Overlord Tamer:I Only Tame Bosses
Chapter 97 Family
"So... you two really aren’t my real parents," Oliver muttered while covering his face with both hands as he leaned backward.
The revelation hit him incredibly hard. For fifteen years, he had been living with surrogate parents.
For Irmine, she could still technically be considered his aunt. But for Arnulf, there was absolutely no blood relation between them whatsoever.
"Then Husk and Flora were indeed correct," Oliver said.
"You two knew? Since when?" Arnulf asked in surprise.
"I knew since the first time we met. Your scent and Oliver’s scent are completely different, while Irmine’s scent still shares similarities with him." Husk explained.
"I spend my days mixing plants and studying their phenotypes. Oliver doesn’t possess any of your physical traits." Flora added.
"But then... what does all of this have to do with you rejecting me from going to the Royal Academy?" Oliver asked. Everything still felt confusing to him.
"The reason...is simple. My sister, your seed mother, is one of the Grandmasters within that academy. If you go there, she will definitely inform your grandfather about you. And once that happens, he will take you away from us."
"It is because you are considered pure noble blood. And with the level of talent you possess, there is no way your grandfather would ignore you as a potential heir." Irmine explained.
Now everything finally became clear to Oliver. That was how all the pieces connected together. He never expected that the academy invitation would end up revealing the truth about his birth.
Right now, he did not even know whether he should feel grateful for finally learning the truth or angry for being kept in the dark all these years. His emotions were completely mixed.
"I’m really sorry, dear...I never intended to hide it from you forever. But if I revealed the truth earlier, I was afraid you would hate both of us and think we were selfish." Irmine said as tears began falling from her eyes. This revelation was truly the hardest on her.
"During the taming ritual five years ago, I couldn’t stop blaming myself. I thought I was the reason you failed." she continued with a trembling voice. Arnulf quietly walked over and hugged her gently from the side.
Oliver looked at both of them quietly before lowering his gaze toward his own hands.
’Am I angry? Yes... of course I am. They lied to me for many years.’
’But at the same time... they truly fulfilled their roles as good parents. Even though Irmine is not my real mother, she still carried me for nine months, fed me, raised me, and cared for me all this time.’
’And Arnulf...he is basically a complete stranger to me by blood. But he still worked hard for me, gave me food, provided me shelter, and raised me with love. What more could I possibly ask from them?’
Oliver closed his eyes and slowly inhaled and exhaled deeply. Then, he stood up and walked toward the couple.
Both Arnulf and Irmine looked up at Oliver’s sharp gaze nervously. At that moment, they truly feared that Oliver might hate them or worse.
But suddenly, Oliver tightly hugged both of them. Irmine and Arnulf were completely shocked.
"You two are not my biological parents? To hell with that! You two are my parents. That fact will never change. I... I love both of you. I will never betray the love you gave me during these fifteen years. Please forgive me for my rudeness." Oliver shout out loudly.
"Me too, honey! Me too!" Irmine cried as she hugged Oliver tightly as well.
Arnulf also joined the embrace. Tears of happiness filled all of their eyes.
Husk simply smiled quietly while looking at their interaction. It seemed everything had finally been settled peacefully. Suddenly, he remembered the moments he once shared with his own siblings.
’Where are all of you now? I hope someday we can meet again like before...’
Meanwhile, Flora, who had been standing silently near the door, slowly turned her body and looked toward the moon shining above.
She too was thinking about her past, a past she could never return to again.

"I’m going first, Father, Mom!" Oliver said energetically.
Right now, he planned to raise his level as much as possible while also increasing the levels of all his monsters.
After their long discussion yesterday, his parents had finally agreed to allow Oliver to attend the selection for the Royal Academy.
There was only one month left before the selection began. So from now on, he needed to train harder than ever and obtain as many monsters as possible through the system.
On that very day alone, Oliver cleared five dungeons, a completely new personal record for him. However, all of them were only Rank 3 and Rank 4 dungeons, which were already far below his current standard.
By now, he had become quite accustomed to using all three classes. He continuously switched between them to better understand which class suited different situations and combat styles.
During those raids, he also obtained a large amount of Dominion Cores and Tamer Coins.
---
[Congratulations! You have reached Tamer Level 10!]
[Active Monster Slots increased to 10]
[Limited Offer now offer four products]
[New Feature Unlocked: Disassemble]
[Disassemble - Exchange your unused or duplicate cards for Tamer Coins.]
---
At the same time, he also opened as many packs as he could afford. Of course, he could only purchase the beginner packs he had unlocked earlier since they were far cheaper compared to the newer ones.
As for duplicate cards, he immediately disassembled them into Tamer Coins without hesitation. In total, he managed to obtain five new monster cards, though all of them were only ranked Lesser and Elite.
"Alright! From now on, I’m going to save all my Tamer Coins for the [Dragon Reign] pack. It says I need 5000 coins, and right now I already have 2500. Just another half left! Let’s go dungeoning again today!" Oliver said excitedly.
After that, he continued staring at the [Limited Offer] section. However, ever since the first time he purchased a special pack from that section, he had never bought anything from it ever again.
"Maybe I won’t use it again for a very long time." he muttered.
However, everything changed one day when a special monster suddenly appeared within the [Limited Offer].
A monster that would eventually change Oliver’s life forever.
