Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 459: Driven Out of the Reed Family
——Hahaha, I succeeded! They loathe you, they despise you. No matter how good you are, they’ll never like you again, hahahaha!
"..."
Sunny’s crazed laughter echoed throughout the hospital room.
All at once, the strength drained from Sunny’s body. She lay sprawled on the floor like a dead weight, her face pale and her gaze vacant.
Disbelief washed over Autumn Linton’s and Charles Reed’s faces. They both turned to Sunny, searching for an answer, but the sight of her deathly pale expression left them speechless.
They recalled her earlier pleas and resistance, her stiffness and remorse, and realized this was the reason for it all.
"Revenge?"
Autumn Linton murmured that one word. She sank to the floor, her mind flashing back to the more than ten years she had favored Sunny.
Because she favored Sunny, she had neglected Chloe time and again, causing her to suffer immensely.
The old house in the garden had even become the place where they would lock Chloe up as punishment.
’So all of this... was it because Sunny was turning us against each other?’
Charles Reed was also stunned. To think he’d been played for a fool by a mere girl!
Seething with uncontrollable rage, he strode forward and slapped Sunny hard across the face.
"We took you in out of kindness, only to find we were raising an ungrateful wretch!"
Autumn instinctively reached out to stop him, but her hand froze in mid-air. She looked at Sunny, her heart aching, and her voice choked as she spoke. "Sunny, after all these years... we treated you so well. Did none of that wear away your desire for revenge at all? Do you really hate us that much?"
Sunny’s ears rang from the force of the slap, and she began to see stars. A searing pain burned on her cheek.
She blinked numbly and looked at Autumn. "Then do you admit it? Do you admit that you caused my parents’ deaths?"
Autumn bit her lip and began to weep silently.
Charles, however, said, "The situation was critical. It was all we could do to save ourselves. How could we have possibly worried about anyone else?"
Susan Bowman had been watching from the sidelines. She finally walked over and helped Sunny to her feet.
"What’s the point of bringing that up now?" she said. "My daughter and son-in-law traded their lives for yours. You were supposed to cherish Sunny. No matter what she’s done, you have to raise her well, because you owe her!"
She looked at Autumn, her tone softening. "Autumn, if it were possible, I would wish you were my own daughter. I’ve always loved you as if you were, especially after my daughter passed away. I placed all my feelings for her onto you. Sunny is the only blood relative I have left. You’ll take good care of her, right?"
Charles Reed’s face turned grim. "Impossible! She has thrown the Reed family into utter chaos. I will not have her in this family again. Since she’s so preoccupied with her parents, she can stop using the Reed name. She can go back to being a Su!"
Susan Bowman stared at him in disbelief. "You... How can you be so ungrateful?"
Charles retorted, "I have raised Sunny for over a decade. I gave her everything she ever wanted. Wasn’t that enough? Or would it only count as repaying the debt if we all died by her hand?"
"You..."
Susan was at a loss for words. She looked at Autumn anxiously. "Autumn, say something..."
Charles was exceptionally firm. "I call the shots in the Reed family now. She isn’t well and needs to recover. You should go."
He was bluntly kicking them out.
