Crooked River Dungeon

Oliver jumped high into the air. His long black hair, the trademark appearance of the Arachnomancer class, reflected brightly under the sunlight as he descended rapidly.

He then pulled the threads wrapped around both of his hands, instantly slicing apart the giant crab boss monster within the dungeon.

Even though this was technically not the first time he had defeated this monster, the system still considered it a first clear because it had not been active back when he defeated it previously.

"Alright! I finally reached 4000 Tamer Coins! Just a little more before I can unlock the [Dragon Reign] pack. Hehehe!" Oliver grinned excitedly in anticipation.

Right now, Oliver had started liking the Arachnomancer class more and more since it allowed him to clear monsters and bosses much faster.

The class effect that increased his critical attack chance was also extremely useful, making his attacks deal significantly more damage.

"I originally thought the Arachnomancer class would be something like a necromancer that summons spiders everywhere, but this is fine too. This class is actually really useful for stealth missions in the future." Oliver muttered.

However, leveling up was becoming increasingly difficult since each level now required more and more Dominion Cores.

He then glanced at the duration timer. There was now less than one minute left before the Limited Offer refreshed.

The system continued tempting Oliver. Oliver looked back and forth between the slime card and the countdown timer. It had already dropped to thirty seconds remaining.

"You’re telling me now when I only have seconds left to decide?! Arghhh!" Oliver panicked while grabbing his head frantically.

"Fine! Fine! I’ll purchase it! But if this thing turns out useless, I’m asking for a refund!" Oliver shouted before hurriedly clicking on the card. Soon after purchasing it, he successfully obtained a new rare monster card.

It looked like nothing more than a basic gooey creature on the card. Honestly, Oliver had completely no motivation to tame it.

The next day, he was standing inside the boss room of the Long Cave Dungeon. This place had gradually become his personal area for taming monsters.

He summoned Flora and Husk beside him as backup before raising the card into the air. The card transformed into light before shooting upward.

Oliver immediately expected the dungeon environment to change its domain like usual but nothing happened.

"Did I do something wrong? I’m pretty sure I did it correctly." Oliver muttered in confusion.

"Olive, there," Flora suddenly pointed forward.

Oliver turned around and saw a gooey purple creature slowly moving toward him from afar. Its movement was so painfully slow that it honestly looked completely useless.

"That is Erb the Slime? It looks incredibly weak. I’ll finish it in one move!" Oliver declared confidently before immediately rushing toward the monster while switching his class to Crimson Striker.

"Wait, Olive!" Flora tried stopping him, but he had already dashed ahead.

Oliver slashed the one-meter-tall slime rapidly with his dagger before finishing the combo with Crimson Fang. The slime’s body distorted violently from the impact.

Oliver grinned in satisfaction after seeing the slime’s HP bar instantly drop into the red zone from just a single combo attack.

"So easy!"

He revert his transformation and without hesitation, he immediately raised his hand and attempted to tame it. Suddenly, something completely unexpected happened.

Erb suddenly restored its original shape before rapidly enlarging its body and engulfing Oliver whole. Oliver struggled wildly inside the slime for several moments as if he had fallen into a sticky pool.

Husk and Flora were just about to help when the slime suddenly spat Oliver back out. Oliver landed on all fours while coughing heavily, grateful he was still alive.

"Is that all you can do?"

Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed through the dungeon. Oliver immediately turned around and saw a teenage boy grinning at him.

His eyes widened in shock. The reason was pretty simple.

That teenage boy he saw had the exact same appearance as him.
