Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 502: The Wedding Date Is Set
It all happened so suddenly, but Iris Yates’s parents wholeheartedly approved of the marriage. They even felt she did the right thing by registering her marriage to Nathaniel Monroe right away.
The wedding date was quickly set, with the ceremony to be held at the end of the month.
It was now the beginning of the month, leaving only one month to prepare.
Both sets of parents had only agreed to this after Iris Yates insisted. If it were up to them, the wedding preparations would have taken half a year, with each betrothal gift carefully selected.
As soon as the date was set, Iris Yates told Chloe Reed.
It had only been three days since they last met.
Chloe Reed was too shocked to speak. For some reason, a faint sense of unease surfaced in her heart.
’Is this... really okay?’
"I’ll get there early."
Iris Yates quickly replied, "Yes, please do! I’m clueless and have no idea what to do. You’ll have to help me."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Chloe Reed picked up the handgun again and resumed her shooting practice.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
All the bullets hit the target, but none struck the bullseye.
Walker Grant, watching from the side, said, "You’ve improved a lot."
Chloe Reed asked, "When will Claire Monroe agree to help?"
It had been three days. Miles Hawthorne’s condition was getting worse by the day, and she wasn’t sure if he could even withstand hypnosis.
Walker Grant sighed softly. "She’s still dealing with her own problems."
Chloe Reed frowned and resumed her practice.
Just then, Walker Grant’s phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from the family estate.
Immediately after, a message arrived from the bodyguard responsible for protecting Noah.
—[Mr. Grant, Sunny Reed befriended your son’s kindergarten teacher and used the opportunity to take him. We’ve located them and have Sunny Reed in custody.]
Walker Grant’s eyes grew cold.
He rejected the call, then looked at Chloe Reed. "I have to go out."
Chloe Reed ignored him and continued practicing.
Walker Grant continued as if to himself, "Noah’s in trouble. I’m going to bring him here. He might have to live with us for a while."
Chloe Reed froze. "You can take him to the family estate."
She flatly rejected his suggestion.
’I can’t possibly live with Sunny Reed’s child.’
’The child is innocent, but seeing Noah Grant, I can’t help but think of Sunny Reed.’
’There’s no way I could remain impartial.’
Walker Grant frowned, but said nothing more. He turned and strode away.
The bodyguards found Sunny Reed and Noah Grant in an alley in a residential neighborhood.
Sunny Reed was holding Noah Grant tightly, her face streaked with tears. The child was also having a complete meltdown, crying for his mom.
When Walker Grant arrived, he saw the mother and son still huddled together.
Seeing him, Sunny Reed immediately started begging for mercy. "Walker, I’m begging you, please let me stay with Noah. He’s already lost his father; he can’t lose his mother too! I promise I’ll stay out of trouble. I’ll just look after Noah. I swear I won’t interfere in your life with my sister."
An icy chill emanated from Walker Grant. He looked at the bodyguard and asked, "What did the kindergarten teacher say?"
The bodyguard said, "The teacher says she was deceived, too. She didn’t know Sunny Reed was the young master’s mother, so she lowered her guard. She hired Sunny to be a nanny in her home, and later even had her help watch the children..."
