Chloe Reed nodded. "She took the antidote and just woke up. She’s tired now, so she’s going back to sleep for a bit."

Her eyes fell to the little boy slumped over Walker Grant’s shoulder. "How is he?" she asked.

Walker Grant replied, "He was frightened. He’ll need to rest and recover. Once he’s feeling a bit better, we can get him some counseling."

"Mm."

Chloe Reed gave a small nod.

Nathaniel Monroe couldn’t resist asking, "Chloe, was I cool today or what? I think I was awesome! When Walker gave me this mission, I swore I’d pull it off, and man, the result was even cooler than I could have imagined."

He recalled his own stunning performance, his eyes shining with self-admiration.

Chloe Reed chuckled helplessly. "We couldn’t have done it without you today."

Nathaniel Monroe quickly waved a dismissive hand. "Anyone could’ve done it. What’s important is that everyone is okay."

He paused for a moment before asking, "I saw Sunny Reed. Where is she now?"

"I don’t know," Chloe Reed replied.

Nathaniel Monroe suddenly recalled that Chloe and Sunny Reed didn’t get along, so he wisely dropped the subject.

He was scrolling through his social media feed on his phone when he suddenly slapped his thigh. "Holy shit! Charles Reed just posted a statement disowning his adopted daughter, Sunny Reed! It says from now on, she’s no longer allowed to use the Reed surname!"

He looked at them in utter astonishment. "What... What in the world happened?"

At his words, Chloe Reed raised her eyebrows slightly, a flash of surprise crossing her clear eyes.

’I can’t believe Charles moved so quickly. He’s truly ruthless. Just because Sunny Reed’s motives weren’t pure, he disowned her just like that. Now he’s completely ignoring the debt he owes to Kevin Sutton and his wife.’

Walker Grant said, "I’ll take Noah home first. I’ll come back later to stay with you."

Chloe Reed shook her head. "Something terrible has already happened once. You should stay with Noah. I’m safe here."

But Walker Grant simply said, "I’ll be back later."

"Chloe, darling! I came to see your grandma."

Chloe Reed replied, "She’s taken the antidote. For now, it looks like she’s doing much better."

Iris Yates breathed a sigh of relief. "That’s such great news. I’ve been so worried these past few days, I’ve barely slept."

"Ha! You? Someone as carefree as you losing sleep? The sky could be falling and you’d probably still be sleeping like a log!" Nathaniel Monroe couldn’t resist taunting from the side.

Iris Yates scowled at him. "What is wrong with you?"

Nathaniel Monroe scoffed. "Yeah, I’m sick. You got the cure?"

Iris Yates: "..."

The corner of her mouth twitched. "What a lame line."

Nathaniel Monroe retorted, "Lame or not, you still don’t have a comeback."

Iris Yates: "..."

’Did this guy stay behind just to piss me off?’

Her expression grew exceptionally serious. "Grandma is still resting. Shut your mouth!"
