Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 233: It Won’t Kill Me
His tone was filled with regret, yet his hand didn’t immediately leave her lower abdomen.
The warmth spread to her lower abdomen, dispelling the chilling pain.
Chloe Reed pushed him away and said, "Can you leave now?"
But Walker Grant was perplexed. "Why should I leave?"
Chloe Reed looked at him mockingly. "I can’t satisfy your desires anymore, so what’s the point of you staying here?"
The moment she finished speaking, the man’s expression darkened.
"In your eyes, am I just someone who only has one thing on his mind?" His tone was grave.
Chloe Reed didn’t say anything, but the look in her eyes said it all.
’He was exactly that kind of person.’
Walker Grant laughed in anger.
Then, he scooped her up and walked toward the bed.
Chloe Reed was horrified. "Are you insane? I told you I’m on my period!"
Walker Grant placed her on the bed and said in a low voice, "If I only have one thing on my mind, then why would I care whether you’re on your period?"
Chloe Reed was too shocked to say a word.
His mouth descended upon hers in a frenzied kiss, stealing her breath.
When Chloe Reed finally snapped out of it, she began to struggle violently.
She even slapped him across the face.
But he only paused for a moment before continuing to kiss her.
He kissed her for a long time, until her lips were red and swollen.
Chloe Reed was gasping, her breathing ragged. "Walker Grant, don’t make me hate you!"
"Don’t you hate me already?" Walker Grant pulled away from her lips. His gaze darkened as he looked at his handiwork. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Chloe Reed said nothing.
Yet, Walker Grant’s mood miraculously calmed. A corner of his mouth lifted. "Then that means you still love me."
Then, he lay down on his side next to her, pulled her into his embrace, and placed his hand on her lower abdomen, rubbing it gently.
Chloe Reed’s limbs felt weak, and it took a while for her strength to return. She wanted to turn over and get up, but he held her fast, leaving her trapped on the bed.
His breath was hot against her ear as he said in a hoarse voice, "There are other parts of you I can use."
Chloe Reed immediately froze, not daring to move.
Her body remained tense. She could hear his steady breathing by her ear, and the hand on her lower abdomen was very warm, dispelling the coldness inside her.
Her nerves remained stretched taut, but at some point, she must have relaxed, because she drifted into a groggy sleep.
When she woke up, it was the dead of night.
It was pitch-black outside, the surroundings were unfamiliar, and he was still holding her, his warmth a constant presence against her back.
Chloe Reed carefully eased herself away and went to the bathroom. When she came out, she saw he was still on his side, sleeping soundly.
She left the bedroom and curled up on the sofa.
When the sky had fully brightened, Chloe Reed opened her eyes and saw him standing beside the sofa, his expression dark. She didn’t know when he had woken up.
Chloe Reed sat up, ran a hand through her hair, and said, "Can you leave now?"
"When did you move over here?"
Walker Grant asked, his voice low.
Chloe Reed said, "After you fell asleep."
He took a step forward and gripped her chin, forcing her to look up at him. "You hate the idea of sleeping next to me that much?"
"Yes!"
She met his gaze without the slightest hesitation.
A vein throbbed at Walker Grant’s temple, and a shadow fell over his dark, almond-shaped eyes. After a long moment, he finally spoke. "Before, whenever you had cramps, you couldn’t sleep unless I rubbed your stomach."
Chloe Reed’s eyelashes trembled violently. "Not anymore," she said. "It’s not like the pain can kill me."
