Chapter 442: Chapter 442: Lonely

The Grant Family Estate.

Little Noah sat in the living room, glancing up at the front gate from time to time. When the person he was waiting for didn’t appear, he would lower his head again and go back to playing with his toys.

A maid was watching over him, and the butler was nearby. The whole Grant Family Estate villa seemed exceptionally serene.

Just then, the sound of a car engine broke the silence. Noah’s eyes instantly lit up. He dropped his toy, scrambled to his feet, and ran toward the door.

A car pulled up to the villa’s entrance. The door opened, and he saw Walker Grant. "Uncle!" he yelled excitedly.

Then, he saw a woman get out of the passenger seat. Without even getting a clear look, he shouted, "Mommy!"

Walker’s tone was cold. "That’s your auntie."

Noah froze. His big, obsidian-dark eyes blinked, and his excitement immediately vanished. "Auntie," he said politely.

Chloe Reed got out of the car and looked at the little boy standing at the entrance. He was exquisitely handsome. She had seen photos of Julian Grant, and Noah bore a strong resemblance to him.

’But she just couldn’t bring herself to like him.’

’He was Sunny Reed’s child.’ 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

’Still, she wouldn’t do anything to a child.’

She simply gave a faint acknowledgment before walking into the living room.

Noah watched her walk past timidly, then turned to Walker Grant. "Uncle, why haven’t you come back for so many days? I missed you."

Noah had started preschool and his vocabulary had grown. His eyes were now filled with anticipation as he hugged Walker Grant’s leg.

Walker Grant bent down, picked the little boy up, and asked, "Have you been keeping up with your lessons?"

Noah nodded and said very seriously, "Yes! Teacher Strawberry even praised me!"

"Mm," Walker Grant replied. "Very good. Keep it up."

He took out his phone, snapped a photo of Noah, and sent it to a number.

It was the number Sunny Reed used to use. He wasn’t sure if she still did, but if she did, she would get the message and see Noah Grant.

Noah watched curiously and asked, "Uncle, what are you doing?"

Walker Grant said, "Taking your picture, to document it."

Noah seemed to only half-understand. After a moment, he suddenly said, "Then I’ll take a picture of you and Auntie, to document it."

Hearing this, Walker Grant raised an eyebrow slightly, then tucked the phone into the boy’s hands. "Make sure you get our good side."

"Mhm!"

Noah slid down from his arms, holding the phone with both little hands, and aimed it at them to take a picture.

Seeing this, Chloe Reed frowned slightly and asked, "What is this for?"

Walker Grant sat down beside her and said in a low voice, "It’s a kind gesture from the child. He wants to take a picture of us."

He turned his head to look at her, his sharp, phoenix-like eyes deep and focused. "You wouldn’t argue with a child, would you?"

Chloe Reed gave him a cool glance and said, "Is it the child’s kind gesture, or yours?"

A faint smile played on Walker Grant’s thin lips. "Think what you will."

But Chloe Reed had no energy to waste on such trivial matters.

’Grandma is in the hospital, poisoned and unconscious. The person who took Sunny Reed might be Miles Hawthorne. And Charles Reed and Autumn Linton are relentlessly pressuring me...’

’Right now, she was just so frustrated and distressed.’

She looked at the chat history with Miles Hawthorne on her phone. She couldn’t believe he was the one who took Sunny Reed.

’How could it be him?’

She pursed her lips, looked at Walker Grant, and said, "Is it possible it’s just a coincidence?"
