There was an air of silence for a second before the cacophony of camera clicks, laughter, cheers, and mockery exploded in the air.

Click! Click! Click!

The cameras made sure to capture all of Houser’s stupidity, and everyone knew the news would be filled with it later.

"Wow!"

"So you were faking it?!"

"Hehe, isn’t that obvious? So many politicians did this before."

Various chatters and laughter echoed around him, and the helpers could only help him up to the wheelchair. Meanwhile, Houser belatedly kept acting, appearing even more pitiful, except his attempts were openly met with ridicule instead.

Satisfied with giving the sperm donor some trouble, Naia finally headed away to fill up her inventory. Amber City was much richer than Freisa City; maybe she’d buy more stuff here.

For now, though, since her supplies were more or less settled for the family, and she already had plans for the remaining area in her space, she could start buying other things.

She also wanted to try her luck in the antique street today. Although the effects of antiques on her space were minimal or even none, there were still some effects, and she could find interesting things for a low price.

At least the antiques and stones there were mixed with fake and real, and were therefore more affordable. Interestingly, when she entered the room she could feel it—which ones would benefit the space!

Rather, she could feel the area around her.

The sensation reminded her of how she felt when taking away the gold the first time, like something was sticky, as if magnetically attracted to her space.

Her power worked a bit like a metal detector, except the reaction was only in her head, and the scope was a bit wider.

She heard that the jade mines abroad had stone gambling. Would this be useful there, too?

Speaking of abroad, she wasn’t allowed to leave the country yet, not just because she didn’t have a passport, but also because she was involved in an investigation and trials.

For now, she should practice.

In the end, for a few hundred thousand, she was able to buy high-quality eleven pieces of jewelry, half of which were jade, and then a few very old antique things. Some weren’t very good-looking, but it was apparently injected with a lot of life and time, so it counted.

In the end, there was no expansion. However, Naia was not that disappointed because it felt like it was continuously storing energy.

She looked at the time and saw it was still early in the afternoon. It was still early. Her old house was not too far away; she’d definitely go to Houser’s house at night and see what she could get.

The wealth hidden there should still be intact. The corporation was a separate entity, and so was Houser’s family.

Although the company’s stocks had dipped down and there were a lot of lawsuits lined up, it wasn’t to the point that everything Houser owned would be officially confiscated in less than a month after he was arrested. Things didn’t work that way.

However, some personal connections whom they owed or had suffered losses because of them might demand direct repayment. They might even take jewelry, antiques, branded items, and the like they had on hand. She could imagine that Carina and her mother were not having a very good time right now.

It was just that Naia was certain Houser wouldn’t put all his eggs in one basket, so there should still be some things she could get there.

The restaurant was relatively high-end, and its guests were obviously well-off.

Naia was given a table at a corner at her request, made a few orders, and then checked out the menu (for takeout) while she waited. Who’d have thought she’d actually overhear a few interesting gossip?

There was a small group of five girls at the table next to her. The tables here were not too squeezed together, and even intricate partitions in between for privacy, even in those outside the walled private rooms.

But who told Naia’s senses, including her hearing, to be improved, far superior than the normal humans?

"We really did see your fiancee with that woman! He was buying her clothes in the V brand! He pointed from one end of the rack to another and said he’d buy them all!"

Naia blinked. Wasn’t this the classic domineering CEO move?

"What? That’s so blatant! Did he forget he has a fiance?"

"It’s just that Carina, right? Isn’t he blind? She ignored and strung him along when she was still rich. Now, she’s sleeping with him because she’s lost her backing! It’s so shameless!"

Naia blinked when she heard her half-sister’s name. Using her bag as a cover, she took out a small bag of sunflower seeds from her space.

Crunch!

"It’s so tacky. The Cerra Family was rich, but it still doesn’t compare to Young Master Blaine’s family, even back at their peak, right? What more now?"

"To be fair...among the rich young masters, Young Master Blaine is indeed the easiest to target..." Another said, and there was a moment of silence that passed over, and an air of amusement sprinkled in.

Obviously, that Blaine person’s lifestyle wasn’t very clean. However, he was rich, and his family’s position was high, so they collectively felt annoyed that he was taking in a ’fallen’ woman like Carina.

"Hmn, now that you mention it, I have seen Carina with a few others, it’s just that it was really hidden. They’re mostly the playboys or the uglies, though."

"Even the fuckboys want to hide their liaisons with her?"

"There’s no other way, she’s so internet famous now. Even for the profilgate sons, being seen with her is embarrassing. This is why the gossip with Young Master Blaine is so loud. Only he’s so blatant like this."

"Hehe, they’re embarrassed to be seen in public with her, but wouldn’t refuse her advances. Men."

"You wouldn’t laugh if I told you your own fiance was one of them."

"What?"

At this point, Naia had already collected a small hill of sunflower seed shells. When her food arrived, the waitress kindly cleaned it up for her, receiving a pretty smile that made the waitress blush.

Naia didn’t notice this at all. She was busy eavesdropping!

Nadia was barely outside the house, and she was busy being a slave to notice much, but WOW, that half-sister’s love life was so colorful!
