Chapter 1667: Underworld Rising

It took just three minutes for all who initially opposed Indie’s rule to bend the knee and swear their allegiance to her. While they still didn’t like her, they had seen her authority and knew she had what it took to rule them or replace them.

None of them wants to lose their power because they didn’t want to submit to a superior authority. Thinking that they chose to rally behind the Underworld god, they saw that this wasn’t any different.

By the time everything was handled, Kent saw that they all wanted to see the rise of the Underworld.

His eyes could see their resolve, and as someone who knew who to trust and who not to, he knew that if what Indie said was true, then soon, all thirteen thrones would be loyal to her.

He said nothing and simply remained on the side. With his eyes, if any of them were faking, he would visit them later and dispose of them before they bring chaos to his wife’s empire.

This was Indie’s domain, and so he allowed her to handle her people.

"Before we start, there is one thing you must know: the Underworld is not limited to only the Demigod Stage. When I came here, there were Supremes and Celestials.

However, after the authority was handed over to me, I made sure that, if I were to leave for a very long time, no one stronger than a demigod could appear to oppose my rule or harm the underworld.

Years passed, and that rule held. However, for a god to appear, it means my authority has started to decay. However, I am here now and, as such, know that in the coming weeks I will slowly lift the ban on your cultivation.

This means your millions of years of cultivation will soon show. The moment that happens, the other realms will sense our grand rise and will try to invade us.

Rest assured, I have no plans to let them succeed. Once the ban is lifted, enter seclusion and push through to your limits. We will meet again after all of you return from seclusion."

They all nodded, most of them happy to finally be able to stand toe to toe with the likes of the Hell Kings and Queens and others who, in the past, used to taunt them.

Elwen walked toward Indie and, with a graceful movement, placed the Underworld Crown on Indie’s head. The moment she did, Kent saw a golden light emanate from her body.

Then he felt it—a higher authority, one that even he could not ignore, descend upon Indie.

Suddenly, the bat paintings on the walls came alive, and one Grim Reaper after another emerged, every last one of them going down on their knees.

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

On the stage, Elwen and the rest of the six Silent Claws also went down on their knees and bowed, chanting the same slogan.

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

On the side of the Underworld Kings and Queens, Ronan was the first to get on his knees.

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

The rest soon followed. They could also feel the same thing Kent felt—a greater authority, one far stronger than the one they held, had been bestowed upon Indie, and so they had no reason to deny her authority.

She was the Underworld Empress, and she had just been crowned.

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

Reluctantly, they all began chanting the same slogan.

Kent and Miryssa sat in their chairs, smiles on their faces as they witnessed the rise of the Underworld. Back during the Primordial Era, the entire universe was sent into a state of panic when the Heavenly Dao suddenly recognized the Underworld. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Chaos never expected that, so he descended there to investigate.

To his shock, the Empress was the same assassin lady he had personally imprisoned there. That left him conflicted, and for a moment, he contemplated killing her before she merged the Underworld with the world of the living and caused chaos.

However, he allowed himself to assess the situation, and when he saw that she held no animosity toward him or the rest of the universe, he let her be.

Who would have thought she would be the first to come when Chaos called?

’I expect greatness this time, too, Indie. The last time, we never got the chance to get to know each other better. This time around, we will work together to elevate the standing of the Underworld.’

Suddenly, Yama, who had left with the chained Underworld God, returned, and he also knelt. Then, from the side, portals opened, and twelve powerful individuals, each no weaker than Yama, appeared. They all knelt.

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

"All hail the Underworld Empress."

Kent speculated that they might be the guards she had left behind in the thirteen layers before she departed for the Great War. They had been suppressed to the Demigod Stage, but he knew they were much stronger than that.

Kent watched them all bow, and after a minute, Indie gestured for them to stand.

"I have received the authority, but it will take me about a month to fully inherit everything. Go back now and prepare. A month from now, the Underworld will begin its rise to its former glory."

She waved her hand, and all thirteen Underworld Kings and Queens vanished alongside their aides.

She turned to the twelve new arrivals. "Welcome, all of you. Like the others, return for now. When everything is handled, I will summon you back so we can have a proper catch-up."

"As you command, Empress," they bowed and left, Yama included.

"I will leave guard duty to you, seven."

The Seven Silent Claws nodded.

"Rest assured, Empress, we will remain vigilant."

"I know you will." Indie smiled, turning to Miryssa. "Elwen will take you to the garden so you can start your cultivation."

Miryssa nodded, and soon she was gone from the throne room. Her reason for coming was to see if she could attain Extreme Ice like Elwen.

If she could, then she would remain undefeated at the Universal God Stage. For now, she and her sisters were cultivating the Ancient Path too, so becoming Supremes would not happen for another hundred years, perhaps a thousand.

But even so, she had nothing to worry about. Kent kept gaining powerful allies every day, and more powerful sisters kept joining the harem. They would be protected regardless of the danger.

After Miryssa left, Indie turned to Kent.

"What do you plan on doing now, my love?"

"Send me to the Ninth Layer. It is about time I met her again after thousands of years."

Indie nodded and waved her hand, creating a portal that led to the Ninth Layer of the Underworld.

"Say hi to my sisters for me, would you?"

"Only natural."

Kent stood up and walked toward the portal.

"Give me a heads-up before you break the seal."

"I will."

He walked through the portal, and he was gone. After he left, Indie tapped the armrest of her throne, and a door opened behind her.

"I will be leaving now. See you, ladies, soon."

"Good luck, Empress."

Indie nodded and walked through the door. It shut behind her, and the entire throne room was left in silence once again.

Meanwhile, in front of a large black mansion, a portal opened, and Kent stepped out. The moment he did, two minotaurs blocked his path and drew their weapons.

"Who are you, and what are you doing wandering around here? Aren’t you afraid you might anger the Queen?"

Kent smiled and nodded.

"Fair point. However, kindly let your Queen know there is a man named Kent looking for her..."

Kent wasn’t finished speaking when a command came from the black mansion.

"Let him in now."
