Chapter 1167: Chapter 1167: Eloping Isn’t Just for Young Girls

When Alice Turner said that, Lily Turner really thought Alice was preparing to elope with Thomas Fisher. She didn’t know what was going on; the idea suddenly popped into her head. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"What elopement? Do you think I’m a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl?" In Alice’s mind, elopement was a very childish and impulsive act. She was already twenty-seven years old, far past the age of being impulsive and childish. She couldn’t be so reckless, nor could she act without considering the consequences.

Lily Turner shook her head, disagreeing with her sister’s statement, "Running away together isn’t just for little girls, I..."

"You stop right there. I don’t care whose idea it is; it has nothing to do with me." Alice didn’t want to continue the topic any further. Before Lily could finish speaking, Alice interrupted her sister and picked up her bag, placing it on her lap. She took out a wallet and drew a card from it, handing it directly to her sister, "Take this card. The password is your birthday. You can buy the gift for the child yourself when the time comes."

When the nephew was born, she definitely wouldn’t be there. She wasn’t entirely sure where she would be.

Lily pushed away the card offered to her, refusing, "There’s no need to be so polite between sisters."

Was it too early to receive a gift when the child hadn’t even been born?

"This card is to buy a gift for my nephew. I’m not giving it to you; you’re just temporarily holding it for me." Alice directly shoved the card into Lily’s hand. After handing over the card, she immediately grabbed her bag and stood up, "I’ve given the gift, and now it’s time for me to leave."

The departure Alice was referring to had a double meaning, but she spoke so naturally that Lily did not notice anything unusual. Clutching the card that had just been thrust into her hand, she stood up, "Sis! Stay for dinner; eat before you go."

She used her hand without the card to tug at her sister’s sleeve, hoping Alice would stay for dinner.

"Easton and his grandfather are here. If I stay, they’d feel uneasy and I would feel awkward." Alice let go of the hand holding her sleeve and walked towards the living room door, "I’m leaving now."

With her back to her sister, she waved her hand without turning around, afraid to look at her sister. She was worried she wouldn’t be able to control her emotions, and if she cried, her sister would notice something was wrong.

Seeing this, Lily quickly followed, "I’ll walk you out."

Concerned about affecting her pregnancy, she didn’t dare to walk too fast, but she wasn’t moving like a tortoise either; her pace was normal.

"You don’t need to walk me out; go back in now." Alice waved her hand with her back turned to Lily again, and quickened her pace. Before Lily could catch up, she opened the door and left.

After stepping out of the house, she quickly walked towards the car parked at the gate.

When Lily came out of the house, Alice was already in the car. Seeing her sister come out, Alice waved at her.

"Sis! Drive slowly on the way." Lily waved goodbye to Alice in the car while walking towards the gate. But just as she reached the middle of the courtyard, she saw her sister driving away.

At this moment, Lily never imagined that this goodbye would be for five years. Whenever she thought of this day, she felt particularly regretful, regretting not noticing her sister’s unusual behavior.
