He had to resort to tricks just to see his own wife.

It was utterly ridiculous. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Chloe Reed nodded. "Fine."

Walker Grant’s gaze was dark as he watched her, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.

Chloe Reed frowned slightly. "I’ve already agreed. Is there something else?"

"You’re lying to me again." Walker Grant suddenly stood and walked toward her. "Are you planning to block me again as soon as I leave?"

Chloe Reed’s expression froze. That was exactly what she was planning to do.

’I can’t believe he saw right through me.’

Seeing her silence, Walker Grant’s lips curved, but there was no hint of a smile in his eyes. "Chloe, you’ve disappointed me greatly."

"Enough, Walker Grant! Is there any point in dragging this on?" Chloe Reed’s patience had run out. Her gaze was cold and mocking. "What’s with this act, pretending I’m the one who hurt you? Weren’t you the one who hurt me first? You’re upset by what I’m doing now? Do you have any idea how I felt before?"

Walker Grant watched her sharp accusations, his expression impassive for a moment before he spoke. "I’m doing what you asked."

"My request? Ha... You make it sound like I’m forcing you. This is ridiculous. I’m not forcing you, and you don’t have to be forced to do those things. It’s meaningless now."

’Chloe Reed found it utterly ridiculous. As a husband, he couldn’t remain completely faithful. He was full of lies, and now he had the audacity to claim he was just doing as she asked?’

’He didn’t even know how to be a husband!’

’It was all a mistake from the very beginning!’

Chloe Reed pointed at the door. "Get out. I don’t want to see you right now."

Walker Grant’s eyes darkened. "No matter what I do, you’re never satisfied, are you?"

"That’s right!"

Chloe Reed lifted her chin, looking him straight in the eye.

"Fine." Walker Grant nodded. "Then there’s no need for me to change. Let’s just go back to how we lived before."

The look in Chloe Reed’s eyes wavered, on the verge of shattering.

Walker Grant showed no sign of leaving. He even went straight into her master bedroom.

Chloe Reed trembled with anger.

’When had he ever changed?’

’How ridiculous!’

She turned and walked toward the door.

Walker Grant’s cool, magnetic voice came from a short distance behind her. "If you leave, you won’t get to see the DNA test results."

Chloe Reed whipped her head around to look at him. "How did you know?!"

"I’ve been watching you." Walker Grant’s lips curved. Seeing her shocked expression, he walked toward her. "Have you started to wonder if you’re truly part of the Reed family’s bloodline?"

"Shouldn’t I be suspicious?" Chloe Reed said through gritted teeth. "They adore Sunny Reed so much. She must be their real daughter."

"So, Chloe, stop this little temper tantrum. The view here is nice. Your room is missing a lot of things. I’ll have people send them over." Walker Grant reached out and took her hand.

Chloe Reed’s eyes filled with utter disgust. "Walker Grant, you’re shameless."

"I’ve always been this way. We’ve known each other for so many years; you should have seen me for who I am by now," Walker Grant said lightly.

In that instant, Chloe Reed felt a chill that pierced her soul.

Her face numb, she was led into the master bedroom. Walker Grant began to criticize her room, but in the end, he moved to kiss her, saying, "Let’s not delay the important business."

Chloe Reed turned her face away and said coldly, "I’m on my period."

Walker Grant’s expression faltered. He reached out and touched her lower abdomen. Just as he’d expected, it was ice-cold.

He sighed. "So, it didn’t sprout?"
