Thomas Fisher didn’t want to tag along and play third wheel, Evelyn Taylor had never even considered going, and deep down Ryan Taylor didn’t really want anyone disturbing them either. As for Lilith Spencer, that went without saying—she definitely didn’t want anyone interrupting her date with Ryan.

Ryan Taylor and Lilith Spencer didn’t leave the restaurant together with Thomas Fisher and Evelyn Taylor. The two of them left first, and as soon as they walked out, they headed straight for the cinema.

"Evelyn! What does your brother’s girlfriend do? She looks pretty cold and distant." Ever since the four of them met just now, apart from saying hello at the beginning and goodbye when they left, Thomas Fisher hadn’t heard Lilith say anything else. The whole process made her seem really aloof to him.

This was his first time meeting her, and he knew nothing about her. He didn’t know if that was just her personality, or if her job had shaped her into someone like that.

Evelyn Taylor actually wasn’t that familiar with Lilith Spencer either; she’d only met her a few times. Her impression was pretty much the same as Thomas Fisher’s: Lilith was that cold, aloof type, with a bit of arrogance on top.

"She’s an instructor at the same military academy as my brother." Other than that, she didn’t know much. Since she didn’t like her, she hadn’t bothered to ask her brother or her mom for more details.

"No wonder!"

Thomas Fisher nodded in sudden understanding. In his impression, soldiers were all extremely serious people; he didn’t realize that a lot also depended on individual personality.

Evelyn Taylor, however, didn’t see it the same way as Thomas Fisher. In her eyes, Lilith Spencer was simply someone who wasn’t good with words and had an arrogant streak. She really didn’t like that kind of person. Whether she liked her or not didn’t matter though—so long as her brother liked her, it was fine.

"Thomas! Let’s go too." They were more or less done eating, and the bottle of red wine was shared between the two of them. It was about time for them to leave as well.

"Okay!"

Thomas Fisher had already been planning to leave. As soon as he heard Evelyn Taylor say it was time to go, he immediately stood up from his seat.

Just then, something suddenly occurred to Evelyn Taylor. She raised a hand and pointed at Thomas Fisher’s face. "Aren’t you going to wash your face first?"

Going out looking like that would seriously scare passersby, and if he went home and his family saw him, they would definitely grill him to the bottom of it. If that ended up affecting their collaboration, that would be a real loss.

"Wait for me a bit, I’ll go to the restroom and wash up." He’d only made himself look like this to scare off the blind date. Now that he and the blind date had already reached a consensus, there was no need to keep the ugly makeup.

He left the table and went to the restroom. It was about ten minutes later when he finally came back, and by the time he returned, he’d gone back to his original self.

"Thomas! You still look better as your normal self. Looking at you just now, I almost threw up everything I’d eaten." Evelyn Taylor was exaggerating a little toward the end, but just now she really had been grossed out to the point of almost gagging.

She hadn’t even dared look straight at Thomas Fisher earlier. When she had to look, she would just sneak a quick glance, then immediately shift her eyes elsewhere.

Thomas Fisher assumed Evelyn Taylor was just joking with him and didn’t think she was describing how she’d actually felt. He smiled at her. "Then I’ve really done you wrong. I’ll have to treat you to a proper feast another day as compensation for assaulting your eyes today."

Half joking, half serious, he looked at her. From now on, the two of them would probably be eating and hanging out together a lot. Sharing meals with someone you were familiar with was way better than eating with those random women he barely knew.
