Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 498: Doesn’t Remember Who Annie York Is
"Who are you?"
Annie York jumped, startled by the man’s sudden voice. She spun around, clutching the used bedsheets, her face pale.
"M-Mr. Grant, I’m Annie York..."
Walker Grant’s sharp brows drew together. "Why are you here?"
Annie York said meekly, "Chloe asked me to change the sheets and duvet cover. I’m almost done."
Walker Grant’s gaze swept over her. "Then why are you wearing her clothes?"
Annie York was wearing one of Chloe Reed’s blouses—a simple and elegant white one with embroidered cuffs.
When Chloe Reed wore it, she exuded a sophisticated beauty. On Annie York, however, it looked like an adult trying to wear a child’s clothes—completely jarring.
"I gave it to her. What, you have a problem with that?"
Just then, Chloe Reed’s voice came from the direction of the bathroom. She walked out in a bathrobe, clearly having just showered, a faint pink flush coloring her skin.
Her clear eyes regarded him coldly.
Annie York said timidly, "Chloe, I’m almost done with the sheets. And... this blouse probably doesn’t suit me. I should give it back to you."
She looked like she was about to cry.
Seeing this, Chloe Reed shot a glare at Walker Grant. "Who said you could come into my room? You show up out of nowhere and scare us, and before I can even get on your case, you’re the one yelling at us."
Walker Grant raised an eyebrow. "I was harsh with *you*?"
"You were harsh with *her*," Chloe Reed said. "She’s my friend."
But Walker Grant retorted, "And what does that have to do with me? I’m always like this with people who don’t matter. You, of all people, should know that."
He took a step forward. "Chloe, don’t tell me you’re just using this to vent your frustrations with me."
Chloe Reed scoffed. "Do I need any other reason to be unhappy with you?"
Walker Grant was speechless.
Standing to the side, Annie York felt the suffocating pressure. She finished changing the sheets and duvet cover in a flurry, then grabbed the old bedding and scurried out of the room.
Only after she was out of the room did she feel herself relax.
’Mr. Grant treats Chloe so differently from everyone else.’
’He’s so gentle with her.’
’When will he ever be that gentle with me?’
"..."
Walker Grant said, "Didn’t I make a rule that she’s not allowed on the second floor after nine p.m.?"
Chloe Reed sat at her vanity. "What? Afraid she’s going to make a move on you?"
His gaze was dark as he stared at her. "Aren’t you afraid?"
At his words, Chloe Reed let out a derisive snort. "Have you forgotten I used to send women to you? Why would I be afraid of that..."
The words had barely left her lips when the man sitting on the edge of the bed suddenly stood up, strode toward her, and leaned down to crush his lips against hers.
The kiss was so fierce it was as if he wanted to tear her lips off.
"Mmph!"
Chloe Reed’s eyes flew open, and she pushed against him.
But Walker Grant simply picked her up, tossed her onto the bed, and pressed his towering body down on her, pinning her completely, leaving her unable to move.
His lips grazed her ear as he spoke. "You still dare to bring that up."
Then, he claimed her with tyrannical force, leaving his scent all over her.
Chloe Reed’s breathing grew ragged, tears stinging the corners of her eyes. She opened her mouth and bit down hard on his shoulder, mumbling, "You bastard!"
