The message was from Nathaniel Monroe.

He told Walker Grant that everything with Claire Monroe was settled.

And that he was taking her directly to the Grant Family Estate.

Walker Grant had already told Nathaniel to go straight to the estate as soon as he had news, to first hypnotize Sunny Reed and make her reveal the antidote.

The car arrived quickly. Standing off to one side, smoking a cigarette, was a woman in a black trench coat with short hair.

She glanced up at him, then sneered without reservation. "Heard your wife left you?"

Walker Grant: "..."

Nathaniel Monroe quickly cut in, "Sis, don’t rub salt in the wound. Let’s get down to business first."

But Claire Monroe just chuckled. "I think this is the business at hand. Come on, tell me why your wife left you. Did you do something to wrong her? I met her once. She’s a lively, adorable girl, and beautiful too. How did you manage to piss her off?"

Walker Grant stared at her, his handsome, sharp features expressionless. "Let’s deal with this first. Then you can have Nathaniel tell you the whole story. He knows everything."

Claire looked at Nathaniel in surprise, then her face lit up with realization. "Oh, did your wife catch you two fooling around?!"

Walker Grant: "..."

Nathaniel sputtered, "Sis, don’t be ridiculous! I’m straight—very, very straight. My wedding date is already set. Can you please not make jokes like that?!"

But Claire just smiled faintly. "Setting the date in such a hurry... Who knows what your real reason is."

Nathaniel saw Walker Grant’s expression growing darker and darker, and knew he would be the one caught in the middle. With a pleading look, he begged, "Sis, I’m at my wit’s end. Can we please go inside and take care of business? We’re talking about Julian’s only son here. Didn’t you use to have a crush on Julian back in the day? You can’t just stand by and watch his family line die out, can you?"

Claire’s face fell. She punched him on the shoulder. "Are you asking for a death wish?"

"OW! Ow, ow, ow!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Nathaniel rubbed his shoulder. "What kind of dark arts did you learn abroad? How are you so strong?"

Claire stubbed out her cigarette with her foot and looked at Walker Grant. "Let’s go."

Only then did Walker Grant’s expression soften slightly, and he immediately headed into the villa.

Claire watched his retreating figure, her gaze shifting to his face. She remarked with a sudden wave of emotion, "You used to look so much like your brother. Why don’t you anymore?"

Standing to the side, Nathaniel had an ’I knew it’ look on his face. He pursed his lips but didn’t dare say a word. The innate dominance of his older sister was impossible to resist.

Walker Grant said, "How do you know he hasn’t changed?"

Claire lowered her gaze slightly. "He couldn’t have. He’ll be that way forever."

There was a hint of regret in her tone. Then, she scoffed. "He may be long gone, but I still have to complain—his taste in women was terrible."

As she finished speaking, they arrived at the villa’s entrance.

Walker Grant paused, glanced at her, and walked straight inside without a word.

The living room was silent. The servants didn’t dare make a sound, their expressions exceptionally cautious.

The butler stepped forward and said, "Mr. Grant, the young master is in his room. The Eldest Young Mistress is with him."

Walker Grant acknowledged him. "Go bring her down."

"Yes, sir," the butler replied.
