Reborn for Revenge: I Married A Billionaire
Chapter 28- Terrified
"Madam Boss!" Peter came inside, his arms folded on his tummy, "All the employees are still outside."
Sienna, who was busy on her laptop, didn’t even raise her gaze, "We’ll let them in, Peter. But not now. Relax!"
After a few hours, she issued a final warning, and after that, the office staff was allowed to enter the premises. Sienna was now somewhat positive that they wouldn’t cause her any more trouble.
Hunter was sitting on a sofa and seemed busy on his laptop. Sienna didn’t know that he owned one. Or maybe it was also given by his friend.
Urgh. I need to do something about his laziness. She muttered under her breath.
The man was caring, no doubt. He boosted her morale and encouraged her to do business. He cared for her during her period pain.
She wanted to do something for him. This man deserved a chance to prove himself. Not only in front of this world but also to those bloody Levisays who thought so lowly of him.
Still engrossed in her thoughts, she picked up the intercom to call her secretary Finn. It kept ringing, but he didn’t pick it up.
"So, you also want to give me a tough time?" She got up mumbling to herself. The staff in this office was now getting on her nerves.
She stormed out and found the man talking on his mobile phone, with a secretive smile. Sienna tapped his shoulder, "Mr. Finn."
He looked over her shoulder and then raised his index finger, asking her silently to wait for him. Sienna thought she was imagining it.
Did he really consider himself above his boss?
She didn’t know who he was talking to, but she started fuming when he threw back his head and laughed loudly. Across the glass wall, she could feel the curious glances from her staff.
"Finn!" She got a bit louder this time, "If you please disconnect the call and listen to ..."
"I’ll talk to you later, sweetheart," He murmured a little seductively, then kissed the phone, "I love you too."
After cutting the call, he moved his seat around and passed a questioning look to her as if asking what the hell do you want from me.
Sienna moved her finger, asking him silently to get up from his seat. With a small smirk, he did and then shrugged at her with a smile.
In her rage, she didn’t even notice Hunter, who had come behind her and stood there quietly.
"I called you twice!" She reminded him haughtily.
"As you saw..." Finn scratched his earlobe, "I was busy on the phone..."
Sienna placed her hands on her hips. The crowd was now slowly gathering outside the office, "Didn’t I warn you this morning that I want seriousness in my office?"
Instead of answering, he kept smiling as if she were a fool.
"I’m talking to you, Finn," She tried to keep her voice calm, "Answer me."
He moved his head sideways, "I already told you, I was busy..."
Sienna kept observing him with narrowed eyes, "You do know I can fire you. Right?"
Finn’s face suddenly turned serious, somewhat chilly as he stepped towards her, "You can’t fu*cking fire me..." He whispered.
Before Sienna could utter a word, a hand came out of nowhere and gave him a little push, "Keep your fuc*king distance, mate," Sienna frowned when Hunter hissed behind her.
Sienna tilted her head to look at Hunter’s face, where there was nothing but something lethal. She had never seen him this serious.
Even with his dark glasses, she could see that his face was stripped of any warmth that she had gotten used to.
Finn might not be expecting it as well because he moved a few steps back, "I ... I... you can’t fire me..."
When Sienna didn’t respond, he looked at the crowd outside the room as a weak smile tugged at his lips, "Nobody can fire me..." He smirked, "I’ll take everything to social media..."
This time, Sienna cocked up a brow and then stepped closer to him, "Really?" She offered him a friendly smile that didn’t reach her eyes and then leaned ahead, "As my father’s secretary, you know very well how the phones in this office are tapped," She whispered, "Does your wife know that you’re having an affair?"
Finn’s face seemed to turn pale in a matter of seconds, "Wh...what do you mean?"
With a nod, Sienna straightened, her smile widened, "You do know what I mean. If I fire you, then no one will hire you. Why don’t you resign and spare the insult yourself, Finn!" Sienna suggested, tilting her head sideways.
A smile broke on Hunter’s lips, but he quickly wiped it off. His wife was indeed a fast learner.
Finn tried to push back his shoulders and lifted his quivering chin. He didn’t want his bravado to get crushed in front of an audience.
"Mister...George Mason hired me ... and I’ll only leave if he tells me to... I’m the secretary, and I know how this office works..."
"He won’t..." Sienna clicked her tongue inside her cheek, "I’m the boss. Remember?" She batted her lashes, "And don’t worry about office work. I’ve got the perfect candidate for the job..."
Now the whole staff, including Finn, was curious to know about this candidate.
"Candidate?" He breathed out the word. Even Hunter, who was leaning against the wall, straightened.
His instincts warned him that something was about to go terribly wrong. And his instincts had never failed him.
"Yes!" Sienna clapped her hands with fake excitement and then reached behind her to pull Hunter ahead by holding his shirt, "Here. Meet Hunter Levisay, my husband. Also, my new secretary. Now be a good boy, Finn. Pack your bags and get lost. Get your resignation delivered by tomorrow morning or consider yourself fired."
For the first time in his life, Hunter felt at a loss for words. Secretary? Him?
Finn, who considered himself untouchable, was standing there like a fool... and the office staff?
They were now scared. Terrified.
When Sienna Mason had told them that she might fire them, she wasn’t bluffing. They were finally beginning to understand what she was capable of.
