeling in his chest intensified, and the frustration made his expression even fouler.
Walker Grant went to the chief’s office and sat for a while before leaving.
Just as he got into his car, his phone rang. It was a call from Autumn Linton.
"Hello, Mom."
Walker Grant’s tone was very cold.
Autumn Linton asked anxiously, "Walker, what did Chloe ask you to do? Did she agree?"
But Walker Grant said coldly, "Mom, my sister-in-law’s company just launched. I’ve already sent people over with a collaboration proposal. As for the partnership with the Vance Group, that depends on them. It’s their choice who they want to work with, not something we can control."
Autumn Linton was a little displeased. "But..."
"My sister-in-law is still recovering. You should take good care of her, Mom." Walker Grant ended the call coldly.
In the hospital, Sunny Reed watched Autumn Linton. Seeing her unhappy expression, she asked, "Mom, did Walker fail to convince my sister?"
Autumn Linton looked at her. "Sunny, just focus on getting better. Your health is the most important thing."
Tears immediately welled up in Sunny Reed’s eyes. "It’s all my fault. I’m so useless. I just wanted to repay you, but I didn’t think I’d fail at even such a small thing."
"It’s not your fault. It has nothing to do with you." Autumn Linton rushed forward to hug her. "It’s all Chloe’s fault. She’s being unreasonable and insists on competing with you. Sometimes, I can’t help but think how wonderful it would be if you were my real daughter."
Sunny Reed sobbed pitifully in Autumn Linton’s arms, looking incredibly wronged.
Seeing this, Autumn Linton’s heart ached for her. When Charles Reed arrived, she said, "Let’s give some of the Reed Group’s partnership projects to Sunny. I’m sure she’ll do a great job."
Charles Reed thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright."
Sunny Reed had refused shares in the Reed Group, which already made them feel guilty. Now that Chloe Reed had caused such a scene, they were furious and felt they could only compensate Sunny even more.
Charles Reed also took out a card and handed it to Sunny Reed. "There’s thirty million in here. Take it and spend it, Sunny. Don’t be sad. Your mother and I will always be on your side."
Sunny Reed’s eyes were red. "Dad, Mom, you’re both so good to me."
Autumn Linton gently stroked her hair and said, "We brought you back home. Of course we have to treat you well."
