Chapter 82: Chapter 82 Another Weird One

Oliver was currently inside his room while looking through his system interface as he waited for dinner time.

Since he had successfully tamed his first monster from the system, he had completed the mission [Taming The Monster I].

As a reward, he received 100 Dominion Cores and 500 Tamer Coins. That increased his total Tamer Coins to 1100, while his Dominion Cores reached 120.

Soon after claiming the rewards, the mission panel refreshed once again before displaying two new missions.

---

Mission Name: Taming The Monster II

Requirement: Tame two monsters from the system.

Reward: 300 Dominion Cores, 1500 Tamer Coins

---

Mission Name: Slayer II

Requirement: Slay 5 Rank-S Monsters or beyond.

Current Progress: 0/5

Reward: 2500 Tamer Coins

---

"Looks like I should start hunting more Rank-S monsters from now on." Oliver muttered while looking at the mission panel.

"And as for system monsters, that can wait for a while. I don’t want to rush and tame too many monsters without properly maximizing my Familiarity with them first. Quality over quantity, as they say."

Oliver then shifted his attention toward his Dominion Cores.

"As for these Dominion Cores, I’ll use all of them on my Tamer Level. I need to raise my level and stats quickly so I can use the [Tyrant King Spear] as soon as possible."

Without hesitation, Oliver immediately used all 120 Dominion Cores. His Tamer Level rapidly increased from Level 5 to Level 8. Oliver received 15 free stat points from leveling up. Without thinking too much, he distributed them evenly across all five of his stats.

As Oliver continued checking through his classes and skills, a satisfied smile slowly appeared on his face.

"It seems my fighting options are increasing day by day. But still, this isn’t enough. I should collect more skill cards from both the system and monster drops."

Suddenly, Oliver paused and frowned slightly as he looked at his own stats.

"System, don’t you think this is weird? Why are my stats still so low? Compared to monsters like Zepharion that have stats in the thousands, my own stats feel like comparing an ant to an elephant."

[Tamers are not meant to rely solely on themselves. They become powerful because of the bonds they share with their monsters. In your case, your stats are indeed low.]

[However, that is only because the stats of your Boss monsters are overwhelmingly high, making your own stats appear insignificant in comparison. This system structure exists to ensure the user depends more heavily on their monsters.]

"I see. That’s actually a very good explanation." Oliver nodded in understanding.

As his level increased, more [Single Packs] were gradually unlocked inside the Emporium.

At Level 6, he unlocked:

[LEGEND REAWAKENED]

[TWILIGHT JUDGEMENT]

[SHINING WISH]

At Level 7, he unlocked:

[FOUNDRY OF MIGHT]

[DIMENSION OF DARKNESS]

[ILLUSION OF SERENITY]

And upon reaching Level 8, he unlocked:

[DRAGON REIGN]

[ARCADIA EXTENDED]

[SAVAGE BEASTS EMPIRE]

"So many choices! I seriously can’t wait to open every single one of them, especially this dragon one." Oliver said excitedly while rubbing his hands together.

"Oliver! Dinner is ready! Come downstairs now!" Irmine’s voice echoed from below.

"Coming!"

Oliver immediately stood up before heading downstairs toward the dining room.

Their new house was much larger than their previous one. The ground floor contained a living room, guest room, dining and kitchen area combined together, as well as an office room for his father. Meanwhile, the upper floor was reserved entirely for bedrooms.

Upon entering the kitchen area, Oliver saw his father already sitting at the table while reading the newspaper. Meanwhile, his mother was busy pouring gravy onto the plates.

"Anything I can help with, Mom?" Oliver asked.

"Oh, yes. Please take those plates over there and place them on the table." Irmine pointed.

"Got it."

As Oliver crouched down to grab the plates, a voice suddenly came from behind him, a voice he absolutely did not expect to hear.

"Ermmm... it smells really delicious."

Oliver instantly turned his head. And there, Floralia was standing right behind Irmine while peeking curiously at the gravy pot.

"Kyaaaak!!"

Irmine immediately screamed in shock before quickly retreating together with Oliver while pointing the ladle toward Floralia defensively.

At the same time, Arnulf instantly stood up from his chair and prepared himself to summon his monsters.

"Who are you?! And how did you enter our house?!" Arnulf asked sharply.

Oliver immediately recovered from his shock before quickly rushing toward Floralia.

"No, no! Don’t afraid, both of you! She’s not a bad person. She’s actually my new monster." Oliver hurriedly explained while raising both hands. He did not even bother trying to create an excuse and simply told them the truth directly.

"Monster?! Are you sure she isn’t actually a human?" Irmine looked stunned.

This was the first time Arnulf and Irmine had ever seen a humanoid monster before. After all, in this region, most monsters belonged to beast-type or insect-type categories.

"Yes, Mom. It’s true." Oliver nodded.

"But how did you even meet a monster like her, son? I thought humanoid monsters only appeared in high-ranking dungeons. And most of them are usually found in the central regions of the kingdom, not near the edge areas like ours." Arnulf asked seriously.

"Hmm..." Oliver scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"It’s actually hard to explain. I’ll tell both of you later. For now, just stay calm, alright?"

"Yes. Father and mother don’t need to worry about me, Oliver has already promised to take a very good care of me." Floralia suddenly said teasingly while wrapping her arms around Oliver’s neck.

"Aack!"

Oliver immediately felt a soft sensation pressing against his back before quickly turning toward Floralia in panic. Meanwhile, both Arnulf and Irmine looked equally shocked by the sudden scene.

"Please behave yourself, Floralia! And listen to me! I’m your master."

He quickly pushed Floralia down onto a nearby chair.

"Fine..." Floralia pouted unhappily.

Oliver immediately placed a hand against his temple.

’Looks like I ended up obtaining another weirdo as my monster. Ahh... my head is definitely going to hurt a lot from now on.’
