Chapter 80: Chapter 80 Rain of Calamity

Oliver did not charge forward immediately. Normally, in battle, he would always take the initiative and rush toward his enemies, overwhelming them with relentless close-range attacks.

It was all thanks to Husk’s guidance that he had developed such an aggressive fighting style. But this time, he was in a difficult situation. All three of his monsters had been restrained, leaving him alone against Floralia.

However, even though his monsters were captured, the connection between them still remained since they were still categorized as Active monsters.

Oliver immediately switched into his Crimson Striker class. A crimson aura appeared around his body before spreading toward the Assault Dagger in his hand, further enhancing its attacking power.

Oliver remained still while carefully trying to observe what Floralia was capable of.

Floralia slowly walked closer toward him before gracefully raising one of her hands into the air. Suddenly, dozens of flowers rapidly bloomed from the ground.

The flowers grew nearly four meters high and possessed the appearance of giant purple tulips. From within their petals, long sharp spears suddenly formed before launching toward Oliver at terrifying speed.

Oliver immediately activated Quickstep and narrowly evaded the incoming attacks. The spears pierced deeply into the ground one after another. However, Floralia did not stop there. More floral spears continuously formed and shot toward Oliver without pause.

Occasionally, Oliver swung his dagger to deflect some of the incoming spears. Other times, when Quickstep was on cooldown, he had no choice but to roll across the ground to evade the relentless attacks.

However, he realized something troublesome. It was becoming extremely difficult to close the distance toward Floralia while she continuously spammed long-range attacks from afar.

Suddenly, as Oliver attempted to dodge another bombing of spears, vines abruptly wrapped around his foot from below.

"What?!"

He immediately tried to pull himself free, but the vines held him firmly in place. In the next instant, countless spears rained down directly toward him. The entire area exploded and became filled with smoke and debris.

"Hm? Is that all?" Floralia tilted her head slightly.

As the smoke slowly cleared away, a pair of massive green wings protected Oliver from the attacks. It was the activation of the Wings Aegis skill from his Carapace Blaster class.

"If you want to fight at long range, then let’s see who’s better at it!" Oliver smirked. He quickly shot the vines restraining his feet before hovering into the air and circling around Floralia.

At the same time, he continuously fired bullets while constantly changing shooting modes to pressure her from different angles.

However, Floralia did not move at all. Instead, she summoned a massive cluster of multicolored strawflowers before her.

Every bullet that struck the flowers exploded them apart. Yet almost instantly, new flowers regenerated and replaced the destroyed ones.

"Her plant abilities are so annoying!" Oliver cursed after seeing his attacks being completely countered.

"Yaaawn...Is that all you’ve got, cute boy? Can you at least entertain me a little?" Floralia covered her mouth lightly while looking bored.

Oliver slowly started losing his composure. However, he quickly took a deep breath to calm himself down.

"Being affected by the enemy’s taunts is the beginning of defeat. That’s what Husk always tells me." he muttered.

He then continued attacking Floralia while desperately trying to think of a way to break through her defenses. Meanwhile, Floralia casually blocked and deflected all of his attacks as though they were nothing.

Suddenly, one of Oliver’s bullets was deflected away and accidentally struck the vine cocoon trapping Husk. The vines immediately burned upon impact before slowly regenerating again, but at slower rate.

Oliver’s eyes instantly narrowed as he did not miss that detail.

’So that’s it! Now I know what I need to do!’ A smirk slowly appeared on his face.

Floralia immediately noticed the sudden change in Oliver’s expression. For the first time, her playful attitude began fading slightly.

’This cute boy is definitely planning something,’ she thought.

Without hesitation, she quickly summoned two Predaplants, the monstrous plant creatures with razor-sharp teeth and vine-like limbs. The two creatures immediately charged toward Oliver aggressively.

Oliver immediately pointed his cannon upward while supporting it firmly with his left hand. The cannon rapidly began charging with immense energy. After several seconds, Oliver activated the ultimate skill of the Carapace Blaster class.

"Rain of Calamity!"

BOOM!!

A massive blast erupted from the cannon, causing cracks to spread beneath Oliver’s feet from the overwhelming recoil. The beam shot high into the air before exploding above the entire domain like a gigantic firework.

A blinding light instantly illuminated the whole boss room. Afterward, countless fragments from the explosion began raining down from above. One of the falling blasts struck the two Predaplants directly, instantly killing both of them.

Floralia’s expression finally changed slightly. For the first time, genuine concern appeared on her face. She immediately summoned a massive tree around herself, covering her entire area defensively.

Meanwhile, Oliver quickly dashed back toward his monsters while activating Wings Aegis to shield his body from the raining explosions.

BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!

Explosions erupted everywhere across the domain. The entire area descended into chaos as countless fragments continuously bombarded and burned everything in sight.

Trees exploded apart while flowers were incinerated. Even the ground itself was blasted open from the relentless calamity bombardment.

After several moments, Oliver finally deactivated Wings Aegis before turning around. The falling fragments had struck the vine cocoons surrounding his monsters, burning them apart completely.

Husk, Nyx, and Queen were finally free.

"I take back what I said earlier, cute boy. You’re actually very interesting. I can’t wait to be together with you soon." Floralia said while smiling alluringly.

"Then how about surrendering and letting me tame you?" Oliver asked.

"That would be far too boring, cutie. I want to see more of what you’re capable of and I want to know whether you’re truly worthy of becoming my master." Floralia giggled softly.

Oliver then reverted back to his normal form before chuckling lightly. There was actually a reason why he had not used Synchronization earlier despite being capable of doing so. He intentionally wanted to keep all of his monsters in Active status.

"I see...then how about this? Will you still think I’m worthy after seeing this?" He slowly pulled out a card from the system.

The moment Floralia saw it, her eyes immediately widened.

Because it was a black frame card.
