Pirate Kingship
Chapter 992 - 546: Rematch with Dagon, Whale Dominator Fist!
[Abyssal Feast] Dagon’s expression shifted from the initial shock at hearing Tyr’s death report, to suspicion at Eton’s, then to anger at Saul’s.
Instinctively, he decided there had to be a lie among these three.
The biggest flaw was this: they had each, alone and head‑on, encountered that Fifth Order Kingly Title Pseudo-God, the [King of the Wild Hunt], witnessed the "murder" scene—so how could they possibly come back without a scratch?
It could only have been intentional on the other side.
He didn’t even have time to think about how Byron had managed to notice them hiding inside the Bayfolk’s collective subconscious.
His eyes, sharp as blades, swept back and forth over the three of them, but all he saw were three flawless faces, not the least bit different from his memories.
But... 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"No flaws on the surface—but in other places, there are!"
He slowly drew his weapon, the man‑made First Level Miracle Object, [Giant Axe Bergelmir].
In legend, Bergelmir was the ancestor of the Frost Giants in myth, and this giant axe was forged from the other’s leg bone.
The true handle of the axe was thicker than a mast; with each swing it carried a Rigorous Winter‑like gale that could freeze an entire mountain peak.
In the next instant, the axe whipped up a freezing wind and hacked savagely toward... the later God of Youth Eton and Saul, the Thunder God.
"You can copy appearances—but where have your faith chains with my Lord gone?!"
Eton and Saul’s faces changed drastically.
They suddenly remembered that when they were fleeing, a blade‑like gleam had seemed to graze over the tops of their heads; they had thought they’d dodged the attack, but now it was obvious that the [King of the Wild Hunt] had used some method to sever their Faith Anchor Chains.
The situation had been too urgent earlier for them to notice; by the time they realized, it was already too late.
"Archbishop..."
They had only just managed to utter one line of protest before the giant axe, wrapped in Divine Aura, sent them flying. Their immunity to physical attacks was useless; their bones snapped and tendons tore in mid‑air, blood splattering all the way.
This one blow displayed, to the fullest, the suppression an upper Supreme holds over Lower Order Vassals within the same taboo system.
If they had walked different paths, taking down two Fourth Order fighting together would never have been this easy.
If you do not become a Lesser God, you have no autonomy, and will forever be small fry.
Yet, at the very moment when [Abyssal Horror] Dagon’s old strength was spent and new strength not yet risen...
On his left and right, the War God Tyr—whom he had just judged to be problem‑free—and his daughter, the Goddess of Love and Beauty Freya, who had been the first to return and had never once drawn his suspicion, struck at the same time.
"Saul" flicked out a short spear suited for close‑quarters combat. His arm served as the shaft, his finger the spearhead; power surged from his feet, running through to the tip. The tiny short spear seemed like a long spear or a great trident, wielded with the grand, sweeping momentum of a heavy weapon.
With a thunderous boom, it exploded against the right side of Dagon’s lower back.
Meanwhile, the trident in Freya’s hands, which had originally been thrusting together toward those two "traitors" Eton and Saul, suddenly turned and rammed into the left side of his kidney.
[Heartfelt Trouble] triggered, and the True Damage could not be negated even by Water Elementalization.
"Awooo—!"
[Abyssal Horror] Dagon, ambushed by a Fifth Order Pseudo-God and his own most familiar daughter after their painstaking act, immediately followed in the footsteps of those two Mythical Creatures, Eton and Saul.
He shot off the dragonhead ship like a runaway cannonball.
Byron, disguised as Tyr, the War God, son of Woden the Divine King, instantly whipped up a raging gale and gave chase.
In mid‑air he heard something inside his body crack with a brittle snap; a chill flowed through his entire body, and the Divine Aura around him shone even more brilliantly.
That was the [Deceit] Authority within him.
Last time, after he had disguised himself as a Holy Spirit to take in his first believer, Luohate, and given him the former Archbishop of Canterbury’s Seal Ring—
Byron had realized that "pretending to be gods" fit extremely well with the [Deceit] Authority within Winter’s Secret Case.
The higher the Order of the target successfully deceived, the faster the digestion, and the stronger the Authority itself would become.
After more than half a month of digestion, and having just deceived three Mythical Creatures and one Fifth Order Pseudo-God in succession, he had finally completely digested this portion of Authority.
Combined with Byron’s own Innate Ability, [Cognitive Revision]—deceiving others, deceiving himself, deceiving the world—it made up for the last weakness of the [Transformation] Authority, such as not being able to "network" with certain Old Gods’ faiths.
Even without using the [Surgical Operation Table] to "transplant" faith chains from others, beings of the same tier, or even Old Gods upon their return, would not be able to detect his disguise.
With this breach opened, it shouldn’t take long for him to digest the remaining Frost Giant heart either.
"It’s you! Byron Lancaster, how did you know we came back to Iron Anchor Bay?"
Dagon spat out a mouthful of blood. The question burst out of him on instinct, and he immediately realized he’d asked something stupid.
His daughter had been a massive "contributor" to her brother Frey’s death, to Vice-Bishop Yemengade’s death, and to the exposure of their current plan.
Dagon did not know of the [Wild Hunt Servant]’s existence; he still thought this was just the Mandate of Heaven of the [Deity Mask: Goddess of Love and Beauty], prone to becoming lovestruck. He couldn’t help cursing furiously in his heart:
"Aside from being young, handsome, rich, powerful, having noble Divine King direct‑line blood, and being both a Kingly Title and a Pseudo-God—what other virtues does Byron Lancaster have?
Even if you betray me, can he really make you Queen of the North Sea Empire? Delusional! Idiot! Idiot!"
When the rage‑fog in his brain cooled a little, he immediately used the Seal Ring on his hand to issue an order to the [Legendary Warship]:
"Valhalla, kill them for me!"
"Yes, Captain!"
The Ship Spirit with a dragon’s head for a prow answered and was just about to act.
A small, beautiful hand—white and delicate as a magnolia blossom, with nails painted in glossy pink—rested lightly on her shoulder.
