From the day of the blind date, Thomas Fisher and Evelyn Taylor became a couple, working together to deal with their parents.

Ryan Taylor knew they were pretending, but he didn’t expose them, nor did he intend to speak for them; such deceit would be uncovered sooner or later.

The parents weren’t fools, especially Aiden Taylor and Cedric Fisher, who unanimously agreed there was something off after learning the whole story.

However, the two mothers had different opinions from the two fathers; they believed the two had feelings for each other and hadn’t been together before because they hadn’t been given the chance.

Faced with the mothers’ self-assuredness, the fathers didn’t know what to say but chose not to actively expose the couple, opting instead to observe their every move quietly.

Thomas wasn’t naive, thinking the parents believed he and Evelyn were together. He didn’t say much nor sought his parents’ opinions, quietly going about his own business and letting them judge for themselves.

Evelyn, like the mothers, was particularly self-confident, truly believing her parents had bought her lie, unaware that she was under her father’s watchful eye.

Aiden and Cedric were patient, consistently observing quietly, but Harriet White and Autumn York were less patient.

Seeing that Thomas and Evelyn had been together for over two months without advancing further or showing signs of introducing each other to their families, the mothers grew impatient.

One evening after dinner, Autumn called out to Thomas, who was about to go upstairs to his room, "Come, let’s have a chat."

After speaking to her son, she flashed a look at her husband, signaling him to join them and not sneak off to his room for peace.

Cedric saw Autumn’s signal. He knew what she wanted to discuss with their son when she called for him, planning to avoid the conversation but was summoned by her look.

After glancing at Thomas, Cedric hesitated for a moment before following them.

Seeing his parents heading to the living room, Thomas knew he was in for questioning again, fully aware of what they wanted to ask.

He stood in place for a while before moving towards the living room, where his parents were already seated on the couch when he entered.

Seeing Thomas walk in, Autumn pointed to a spot not far from her, indicating for him to sit down, "Sit over here."

While speaking, she patted the empty spot next to her.

"Here is fine," Thomas said, glancing over without intending to sit by them, choosing a spot further from Autumn and Cedric.

Seeing this, Autumn immediately got up and walked over to her son, sitting down next to him; her son wanted to stay away, but she wouldn’t allow it.

"Mom! Just say what you want, there’s no need to sit so close—I won’t run away," Thomas expressed his discontent when his mom sat next to him.
